  1. Thats a brush jig or flipping jig. Can be used for just about anything. For dirty water I like black and blue but that's a confidence thing, havent noticed and increase in bites over say green pumpkin. I normally dont use a single tail grub as a tailer but if fishing around docks when the gills are spawning I could see this being a great option. My favorite trailors would be Zoom super chunks or Paca Chunks. I wouldn't mess too much with the weed guards, maybe remove a few strands carefully at the base.
  2. Ayye Roadwarrior, come lock this please. Because I'm such an idiot.
  3. Nevemind, I guess asking a question on a forum is forbidden.
  4. I'm asking for opinions. Not just siebert
  5. I like to tie my own jigs during the winter, tackle warehouse doesn't have much selection for pre painted jig heads, but I'm looking for a good medium wire jig head for casting, I was looking at sieberts jigs and I'm wondering how heavy of a wire is on the arky head and brush jig, along with hook size (if possible) thanks.
  6. Hopefully its better than the gl2
  7. on the great lakes they make a huge impact, they do run up rivers in late spring, they're kill offs throughout the summer and we set up bottom rods for salmon and trout from piers Using them as bait.
  8. My buddy has one, pretty light, balances great with a Lews SsiH, not the most sensitive, but for an IM6 blank it's not too shabby.
  9. Hmm, not a clue. Maybe a new Generation of Revos are on the way.
  10. Selling a few rods and want to get a nice froggin stick, anyone use this rod? I walk frogs over matted out hyrdrilla and milfoil so I need something with a good tip too.
  11. Isn't if called Missouri craw?
  12. I'd go for it, $100 is a good deal, that rod gets a lot of good reviews.
  13. recently got a few Powell rod and like them a lot, want to try a Dobyns someday, however the Powell Inferno is a very nice rod for $130
  14. to each there own I guess, I personally like the butts on my Powell rods
  15. I throw white Spinnerbaits all the time in natural lakes, I imagine there is shiners and other baitfish in the lake, and the bass still eat it so it's fine by me.
  16. a moderator should pin this.

Casting a jig is one of my main techniques for big shallow smallies.
  18. Look decent other than obnoxiously large butt section, Kinda want to see how it compares to the other rods in the $60 - $100 range.
  19. alright, then I'd consider even a 7' 6", 8' could be pushing it in small creeks, I fish large open areas so it's not a concern.
  20. I would go with a 9', especially if Youre planning on float fishing with it, that extra foot will pick up more line and the extra foot will also get you a bit more casting distance. I dont own one of these rods but use a 8' 6" Shimano Clarus ML and love it
  21. Fluro sinks so you get great sensitivity and you're invisible
  22. Seaguar InvizX for spinnerbaits. Nice and soft, also has a little stretch so it's nice for reaction baits.
