Ex-Fast Action And Braid?
hey guys l'm looking at picking up a new rod&reel for froggin' flippin' and pitchin' and I was going to use 50lb. power pro but the majority of the rods i'm interested in are ex-fast actions. so I was wondering how would an extra fast action rod handle braid with the drag set fairly tight on the reel? I would think the no-stretch braid combined with a stiff tip and tight drag would break it. would a fast or mod. fast action be better for what l'm wanting to do with this rod? thanks.

Tatula. Tws Grooving?
just get the curado and you won't have to worry about grooves. .the curado is the solution to the tatula grooving. lol

Chronarch Ch100B Part
I forgot the handle was like that on the chronarch b. since it is I believe J Francho is right. an Antares handle might fit it though

Chronarch Ch100B Part
if you're willing to spend the money a hawgtech or one from hedgehog studios would fit&look very nice.but if you're trying to do it cheap you can just order a stock handle from shimano.they don't make parts for the b series any more but a handle from the e-series curado and chronarch should fit it as well as the handle from the g-series curado&citica.most all of shimano's low profile reel handles are interchangeable. if your star drag isn't "swept" then you will need a straight handle for it to fit properly though.i have a b- series curado and ordered a curado e-series handle, handle nut& nut retainer& it fit perfectly.

2015 Reels
l suspect there will be a Citica i at icast 2015 and if so I plan on getting one of those& possibly a quantum energy.i've always found the energy's attractive and I would finally like to be the owner of one! may even try to hunt up a shimano curado D&E I would love to add those two to my arsenal.

Fishing Line Questions
since you'll be using it for topwaters too that eliminates fluorocarbon since it sinks.so that leaves braid and mono.for mono I use 15lb. on my casting gear and 8 or 10 on my spinning gear when I use braid its usually 40 or 50 on my casting rod& 15 or 20 on my spinning rods.if your fishing from the bank& you fish around a lot of snags I would go with mono, its a little more abrasion resistant&if you get snagged you can easily break 15 or 10lb mono.you can also use braid with a leader if youre fishing from the bank.i cant tie leader knots worth a crap soif you can tie good knots then braid with leader would be the way to go imo.braid will last longer and be more sensitive than mono but not as abrasion resistant.leader to braid size doesn'tmatter you could use 12lb. mono to 20lb braid if you wanted to.

How Do You Guys Cut Braid?
I use my pocket knife& a lighter. l use the lighter on the tag end of my line after I tie the knot so the tag end doesn't fray all the way down to the knot.

Diawa Tatula Vs Duckett Vs Omen Vs Tcs Vs Savvy
l recently bought a 7ft. med. daiwa tatula and I like it so far.l was worried it was too light of a power when I got it but I think that's just the mod.fast action.l can't tell a bit of difference in sensitivity between it and my powell endurance.the build quality is excellent and with braid it makes a nice light t-rig rod. I had intentions of buying a duckett ghost but when I went to BPS to look at them some had cracks in the epoxy, guides were crooked even the duckett logo on one rod was partially missing.so I bought the tatula.i looked over most of the ones they had and they all looked very well put together.if duckett can tighten up on their QC they will be a hard company to compete with because I think their blanks are really good but until then i'll stick to my tatulas and powells.

How Many Rods Do You Carry When On The Bank?
usually 3 for me.one for frogs, jigs&heavier spinnerbaits, one for t-rigs, light spinnerbaits and chatterbaits&a spinning rod for jerkbaits/topwaters.i carry a forth one during the spring/summer for swimbaits occasionally.

Shimano Curado Bantam 200
if its in good shape then jump on it.i recently got one.it was in an open cardboard box in my buddys backyard he said "trade me your lews and you can have it".l liked the thought of taking on the challenge of cleaning it up&fixing it if need be so l brought it home wiped the mud off it opened it up cleaned the dried out grease out of the gears polished the gears applied new grease&it now runs as smooth as my new curado I! I hated the handle on it so I ordered(from shimano) a curado E handle assembly for it & its now one of my favorite reels.

Halo Daylight Series
I had a 7'3" med.hvy. daylite and with braid it was a very nice rod for the price but if l was using mono the rods moderate action combined with mono's stretchiness,l would miss quite a few fish.Their customer service in my experience was very good they answered every question l had. l have since parted ways with the halo(traded it for a 7'med. daiwa tatula)and other than a chip in the finish & a bent guide it still looked & performed pretty good.

Daiwa Tatula Rod Actions
hey guys, assuming that falcon and daiwa are participating in the rod trade in at the BPS classic sale i'm looking at getting a tatula ,lowrider or bucoo. i got to get my hands on a st.croix rage &I didn't like the grip, guides or reel seat so I ruled st. Croix out.for those who own the tatula rod I've noticed they have an action labeled regular or reaction is that more of a crankbait rod action? I ask because they also have fast and ex-fast action rods too. i'm going to use this rod for worms, lighter jigs, chatterbaits& occasional frogging so I want a fast to med.fast action.would you choose the daiwa over both falcons or are they about the same in terms of sensitivity? thanks.

What Reel Do I Have?
thanks guys! I've been wondering what model it was&to be an "old" reel it is still VERY smooth&casts further than some of my new reels! I got one heck of a deal on it then if they're going for $80.i traded a WELL used speed spool for it& I originally paid $50 for the speed spool.

What Reel Do I Have?
hey guys I recently traded my lews speed spool for a shimano curado but I don't know what model it is.i don't even know what gear ratio it is. the only numbers & words on it are CU-200& the piece of the frame above the line guide says curado bantam.its green&it has a bearing on the spool so I guess it doesn't have super free(?).anybody know what gear ratio&model it would be? thanks.

Lews Lfs Or Orra Sx
I had both too&they both had magnetic braking.the lews and abu threw lures about the same distance for me and between the two I would take the lews.it was smoother&quiter & didn't have clutch issues.the abu I got was probably a lemon but I still liked the lews better.if you can spend like $10-30 more you can get a shimano citica and imo beats both of those reels....I'm a little biased towards shimano though. not a fanboy yet but i'm getting there.Lol you are correct the old model had centrifugal braking.i assumed you were talking about the new model

Which St. Croix?
hey guys been thinking about picking up a new rod at the bass pro spring fishing classic& I was going to trade an old ugly stik for either a falcon, duckett, shimano(if they're participating) or a st. Croix. but I cant decide on which model st. Croix to consider. I've been looking at the premier, mojo bass, and the rage. which one of those three would you pick and why? and would you pick one of those st.croixs over the other brands I listed? thanks.

Lews Speed Spool
they are one of the better $100 reels out there.they blow the abu Garcia orra sx out of the water imo.my buddy liked my orra better than the speed spool that I sold him,so he traded me the speed spool back for the abu.imo it was his loss.the lews was smoother, casted better, looked better&held up better.I hadn't had a minutes trouble out of the lews but the abu had clutch bar issues from the start. I ended up trading the lews again to another friend for a shimano curado B.i think I ended up getting the best reel between the 3 of us.haha
