  1. are you joking? A flipping jigs isn't going to be good on almost ANY spinning rod. Thats not what spinning rods are for.
  2. well it really depends where you're fishing the dropshot, if you fishing clear deep water for smallies, a worm or baitfish replication bait will work best, but if you're fishing with a casting combo around fallen trees for largemouth and pitching it around cover a creature bait may be the best choice. All depends on the situation.
  3. Hunk of plastic + dropshot = fish catching machine.
  4. Fenwick HMG for sure. A lot of good stuff about the *** too.
  5. There is a pinned thread all about jig fishing, lots of valueable info. Check it out
  6. It should be fine. If you're worried about fish seeing your line use a fluro leader.
  7. might have to try a few of these. Pricy though.
  8. What are a few heavier jerkbaits around 4 inches long. Want something about 1/2 for long rip rap banks
  9. right. They seem like different beasts to me.
  10. my favorite is still CX, not too much memory at all
  11. just oredered some of that. A lot of people suggest it and it's on sale so why not.
  12. I find them very dull compared to owner, Gami and VMC hooks and they almost run for the same price!
  13. They fish better in heavy grass than a Spinnerbait. They have a little more pull than your traditional double willow Spinnerbait. As cool as the chatterbait style baits are I'll stick with my Spinnerbait. There is a lot of information on this site and many other on that style bait. Just do some looking.
  14. either way, it's not really relevant.
  15. Love red. Little less visible but I can see it above the water very wellL
  16. doesn't the hot water trick only work with nylon lines?
  17. Cranking rod Reaction Bait rod Texas rig/jig rod Dropshot/Tube rod.
  18. I've had 8 pound on my pier casting rod for kings and my float rod for months and the line isn't jumpy at all. I like it a lot.
  19. it was actually on the Mississippi river in the lacrosse area by Tom Monsoor. Not that it has anything to do with how to use them. As far as retrieve goes it is like a crankbait and Spinnerbait mixed. So a straight wind works, I like to stop and start mine when immitating a bluegill, seems like a little snap of the wrist will often get them to react better.
  20. I also made my own. Doesnt look the greatest but it shall do.
  21. that line has like zero memory. It isn't very abrasion resistant though.
  22. I just got a Powell Inferno and a Max 3D. The Inferno is super light, however it's not a cranking rod, it's a 703. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Dont think you'll be disappointed.
  23. I recently picked one up too, feel and look amazing, hope it performs as good as it looks.
  24. I'd go six or seven. 8 is a little much to me.
  25. ditto. I don't think the bass cares about that shiny finish when it buzzes past its head.
