  1. But I've been bringing one home for my roomies here and there. The last time, I tried a couple chunks and it was awesome ! So today (fishing was tough BTW, only caught one good one) I brought home a nice, clean 12 lb'er. I just did the quick fillet on it, and handed my room mates two big slabs. They turned it into fish nuggets, and we just used a light coating of Louisiana Fish Fry, and a thin layer of olive oil in the pan, and BAM ! I was telling my room mates > This fish is off the hook ......then I remembered, this fish actually came off the hook "in the net" ! It was meant to be dinner ! Peace, Fish
  2. Not bad. Reminds me of the old 80's group 'Missing Persons'.... Fish
  3. Well, almost always "tip hooked" only once. I'll hook them from the head / nose end "IF" I need them to be hooked on more solidly, for a longer cast. But If I can get by with it, I'll tail hook them. They break off 10 X's easier this way... sometimes even purposely breaking themselves off (sacrificing their rear end to get away) however, if you can lob a tail hooked crawler out to where you need it, on micro-light gear, it will litterally crawl across the bottom, dragging your hook and line behind it Big bass totally can't resist this..... sometimes Peace, Fish PS, if you nose hook them, you can work them across the bottom with a slow drag, or short stitches.... but if tail hooked, it's WAAAY better to let the worm do its own traveling

How about parked right beside me while I catch a double digit bass ? LOL Peace, Fish
  5. Well hey guys, if you want a song to hate on (because I'm still kind of tripping you don't like that first one (Senko, it's badd, right ? ) Here's one that's really out there. You REALLY need to hear this one on a good, balanced, high powered system system Lotta' young people love this stuff (dubstep, glitch) and at least 1 bald headed 47 year old who will never grow up LOL Fish
  6. So Lund and Bird Dog, I'm just curious, what types of music you guys do listen to ? I have a very wide taste in music myself. Whatever you listen to, I bet I have some of it in my collection...... but I bet not one of those songs will sound like this recording does on my system. Hey, so how about this one ? I actually have this in my music collection, and it's a fantastic recording, with some deep bass, and great separation Of course kids love it, but adults just trip to hear it like they were at a Disneyland concert LOL Just watched it I actually love this song LOL Fish

Ya' know, more and more, I find that my favorite new songs are becoming harder and harder to classify into any specific genre. Most of the stuff I listen to now is a mixture of 2 or more of the following; Alternative, techno, rock, rap (no ghetto BS), dubstep, R/B.... etc. I like a little of all of it, but all of none of it Regardless of what I listen to, it really needs to be recorded well, with lots of sub, mids/highs, good separation, etc. What's the point of having a high end stereo system, if it doesn't sound good cranked up ? Peace, Fish Music is pretty important to me though
  8. Lund, your kidding me ? Your talking with a guy who listens to any genre (except maybe.... uhhh.... did you mention disco ? WTH ? LOL) from any era..... and this song was just REALLY well done. In fact, I was just checking out some background stuff on this song, and I found out that when this group first asked Neil Young for permission to use it, his lawyers said NO... his advisors said NO... all of his peeps said NO, NO, NO..... But then finally, they got Neil Young himself to listen to it just one time. He loved it, and immediately gave them permission. Peace, Fish
  9. Of course Bassn, I think you would agree that the weight of the gear makes a big difference, right ? .....which is why I probably could swing, even bigger fish in on my swimbait gear.... but as I said earlier, even if your gear doesn't fail > fish do come unbuttoned at the stupidest possible times ! Peace, Fish
  10. Hey Lee, I much prefer to catch fish ! That's why I'll be throwing a big, heavy swimbait on 50 lb test.... then, on the next cast, pick up my micro-light and flyline out a tail hooked crawler Whatever works baby !!! FISH ON ! Peace, Fish Can't wait for Mon-Tues I'll be using live mini-crawlers to catch my Split Tails, and using these 8" to 14" Split Tails to stick a bunch of nice Stripers Whoo Hoo ! And BTW, anybody who didn't like live bait fishing, probably should not even bother with artificials for Stripers in these spots..... right now anyway. I'm talking to a whole bunch of trollers, and they are doing lousy.
  11. Some of you other old guys will remember this original track, by Neil Young - Old Man (1971).... which was a great / popular song in it's time. But this 2011 remix by Redlight Kings - Old Man..... I really wish I could play this track for any of you that like music. Absolutely one of my loudest, smoothest, most defined, and clearest tracks, to date. Straight to the demo folder Not to mention just a kick **** song Hope you like it, Peace, Fish
  12. I love live bait fishing, but between my experiences using sunfish in LA and AR + the fact that they are a wider bodied, spiny, harder to eat meal, than other fish such as, in your area, shiners..... and finally, scientific studies done by In-Fishermen which showed that bass greatly prefer a longer, skinnier, more cylindrical bait fish when given a choice..... Let me just put it this way; It doesn't bother me much that they are not legal in Cali. Now, let me come fish a crawler (correctly) in that same water Peace, Fish
  13. Well, keeping in mind that I use pretty heavy gear for my swimbaits + 50# braid.... I've swung in bass, in the 6 to 7 lb range.... but a double digit ? Not. A teener ? Absolutely not ! Even if all your gear holds, there's always the chance of the fish coming unbuttoned, and crashing into the floor of your boat ! Gotta' keep that in mind too... Lip it, or net it..... or just forget it LOL Fish
  14. Thanks again guys. BigE > .....yes, yes, okay.... I did some photoshopping on it "Had to shrink it a little, to get it to fit in the picture" LOL Peace, Fish
  15. Very nice ! Continued success to you Fish
  16. Thank you 00 Well, I actually have an underwater case, that fits two of my Canon A series cameras. It works well, + it looks all high tech and everything... But to be quite honest, a straight up underwater camera would be cheaper and easier to work with. I just got the underwater case because I found a steal of a deal on it (a closeout) + it fits two of my cameras. Peace, Fish
  17. Thanks guys. Norcal, that is either the worlds biggest Crappie, or the worlds smallest Golden Retriever LOL Cool avatar though Peace, Fish
  18. I think these will mostly be bass... so general bass section should be okay, right ? I like the timing of these next two shots The fish was a 15.6 lb'er... Do you think she had any energy left ? LOL Tasty !!! This is a nice 6 or 7 lb'er I was actually fighting. You can't see the fluorocarbon leader... but... Check the fish below and two the left, checking out this fish, while it fights. Isn't that weird how they do that ? Kind of cool to catch it in a photo though.... Love this shot Gotta' love a big, bad Dino-fish Anyway, hope you all enjoy them.... And, hope you all had a great turkey day, and got a belly full of some awesome food Peace, Fish
  19. Here's the thing > Sure an agressive Smallie will eat a small Bluegill, or other sunfish, but probably even a lot more often than that, it will eat a crawler ! {fished correctly, of course} So why bother with gills ? The crawls are just too easy, and very effective. Peace, Fish This is how much I like fishing live worms
  20. Yes, the last of the falling tide, as well as the first of the incoming. But lower (skinnier ) water, for sure. Their is also often a hot bite, right before dark. So, no matter how long and tough the day has been, it would be dumb to try to cut out early, with enough light to put the boat away. I'd rather struggle in the dark, while thinking about those good ones I stuck right before I got off of the water Peace, Fish
  21. Started out kind of tough. Fished for like 4 hours for 1 bite, but that turned into a nice, strong 13 lb Striper After that, I moved to another area, and still, it was tough until about 2:30pm.... But between 2:30pm and 5pm (dark) those suckers went on a tear ! They were slamming so often, it was hard to keep two poles in the water. Ended up catching 5 more fish, but all smaller, between 6 and 10 lbs. Must have missed 8 more slams as well. They were just chewing ! Pretty cool too > The water I'm fishing, a large shallow bay, gets down to like 1 or 2 ft on a low tide, and as it got close to the bottom, I could start to see these big wakes shooting all over the place. + when they would attack my Split Tail, they would often chase them to the surface, them hammer them like a top water lure ! All kinds of big boils and splashes Had a blast Got back to the ramp, and talked with several anglers, and nobody else seemed to have been catching them. I think those guys must have "challenged themselves" right out of a successful day, by trolling their artificial lures..... and even, bait fishing with "bait store" bait. Can't wait to do it again Peace, Fish PS, Next week, I think I might have to do some live lining of tiny (4" to 6") Split Tails, with no weight, on one of my micro-lights Whooo Hooo
  22. Hey Deep, their is an old video, by Glen Lau, called "Bigmouth". If I'm not mistaken, this is the video that shows lures being sucked in, and spit out multiple times, and the anglers above never having a clue ! {of course we are all saying..... yea', but maybe those guys suck LOL ......and, I bet they were not using braided super-line either LOL Peace, Fish
  23. Caught my bait pretty quick 2 Split Tails and 1 Squaw (bonus bait ) Long story short, they were eating pretty good I caught 3 fish in the 13 lb range, and had several slams, runs, and drops. Sorry, no photo fish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But hey now ! As you might have guessed, I have spent a LOT... no, a TON of time running around in my little boat. And fortunately, I have run into very few and small obstacles. Until today ! On the way back, I'm at max rpm (5500) water was like glass, I'm pretty tired and relaxed..... when all of the sudden "THUD" !!! The motor never skipped a beat.... but my heart did ! So of course I immediately spin around to look behind me, and in the prop wash I see a LARGE fish {I dunno' like 20 to 30 lbs ?} do two big spirals. Weired part was all the blood. Either a Striper or a Salmon I guess. I think this is so rare, because basically all big fish know how to get out of the way of a boat, or else they would not have gotten big in the first place LOL This fish could have been sick, or otherwise on it's way out.... But that definitely woke me up ! Peace, Fish PS, My roommates all asked if I turned around and went back.... Well, I totally thought about it, but just as I was going through an area with fishermen on both sides of me, is when I slammed it, and I really didn't want to be an arse, and hammer the breaks on, crank a big U-Turn, only to go back and find nothing.
  24. Tom, your commentary was spot on ! Really sucks, don't it ? Fish
