Sorry about the double post

Tatula Grooving
No. I don't think you could. The t-wing rotates into the open position and when it does the worm shaft & guard rotate too so I imagine it would mess up casting. Sell the tats and get a fuego if you want a conventional line guide

Daiwa Excelor 100 Vs. Lew's Lfs
As you can tell he's a fanboy. No offense meant. Just calling it as I see it. I'm a Shimano fanboy myself. Between those two I'd go with the daiwa(more metal, better braking system)& daiwa has been around forever. If I were picking any reel i'd spend $117 on a new citica I.

- Dedicated Toad Rod.. Suggestions Would Help.
I was looking for a rod to do that exact thing early in the summer. I finally settled with an irod gen2 704. It has an amazingly soft tip to be a hvy but when you go to set the hook it feels like a totally different rod because it has a lot of backbone. It loads up nicely with horny toads& even baits as heavy as optimum baits furbit frog/rat. Other than a bit tip heavy(with 7oz reel) it has quickly become my go to rod. Hope that helps with your decision!- Lews Vs. Shimano
X2- Baitcaster Noise
"Replace the gearset and the noise will be gone"-k3bass No way on Gods green earth can the gearset be worn out that quickly.the main gear maybe a different material(duralumin, aluminum) than the norm(brass) and that maybe causing the noise,it takes longer to "break"those gearsets in.i had the same problem with my curado.turned out to be debris on the line pawl.cleaned it out, oiled it and it's now good to go.not saying that's the OP's problem but it was mine.- Irod,st.croix Or Somthing Else?
Hey guys looking to get a new all-around rod to pair with a curado B and I was wondering what you would do if you were me, I have a friend that's on the irod prostaff that can get any rod in the gen 2 line up for about $100, so I was thinking about getting one but then I checked out st.croixs bargain room and they have rages for $90 so i'm torn on what to do. which would you get? or if neither one of them are worth it what rod would you recommend for $150 or under?(I have a tatula rod and its ok but I probably wouldn't buy another, so not interested in them) thanks.- Old Lews Ad
My grandpa owned the rod on the far right, he used it for catfishing and then he gave it to me.i use it occasionally for spinnerbaits but its mostly a conversational piece now- First Warranty Experience&need Some Help
hey guys I got a quick question but first the back story. I ordered a Duckett Micro Magic about a month ago and took my reel off the rod to clean the reel and put it back on and the reel seat nut on the rod broke (the threads on the inside of the locking nut stripped out). So I contacted duckett and he said send him the logo portion of the rod and a check for $20 and he would send me a new micro magic pro. That's excellent customer service if you ask me! so my question is do I cut the rod off above the logo and send him everything from the logo down or do I cut it off above the logo and above the reel seat and just send that section of the blank? this is the first time I have sent a rod in for warranty so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.- Lews& Abu Revos, same Internals?
Well you do have to admit they have a really big pro staff, not to mention several collegiate& high school bass fishing teams they sponsor too- Lews& Abu Revos, same Internals?
Hey guys been thinking about this for a couple days and thought I'd get some advice.I know both lews and abu are made by doyo but theres one thing I don't understand, they both supposedly share some internal parts but you NEVER here about a lews having problems, abu on the other hand you here a lot about clutch re-engagement problems. I even experienced it first hand. I owned a new gen abu orra sx and a lews speed spool and never had a minutes trouble out of the speed spool but the abu developed a sticky thumbar within the first two months and it wasn't the first one that did it to me either. so heres my point of view on it option A: lews has a HUGE pro staff(like denali) and there are a bunch of "trollers" pushing lews, option B: lews got doyo to tighten up QC on their reels so there wouldn't be as many problems or option C: the huge hunk of brass that abu calls d2 duragear is causing some kind of problem with re-engagement. I may be completely wrong with my assumptions (correct me if I am) but what do yall think? thanks- Duckett Issues
x2.i have a hvy. power micro magic and while imo it is not as sensitive as my tatula it is still my favorite rod in my arsenal. It's like two rods in one, it has a soft tip but still stout enough for 3/4oz. + plastic. When I go to set the hook though there is a TON of backbone. I've only had the rod a month but I have winched some fish out of some pretty narly stuff and I haven't felt underpowered yet...- Duckett Issues
- Most Sensitive Rod At 150$ Price Point?
x2.that and the daiwa tatula would be my two picks.- Berkley E-Motion?
When I was looking for a pitching rod I checked out there 7'3" ex-hvy and the balance was horrible, it felt like somebody had tied a brick to the tip of the rod. I usually like what Berkley has to offer but unless it is as sensitive as a powell endurance, tatula, micro magic, etc., etc., I don't see my self buying one of those. It and the shimano compre Flipping rod have had the worst balance of any $100 rod I've felt so far.- If You Were A Bass Pro
- New Rod! What Reel To Go With It?
Hey guys got a new rod friday and have been LOVING it .Here's a mini review of it. Its a duckett micro magic 7' hvy. and out of all the rods I've tried it is my favorite jig pitching rod i've used so far.The epoxy work is a little sloppy on the first guide but other than that the buld quality is excellent. The sensitivity is good, not quite as good as my tatula but it is very close. It balances just as good as my powell endurance and feels a little lighter.I put one of my reels on it to fish it but now theres a rod at my house that doesnt have a reel on it and thats not acceptable. Lol. So I'm looking for a reel for my duckett. Heres the three I was deciding between, a shimano curado l, a daiwa lexa(not going to consider the tatula for several reasons, doesn't palm well for me being the main one),or a BPS Johnny Morris signature series going to be using it for jig fishing and frog fishing with braid mostly. Thanks.- Temple Fork Outfitters Rods
If you go for it make sure you're looking at the tactical series. those go for $150 but they do make two models. one retails for 99(the signature) and the other one retails for 150(the tactical)- Curado B Gear Set
Hey guys as most of you know I own a shimano curado B and after using it for while I have found that this is a tank of a reel.l am in the process of putting a flippin' and pitchin' combo together and I would like to use that reel. so my question is are there any high speed gear sets available for the curado B? would 7:1 gears from a curado E work? if not I guess I have an excuse to get a new reel! thanks.- Not Much Talk About Duckett
X2. doesn't get much better than that^^.- Flippin' Pitchin' & Froggin' Rod
hey guys as some of you know i'm looking to get a dedicated "slop" rod(flippin' pitchin' and frog rod) and l'm having trouble deciding what to get. l'm looking at getting either a 7ft hvy. falcon bucoo,a daiwa tatula 7'2" hvy, one of the new team daiwa s rod 7'hvy. a *** *** green med. hvy. 7'2" a powell inferno 725 or a st. Croix premier 6'10"hvy or a 7ft. hvy or med.hvy. out of those which would you choose? also I've heard that the med. st Croix's are more like med hvy. so should I go for a med.hvy in the st.croix model? And l've also heard they aren't as sensitive some of the others I listed but I can find them new for about $115.would they be worth $115? thanks. - Dedicated Toad Rod.. Suggestions Would Help.
