  1. No I didn't, but I have heard that they do have very good CS. My 10 year old cousin loved the color scheme on it and I hardly ever used it so I just gave it to him. Needless to say he was ecstatic about getting it. ?
  2. I've had a powell inferno, an irod fiber and just bought a duckett ghost. The fiber is a 754 and one of my hands down favorite rods in my arsenal. I've had the ghost (6'8" medhvy) less than a week but I have fallen in love with it. Its light, sensitive balances extremely well and is imo the perfect rod for 1/2oz rat-l-traps and red eye shads. I've also owned a powell inferno 734. It was a decent rod. Cork was horrible on the one i got, and the fiber balances better but it was pretty sensitive.
  3. Dang... There goes my money.
  4. Sweet! Let me know how you like it. Thinking about replacing my endurances with these.?
  5. Alright all you dobyns fans, new series coming out in August. The "Sierra". All fuji components and priced pretty much the same as the savvy. I figure it's the savvy's replacement. That's just a guess though. Pictures of them are on the dobyns website.
  6. I believe a new model is coming out(mgx2) probably at icast. Abu is pretty good about keeping parts for discountinued/older reels. IF they're like shimano they will keep most parts for about 10yrs. Before phasing them completely out.
  7. Hey guys. Been seriously looking at trying a dobyns fury. Specifically the 765. Most reviews I've read have been good but some have said they just feel dead in the hand. So I was hoping some of yall could help shed some light on the fury series. Also if you could compare it to any the rods i list that would be really helpful. Some of the rods I've used are: powell endurance and inferno, Daiwa tatula, duckett micro magic and micro magic pro, irod gen 2 and fiber, halo daylight and the $99 skeet reese rod. Can anyone compare the fury to any of those? Thanks.
  8. I had the same problem with my powell inferno. I used a dremel and a really sharp knife.
  9. Yep!? that would be my pick too. I have a 754 fiber that i use for those applications and it works perfectly.
  10. Yes but The only "cranking" model they make is a 7' med. mod. If you wanted a different power/length you would have to go with the crankin' stick series.
  11. First one on the new rod. Not a big one but it beats nothing!
  12. Can't speak for the swim jig rod but I have a 703cc, a 704, and a 754 fiber and other than some sloppy epoxy work on my 703cc they have been perfect. I had a duckett micro magic, a daiwa tatula and I currently have a powell inferno and 2 endurances and the endurances are the only ones that can compete with my irods imo. The balance on my 754 is better than my 7' duckett and my 7'3" inferno. Sensitivity is the same between the genesis 2 and the fiber series since they are built on the same blank so the fiber is a really good value. The only rod I've owned that I have thought was more sensitive was my tatula but i hated the textured blank so I sold it and got my 704 and it has been hands down my favorite rod. Matt is a really helpful guy too, if you have any questions email him. He always replies within a couple days. Hope that helps..
  13. Hey guys. I was flushing the bearings on my daiwa tatula and my butterfingers dropped the little bearing "c" clip that holds it in. So my question is, is the reel still usable until I get the part from daiwa or do I need to set it in the rod rack and wait until the part arrives? Thanks.
  14. Look at what showed up at my door today.. ?
  15. I wondered what that exact noise was in my chronarch... Wish I hadn't sold it now!
  16. Whoops. I should've clarified. I was talking about the Revo. Thanks! Which reel(s) do you prefer over it? Other than the steezes. Lol
  17. Thinking about getting a MGX as a graduation present for myself. How has yours treated you?
  18. Shimano curado 7:1 (can be found for $125-140) irod gen 2 704 or daiwa tatula 7' mh xf. 40lb power pro or 14lb stren original
  19. Figured I'd give abu another shot. Orra sx 7:1 with lews 95mm handle
  20. I've never used a rod that had brakes on it!! ?
  21. My 2016 line up and newest addition.
  22. That's a pro qualifier...
  23. Durn bait monkey lured me to TW. He knows I'm looking at a new truck but he just doesn't care...
  24. I own a D, i, and an E. The D is an absolute tank. It's very smooth and casts pretty well but if I'm going for absolute distance I pick up my super tuned E. I can make a 60yd cast with 3/8oz head and 5" swimbait. If I fished tournaments I would definitely want all i's though. They're smooth very powerful and mine casts almost as far as my super tuned E and the svs brakes are wonderful when dealing with wind. I generally have one brake block on and the dial set to 2.
