  1. Better marketing? Irrelevant. With regards to bait design, SK could've done better. I find it surprising that they didn't. Honestly it actually has no "rage tail" features to it, so it really shouldn't even be described as such.
  2. KEITECH But, I find Kicker Fish Tail Slappers to be a great Keitech knock off
  3. Competition is good, sure. But I've always considered these to be a let down. The Rage tail line of baits have an established reputation for great innovation. But this time, they've decided to just copy someone else's product rather than creating something with some level of originality.
  4. The tails look the same. Not seeing the "patented flange."
  5. By not buying tons of plastics and cranks.
  6. Right now I'm having strange luck using light tackle. LM Bass from 14-16" have been hitting 2" easy shiner, 1.5" Sliders, and just yesterday I landed an 18" bass on a 3" Kalins grub.
  7. I use two at a time. I own 4 total. 1 Hvy 1 Mhvy 1 Med 1 Light
  8. Ok people.....Its looking like maybe my point got missed here. The bait actually does NOT sink very slow. It sinks somewhat slow, ok, but I feel that it doesn't sink slow enough. Or rather, it would be better if it would sink a little bit slower than it currently does. Actually no, since the weight is in the belly and not directly under the line, like on a jig head, anytime the bait is held stationary it hangs down in a vertical position. It was definitely not made to be hung under a float.
  9. How so? a jighead would ruin the action that is inherent to its design.
  10. I see a lot of mention of using a medium action rod with a slower tip....and I fully agree with this. However, it is equally important to also understand how to successfully pull off the same soft hookset, with a more stout, heavier rod.
  11. In my bank fishing experience, regardless of whether Im fishing for numbers, or fishing for bigguns. Ive always had more success by changing my shoreline locations more often, than changing my baits. So my tackle selection is almost always limited to about 1-4 different baits, total. (Note: this is for waters that Im fairly acquainted with.)
  12. Cool bait.....But.....it...would be.....much improved.......if..........it would sink........... just a little bit.......slowerrrr.
  13. I don't set the hook hard....Instead, since this bait has double treble hooks, I set the hook kind of in the same manner as I do with a crank bait. With a long sweeping motion. Never had a problem.
  14. I don't believe it does. Ive never had scented bait be a big advantage over non-scented baits. Especially on swimming baits. But regardless, I use the easy shiner in both 4" & 2" versions often, and the bass and panfish love em. They are an outstanding minnow profile, and their best feature is their slow speed action. Sooo...I get over the smell.
  15. I've caught fish on it before, but was a swim jig. Try a tube as a chatterbait trailer
  16. Actually, no it isn't.
  17. Here's a better idea, if you just get your mind to stop haunting you by thinking, "what-if," then you won't need anyone else's input on what you should take.
  18. Lost a 3" Kalins grub and an 8th ounce ball head. Crap!!
  19. What weight was your jighead?
  20. That style of bait has been cAtching fish for a long time. Def good to have
  21. Excite baits 10.5" maximus worm
  22. I'm often out there in my cargo shorts, flip flops, Iron Maiden t-shirt, and my Tigers cap.
  23. Honestly, I'm loving this bait. I've been putting some thought lately into upgrading my 6yr old's fishing gear, and coming to realize that the Easy Shiner is one that is darn near perfect for his set up. Why? The 4" size rigged on an Owner 1/8oz - 2/0ewg ultrahead finesse ballhead is a great fit and can cruise suuuuper slow without too much sink rate. This fits great with the low gearing of the youth spincast reels, and runs nicely in shallow water without much bottom contact, when making short casts from shore. For a 4" swimbait, the lures thinner profile makes it a lighter weight than most others, which can be important when dealing with youth rods. Though keitech are soft, durability is acceptable, with one bait lasting multiple small bass. Haven't has a tail bitten off yet, but I'm sure that's soon to come. The textposed hook reduces the chances for accidental injury, and losses from hangups. And the fish smoke em. When the dink bass are spunky, they will hammer these baits frequently. And these baits will also allow the youngster to enjoy the thrill of catching the occasional surprise lunker as well. OveralI, great combination of qualities. I give it top marks, excellent first lure for any kid, and even runs well on these Mickey mouse type kids poles, so long as it's not an ultra light. So even kids 3yr-5yrs old can work this lure effectively and still bring home the bacon.
  24. Kicker Fish Tail Slapper, and Keitech Fat are the only boot-tails that I use. Thoroughly pleased with both,
