  1. However...... Instead of a menace grub, consider getting a Cut R Worm. Here you have a bait that has the same excellent Rage Tail design in a single, larger, flapping appendage, that can be rigged in all the same ways as the Menace grub, but can also be worked as a worm as well. The Cut R Worm can be cut to fit, any size jig or jig head application, or it can be left long and rigged in all of your favorite ways to rig a worm. Also, it can be rigged weightless and used as a buzzing top-water. Hmmm...Now that smells like versatility to me.
  2. Who else besides Rapala makes a floating minnow hardbait? I'm finding mostly suspending hard jerkbaits. Not floaters.

About how many spinnerbaits do you own?
  4. Lunker City Ribster in maybe their "clear water" color. Jackall cross tail shad
  5. Hmmm.....I wonder how that desert would look on a jig.
  6. Well I cant very well go by that at this point. Still haven't caught any fish on a jig, yet. So Im just working through a process of reduction, simplification and personal preferences. I think I'll just stick with DT grubs, Super Salty Chunks, Paca Craws, and Rage Lobsters.
  7. Hope so. I have like 50+ bags from the last 3 seasons that Id like to get rid of.
  8. So far, Id say the Paca Craw comes pretty close to being that do-all, excel at everything, kind of trailer.
  9. Want some of mine?
  10. No thanks, I have more than enough that do, and have no need for any additional plastics.
  11. One thing is for sure..I have too many plastics.
  12. Alright people, now try not to confuse this as being a Good trailer vs. Bad trailer test. This simply shows which ones stand and which ones don't. Anything outside of that, just becomes a matter of personal preference, and technique.
  13. I was perusing through some soft plastics and had some time to kill, so just for kicks, I decided I would do a tank test to see which plastics I use as jig trailers, have appendages that actually have the buoyancy to stand upright on a jig, or which ones hang down sad and droopy. If the baits stood up well, I left them there for quite some time to see how long they would stay that way. The results are as follows.... > Chompers Skirted Grub 5" -- YES, Stood upright nicely, never sagged. nice. > D-Bomb --> YES, Stood up nicely, never sagged > Bruiser Baits Crazy Craw --> YES, Stood up nicely, never sagged > Paca Craw -- YES, Stood upright nicely, never sagged > Rage Craw -- NO, Sucked, hanging terribly sad and droopy. > Rage Lobster -- YES, Stood upright nicely, quite noticeably better than the Rage Craw. > Zoom Super Chunk -- NO, hung sad and droopy > Zoom Big Salty Chunk -- OK, stood upright nicely, but it seemed after some time, appendages gradually began to droop, and the amount of droop would not improve. > BPS Incredible Craw 3.5" -- YES, Stood upright nicely > V&M Mudbug -- NO, Hung sad and droopy > Yamamoto Flappin Hog. -- NO, Sucked, Hung terribly sad and droopy > Riot Baits Fuzzy Beaver -- YES, Stood upright nicely.
  14. Well obviously, it would be.......The Banjo Minnow!!
  15. Yamamoto's seemed to be less effected by this.
  16. Would the retailer replace them if they were packed that way by the manufacturer?
  17. Multiple brands from multiple retailers. Frankly it seemed that any of these grubs that weren't packed with skilled precision, ended up being mangled. The ones I finally purchased were Chompers brand, ordered from Bass Pro.
  18. I should have expected this, but every package of Twin tail grubs Ive ever seen has appendages that are creased and mangled. Am I supposed to be ok with this, and fish them as is, or am I going to be boiling these things for a while?
  19. Havent put it in the water yet, but at first inspection, Im a little disappointed that the external weight had not been painted over at all. Im sure the fish probably wont care, but that just seems counter productive to the idea of making the bait look as realistic as possible. Which is Live Target's namesake. It really is an eye sore. The bend in the body is interesting, as if the fish is in mid-swim. Looking forward to see how this might effect its presentation in the water. That's really all I have at this point
  20. Im hoping to get a good deal on a pack of bobber stops.
  21. The book is ok....It is really just a collection of articles, put together in a binding, rather than a well thought out, well written, front-to-back book. Or rather, it lacks the systematic cohesiveness, that is found in Bill Murphy's book. If that makes sense. That part left me rather underwhelmed. You may find some useful info, or maybe some familiar concepts explained in a different way (which sometimes can be helpful), but I dont believe the book ranks anywhere near Bill Murphy's book.
  22. For those of you who have pre-ordered one of these. When you receive it/use it, let us know your thoughts about it.
  23. Just real quick, anybody here ever use the swimmin ribster for smallmouth? If you have, what are your thoughts/impressions about it?
  24. For Shore fishing... - Stanley Top Toad - Swim jig / Keitech Fat - Super Fluke - SK Cut R Worm - 3" Senko
