  1. Ive decided for myself, that I will only consider using tungsten if I either, needed weight heavier than 1/4oz, or if I were to be punching through weeds(which of course would require weight heavier than 1/4oz). Outside of that, I have been pleased with painted lead made by Bullet Weights. That's just my preference.
  2. Didnt like 'em. I like to use 3" senkos whenever just fun fishing for numbers. When others reach for the Ned rig, I grab a 3" senko, and have similar results. Recently I picked up some BPS 3" Stick-O's, and fished them side-by-side with the Senkos. And boy lemme tell you what, the difference there was night & day. I would be catching fish fairly well on the Senko, and then switch to the Stick-O for a good while, and it was like somebody just switched off the mojo. And I would fish it for a good hour. Once I switched back to the Senko, it was "game-on" once again. It was an extremely noticeable difference. I know many of you have had good results with the Stick-Os, but after this try out, I don't believe these things will be my preference. Its a shame too cause that was a pretty good deal.
  3. I recently noticed that TW is now selling Dirty Jigs brand replacement skirts. So I picked up a few for swim-jigging and spinnerbaiting. I gotta say, these patterns are sick. Very pleased. Their "Crappie" pattern is an excellent spot-on representation.
  4. The best time for me, is anytime that I cant work a submerged bait effectively.
  5. I have one that works great, and one that sinks.
  6. Just throwing out a quick question. I didn't do a search for the topic because Im out and about at the moment. But....Fishing from shore....when fishing T-Rig worms, I typically make some moderately long casts, and then crawl the worm back to shore. But now the vegetation is getting pretty thick. Can I still work these areas effectively in the same way with a worm? It sure doesn't seem like it. Should I be switching to something else? Even if the worm comes through that stuff cleanly, is it even a viable expectation for a fish to grab at a worm that is bottom crawling through the weeds? Thx
  7. LOL@ Snags on bubbles.
  8. What are some of your most consistently High-Percentage techniques, per season? Would be interesting to see everyone's comparison. (hopefully this isn't too vague, feel free to elaborate as you see fit.)
  9. *yawn* Yeah Im just looking for a general workhorse reel, not for anything specific. Theres one that Im looking at, that has the following... - 5.2:1 gearing - 27" line retrieve - 7 bearings - 9oz - 17lbs drag Its geared a little low, but Im thinking it will be a good fit for my purposes.
  10. What are the important aspects that you look for when selecting a spinning reel?
  11. Anybody use 20lb Big Game line for jigs?
  12. Just get a good running start, and then Happy Gilmore that sucker.
  13. T-rig craws
  14. Liked it.... Caught my new personal best with it (T-rigged). Among others. Nuff said - Winner
  15. Which one is the better fish catcher, on a Texas rig? Hmmm...

I've actually been using 3/0 EWG, rigged skirt up, weightless. I've just been scooting it along the bottom.
  20. Holy smokes......THE most productive bait I have ever used. Way more fish caught vs. far fewer baits lost. Really contemplating getting rid of my most of my jigs, beavers, and craws, in favor of this bait. Not all...But most.
  21. I think Im mostly impressed with the lack of color changing needed, to fit the conditions of the day. One color is all I have needed for a wide range of conditions.
  22. Long story-short.....Im impressed. > Ive only been using one single color - silver flash minnow. > These things are catching crappie, sunfish, better than anything else I have. > They catch dink bass almost as good as my 3" senko > These have also been taken by several surprise larger bass. Sizes: 14", 16", 16", and 17" > These things have maintained their high effectiveness in all conditions. Sunny days, cloudy days, rainy days. Clear water, stained water, and muck water. Warm temps & Colder temps. Morning, midday, and evening. Still only with one color. No color change needed. > The tail action on a 1/32oz head almost requires no retrieve to get it kicking, Making it the slowest functioning bait that I have. That seems to be an advantage. I think.
  23. I view it as an investment, only because I consider the "fish caught" to be the "return" on my investment. But that's just me, and that helps me to keep my expenses down to a realistic level. Ok, I'll also add in some 2" Easy Shiners, only because Ive been doing great with them lately.
  24. Simple. Get yourself a cheap spinning combo. A pack of 3" senkos, and a pack of 4" Keitech easy shiners.
