Lucked Out Today On Some Curados.
I absolutely love them. I am still planning on sending them to DVT for a supertune. I own a few and keep a spare for parts for when I'll need them. The only problem is... They are all still in outstanding condition. My next move in the upcoming year is to buy a pair of curado I's or chronarch e's. Hopefully Ill be able deal shop for them as well.

Shimano Discontinued Lifetime Warranty?
I agree. I own a lot of avids. And st croix has always been awsome with their service. The only rods I've ever broken were my own fault. I was just curious because all of my inshore rods are shimanos. I care for them well but it for some reason was a selling point for me. I was just asking to be sure. It has to be a big selling point for a lot of us. I'm sure you can't warranty every careless angler. And I know people high stick and bruise rods as well.

Shimano Discontinued Lifetime Warranty?
The new cumaras Have one year warranty! It struck me as odd as i was considering one today. I inquired about this with my local tackle shop owner and he said they have completely stopped the lifetime replacement program. I was told that it applies to everyone's rods, even if they own some already. Can anyone elaborate on this? I've never had one break, but this was a huge selling point for me personally.

Avid X
Rods break. Avids break. And it's mostly user error. Though, I feel like an avid, well cared for should last for as long as you care for it.

Lucked Out Today On Some Curados.
It's funny, I'm two generations of curado behind... Yet the technology feels immensely different from the old greenies. Hopefully they will last another generation. My reel collection is starting to look like a time machine. Great reels.

Lucked Out Today On Some Curados.
Had a chance to buy two c4s for cheap from a buddy of mine. I passed on them thinking they may not suit my fishing style and he had a chance to sell them for more. So, feeling a little regretful, I walk into my local tackle shop today and come across two curado g series reels half price. In box , never used. I feel like I lucked out as I have been using the original bantams and a super free I bought over a decade ago.

Avid X
Oddly, being a st croix fan, I was looking at one of these. It didn't have a full lifetime warranty like the avids I own. I think it was 15 years. I Beleive, however, that it is the same blank but with a split grip and micro guides. Those were the only differences I could spot.

Abu Garcia C4
He personally doesnt care for them and ended picking up a couple of Revos. I personally think they look cool and will use them if they throw decently. Thanks again guys for the responses. I apreciate it immensely.

Abu Garcia C4
These reels both have the 6 pin system. The were both purchased about eight months ago. I wouldn't normally buy the 5600 size, but the opportunity has presented itself. . So with the 6 pin, they should be good? Or should I pass on them. I personally prefer throwing lighter stuff such as small cranks and t Riggs mostly. I really apreciate all the info you guys have. I am glad I decided to ask before I made the purchase.

Abu Garcia C4
They are 5601's btw. Hopefully not too big

Abu Garcia C4
Thanks for the quick replies!! I have two eleven year old avids 6.5 med and med/heavy that need reels. Gonna use them as my pond hoppers. Gotta grab them at this price.

Abu Garcia C4
Have a chance to get two of these for 35 dollars each. How do these reels handle baits at a quarter ounce? It seems like a good deal and they are in great shape.

Need A Rod Around A $100 To Pair With Curado I
I have experience with the carbonlites and like them. Also the falcon bucoo is a solid choice. Mine has a lifetime warranty, which surprised me for the price.
- What New Reel Would You Compare To A Curado 200E7 ?

Fluorocarbon Or Mono??
In my experience fluoro can be a little more sensitive to abrasion than mono. I really am careful to check mine for line damage frequently. When I was starting out with fluoro, I used a relatively cheap brand. I remember one day getting a nasty backlash that had to picked out. I ended up breaking my line on a fish where it was damaged from the backlash. Just a thought. Not sure if it helps at all.

St Croix Avid Vs Tournament Bass. Significant Difference Between The Two?
I think the ltb is a much nicer built rod, the guides are nicer as well as the overall craftsmanship. I feel like I get farther casts with the ltb being that it uses smaller guides. But overall I feel like it is similar to the avid in overall performance. Also, being a fan of st croix I hate to say it, but once you get to the 7ft m/h range, both the avid and the ltb are tip heavy and could be balanced better, especially for the price. If u have the money to burn, buy the ltb. But honestly for the lengths and actions you are looking at, I wouldn't prefer either.

What Is The Best Round Reel Under $350?
Based on my experience, I would highly reccomend the calcutta d. It has a much more compact size than the previous generation so the 200 feels like my old 100 and the 300 feels like the old 200 and is very palmable. Very strong and powerful reel. I use mine for throwing crankbaits and swimbaits and the retrieve feels effortless. It casts a mile and is simple to break down. Just my opinion though. I am very happy with mine.

Kayak Anglers! What 3 Rod/reels?
I fish from a kayak and canoe a lot and I use three setups tops when paddle-crafting. But.... It really depends on the places, and cover you fish to narrow it down to three. I bring three on paddle raft but they will vary depending on where I'm going.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing. Need Some Advice.
I used to fish the tamiami canal all the time from miami to Naples for bass on the east side and snook on the west side but never hooked into a peacock bass. I had days where I would catch a dozen or so bass but didn't know anything about the peas until I caught one in lake ida by accident. They are fun for sure. This winter I will have to venture down there and keep a couple of rods rigged up for peacocks as well.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing. Need Some Advice.
We scaled it at 6.85. It was huge. We caught three others that weren't nearly as big but were decent size. It was caught on lake ida from the shore in shallow water on a shiner free lined. I always bring live bait if I'm taking my girl fishing. This thing blitzed it as it hit the water. I've been back to that spot on my canoe several times and I've only caught one on an artificial. A 1/4 ounce chartuse rattletrap in chrome blue. I really want to head to miami to fish them, but I don't want to lug my canoe that far. Is there any good bank fishing spots that I could try by foot?

All-Around Pitching/flipping Rod -- Need Help Please....
I like the amistad blank by falcon. I own one in the bucoo series, but I have fished one in the cara series and I feel it is an exceptional pitching rod and a decent flipping rod. It's 7'3 and has a quick taper. I use it for the above techniques and also big worms.

Suggest A Good Inexpensive Round Baitcaster
Sorry miss read your post. Scratch the calcutta. I would definitely go c3

Suggest A Good Inexpensive Round Baitcaster
I think you can nab a used abu c3 pretty cheap. I've bought two this way and I'm glad I did. Parts are and always will be readily available if you need repairs. They will give you the longest rate of service I this regard because of parts availability. They are relatively cheap and they look cool. I Beleive they have a retrieve rate of 26inches per turn which makes them good for most techniques. But my personal favorite round reel of all time is the calcutta in any series. I am partial to the d series. These reels are solid, smaller, simplistic, easily palmable and are excellent casters. So in my opinion....abu for value. Calcutta for niceness. I like both
