I know that Brent Erlher loves the Flappin Hog, which is similar. I haven't used the Physco but it sure looks awesome.

I wouldn't put them on a small jighead. It can be done, but you will not have as good of a hookup ratio.

Honestly, if I bought everything of mine brand new (most of what I have is bargain bins and used), I would just get Green Pumpkin and Black/Blue. They both work on my ponds, and for that matter, just about everywhere else I've gone.

I have a bad track record of bank fishing there. Still haven't caught anything. I have a former FLW co-angler in my church who fishes tourneys there all the time. He has said he'll take me out somtime, which would be really cool. In the prespawn, it takes over 30 pounds to win an tournament on Falls!

I hate to admit it, but I still have not dropshot. Time to change that.........

I have taught myself to skip. It's pretty painful to watch me, and I still end up with "professional overruns," but it's a small price to pay to get into the places where you couldn't without skipping. Point in case: I was fishing a pond with my boss. The water was full of large limbs and docks. I caught several nice bass skipping a senko under the dock, while he was forced to watch because he couldn't skip. Just practice, and you'll get better.

I just watched an old FLW show in which Brian Thrift worked a jerkabait very fast, faster than I would fish a fluke or topwater, and caught the first 20-pound bag ever recorded in FLW history on Kentucky lake. Just goes to show, conventional approches aren't the only ways to catch bass.

Well.....on the plus side, they didn't get skunked!

I know, he's the awesomest guy ever. I work in landscaping/mowing. We pass ponds all the time on the way to work, not to mention Falls Lake, and we both look at them. It's not unusual to hear the following comments in the work truck. "There's one breaking out there." "Dang, topwater would slay them on that pond." "Water's a little muddy since the rain hit." Yeah, I have it pretty good

My boss took me out today on a very private, stocked pond that his Grandfather is part of a club on. We had a johnboat, and started beating the banks. I caught 4 on a wacky rigged senko. We then moved to an area FULL of lily pads. The entire time on the pond, you could hear bass blowing up in the middle of the lily pad sea. It was like a BamaBass "Topwater Strikes" vid with just the sound. It was the first time I'd ever gotten on a good lily pad bite. I caught 8 or 9 hopping a fluke over the pads, and my boss caught 3 or 4. I didn't have my frog with me, although I did catch one on a buzzbait. I lost count of the exact number I caught, but they were amazingly hard, violent strikes and for the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 pound size, they fought like monsters. It was a blast. He said that the fishing was really, really slow for that pond. He told me if you get on a good bite there, you can not only catch 25+ fish, they are usually better fish over 2 1/2 and they almost always catch one over 4 pounds. On any other pond, I wouldn't believe him, but I totally do. I must have seen over 100 bass jump out over the lily pads chasing something down. Couldn't believe it. I can't wait to get back there!

I have fallen in love with Rage Baits. My first bag was given to me about 3 months ago. I fell in love with the Cut’R worms I received, and I’ve caught 20+ fish on the worms in that bag. I went to a pond the next day, and found a bed with a small male on it. I fished for it for about 20 minutes with various baits. No luck. I remembered I had the Rage Craws, and put one on. Fifth cast, and boom. I had him on. After I caught him, the big female moved into the nest. I’d estimate her at 4 1/2 to 5 pounds, a really solid fish. I worked on her for about 10 minutes, and finally got her to bite the craw. I fought her to the bank and, much to my despair, the hook popped out and the bass swam away. She had swam away from the bed when I pitched to her, and thus I didn’t see her bite and didn’t get a great hookset. So anyway, I discovered the magic of the Rage Craw that day, and I’ve been fishing them the last couple of weeks ever since with great success. What they look like: My camera isn’t charged right now, so I can't put up some pics. The bait four inches long, and comes in a pack of 7. There’s a large family of craws, and you can get smaller and larger versions, as well as a chunk version for a trailer. They come clamshelled for optimum durability and performance. It has Rage Flanges on the tip of the claws, and has a hook slot that’s perfect for hiding your hook. It comes in a wide variety of colors. I personally got the color Blue Craw and have been very happy with the results. Rigging and retrieve: There’s very few wrong ways to rig this bait. Texas-rigged, both weighted and weightless, Carolina-rigged, dropshot, Rage-rigged, or split-shotted. There are even more ways to fish it. It has incredible action underwater, and can be easily buzzed on top for some great topwater action. It’s a great flipping/pitching bait, and with it’s hook slot, it’s great for fishing cover when rigged weedless. It makes a phenomenal jig trailer as well. Price and Availability: The Rage Craw is available at many major retailers, including Gander Mountain, Cabela's, Bass Pro, Tackle Warehouse (online), and many other places. It retails for $4.99 (that’s for a 7 pk.). Although I have not had the chance to get into a lot of their baits, I definitely think Rage Baits are worth the price. They have incredible action underwater, to the point where the bait looks alive. I tried long and hard to find something I didn’t like about the bait, and so far I haven’t come up with anything. That’s quite unusual for me, and in my level elevates it to the level of my favorite soft plastic baits, like the Cut’R worm, Yum Dinger, Keitech Swing Impact, and the Yum Wollee Bullee. It’s a great addition to my arsenal, and I can’t wait to catch some hawgs on it. Next up, I'd really like to try the Rage Bug and the Thumper worm. Can't wait to test them out the next time I have a chance to pick some up. Try them! See what all the Rage is about!
