  1. I'm loving my tourney mg speed spool and would highly recommend it. I got it for 50 dollars on sale, but that's over. You could probably find one on the Flea Market for 80-90 bucks.
  2. That is a slauncher, to use the big-fish vocab. Great fish!
  3. Can't beat live bait for sheer numbers. Great job, man.
  4. Just curious, what does it look like to go to a classic defiantly?
  5. Okay, sending an email to my grandpa........ He likes fishing, but he's more the "nightcrawler, anything I can catch" guy so I'm not sure he would enjoy it that much. I know nothing about it, so couple of questions: How much does it cost? Do you just go for the weigh-in, or is there stuff offered all day(s)? Do you think that a guy like my grandpa would enjoy it?
  6. I trim the skirts on mine but haven't experimented with taking them off altogether.
  7. You mean what I know lol
  8. Are legs on a frog important to you? I would think that in heavy cover like a mat or thick pads, they wouldn't be that important, but they'd be utilized more in clear water. Thoughts?
  9. Looks sweet! Looking forward to some pics of bass you catch on them.
  10. Here's rootin' for Ike! That would be such a cap to an amazing season for him.
  11. Creek chub. I catch them all the time in my creek.
  12. My Grandpa lives near Greenville, and I'm in NC, so I'd like to but I'm not sure if it'll work out.
  13. Full disclosure: your fish is much bigger than anything I've caught. Great job!
  14. I have the Abu Garcia Vengeace and have 0 complaints. Okay, so it's not a G. Loomis, but it performs very well. Like many people will tell you, when ordering an Abu Garcia rod, they're typically heaver in action than their rating might suggest. So my 6'6 Med actually feels like a 6'6 Med H. Just something to keep in mind if you go with it. Also, you might try trolling around the flea market or asking people if they have a 80-100 rod you could pick up for 50-60 bucks. Good luck on your search!
  15. You crushed them! Those are some great fish.
  16. Good luck, man!
  17. Nice man. I won't rain on your parade by saying it was.....never mind.
  18. I used tackle boxes for a little bit, then gave them up in frustration. I hate lugging them around the bank. I switched to backpacks, which are SO much easier. My tackle organization is ultra simple, because I fish two minutes from my house. If I'm going somewhere farther away, I'll put more stuff in. The backpack has two pockets: Main pocket: Two plano boxes with hard baits. Anything from jerkbaits to spinnerbaits to deep divers. Small pocket: A bag of senkos (for wacky or texas), a bag of craws (for trailers, texas, or Carolina), and a bag of finesse worms. I have like 50 bags of finesse worms, so I'll often carry multiple colors. I keep a scale with a tape measure in here, some pliers, and a small container of hooks + weights. That's it! Remember, keeping it simple is not always keeping it underprepared.
  19. I've actually caught a nice bass on a squarebill cranked on a Zebco Dock Demon (10 dollar combo, has a geat ratio of like 1:2:1). Long story, but it can be done!
  20. Advertisement length: 1/3 of ad Side effects/you might die warning: 2/3 s of ad.
  21. That's a great deal! Thanks for sharing.
  22. I shy away from sandals and open shoes like Columbia for the simple (yet painful) reason that tiny rocks and gravel get into the bottom of your shoe. No fun.
  23. I need to try their stuff out. I would of the other day when ordering some jigs, but they only have one of their jigs in 3/8s, so I went with Terminator. Bummer.
  24. I am enjoying my new Lews, but I agree with the others on this one: they're great in the under 200 hundred dollar range, but I'd go with Shimano over that.
