  1. yes& yes. gotta figure out how to put a pic up!
  2. I decided to go to my pond today after I got done feeding the cows & thought i'd try out a new & my first rat-l-trap in pumpkinseed. glad I did! I casted between two stumps & as soon as it landed he inhaled it! i thought it was a catfish for while then i got him beside the boat & i nearly lost it when i saw it was a bass & how big he was. according to the scales he was 8.75lbs.
  3. yeah I think retail is $80 on the sahara
  4. oh I forgot to mention I noticed Ring King had a new unused symetre 3000fj for sale(don't know if he's sold it yet or not) on here for $75.so i'd consider that one too
  5. yes I am back on the subject of shimano spinning reels! haha. I would have bought a symetre last week while I was at my local academy but they didn't have one.so yesterday I was on an auction site&i found 2 reels i'd be more interested in than the new symetre.one of them is a new in the box(actually clamshell packaged)sahara 2500fd for $75 &the other is a symetre 3000 fj used but looks like its in good condition.the bid is currenly at $35.between those two which would you go for?
  6. hey everyone I was at my local academy sports&outdoors last night&went to pick up some hooks&a couple packages of soft plastics but thought I'd take a stroll down the rod isle before I left&i found 2 rods i'd personally never seen or heard much about.one was a falcon hd &the other was a castaway pro sport.anyone ever tried either one of those rods?i believe both were about$70.can anyone compare them to the halo daylight?(that's what I currently use) thanks.
  7. oh ok.i wasn't sure of the difference or if there was difference. thanks!
  8. hey guys is there a difference between stainless steel guides with chrome inserts & stainless steel guides with stainless steel inserts or are they basically the same? thanks.
  9. thanks for the replies.i decided to go with the symetre now just gotta get to bass pro to pick it up!
  10. I don't know if its a defect or not but I have a halo daylight that does the same thing. I thought it was my reel at first &when it wouldn't make the noise on my other rod(it has regular guides) i figured it was the guides.I believe it has to do with how small the tip guide is along with minor defects&abrasions in the line.
  11. thanks(again.Lol)for all the replies every one.i'm kinda leaning towards the symetre only because it is a little cheaper.any one have the new symetre?if so how do you like it?is it just as good as the saros?
  12. thanks for the replies everyone! I've narrowed it down to either:the Sedona, symetre, saros or stradic fj(only considering the stradic because I can find a few for $155)out of those which would you recommend&should I consider the sahara too?
  13. thanks for replying!i guess I should have clarified a little better!Lol.my budget's anywhere from $50-$180&out of all the models shimano makes in that price range which would you recommend?i particularly don't want to spend $180 on a spinning reel unless its absolutely worth it.(I'd rather not spend more than $100 but like I said if its absolutely worth it i'd shell out another $80) once again thanks&sorry for the confusion!
  14. hey yall new to the forum but i'm fairly educated in bass fishing&just got my first shimano baitcaster(curado I &i'm loving it!)&i'm looking at upgrading my spinning outfit(currently abu garcia cardinal sx)&I think I've decided on a shimano in either a 2500 or 3000 size but cant decide on the model.so the ones i'm looking at is any where from the Sonora to the stradic fj&everyone in between.which would you recommend?gonna use it mainly for light t-rigs&single blade spinnerbaits(h&h's).either gonna put it on a shimano convergence or a halo daylight.both 7ft.med. power.(p.s. couldn't think of a good username so I used the name on the side of my boat.Lol) thanks for any&all replies!
