Deformed
That's kinda awesome. I'm guessing those are lifetime memories of an attempt in a career of professional boxing.

People Abusing Fish
One of my pet peeves is people dragging their bass seemingly twenty yards up the bank or boat swinging and then dumping their bass unceremoniously on the bottom of the boat. I never do either of those.

Bass Fishing Magazines
I love Bassmaster myself, but I agree with Crestliner. Oh, and Outdoor Life and Field and Stream are great outdoor magazines, if not solely about fishing.

Why Is It That Hardbaits Are Not Common In The Most Popular Soft Bait Colors?
There are many similar colors, they're just not named the same.

Storm Swimbaits
I find a bunch of Wildeye swimbaits, and I've started throwing them. Just caught my first fish on a crappie swimbait thrown over panfish beds. They aren't what I would call killer lures but when the time is right, I think I can get a bite on them.

Lipless Cranks?
I love lipless crankbaits, but they aren't something I throw all the time. They rock for prespawn and usually in fall I'll throw them a lot too, but I almost always throw soft plastics before crankbaits. You'll find out if they want a lipless crankbait or not. Believe me. They either will crush it or reject it.

Picking The Right Hooks And Lures
Get some stickbaits such as a Yum Dinger, get some 4-inch finesse worms, and start from there. That's what I did.

Trouble With Top Water Lures
Those are great, proven lures. I have been catching them on topwater about a month now, so it's probably not a bad time of year, although you may live a good ways from me. Have you gotten any strikes that didn't result in hookups? Sometimes playing around with the retrieve helps a lot. Let the lure sit for a long time, then twitch it a little, pop it a coupla times, then let it sit still again. Sometimes they don't want a noisy, aggressive retrieve.

New Article: The Cost Of Becoming A Pro
I've had sooo many people tell me that I'm gonna become a pro someday, that I'll get on a bunch of pro staffs and fish a classic, but I tell them, in my opinion, being a pro is work. It's not just about fishing, it's about winning. I'd rather fun fish, anyday.

8+ Pounder In Small Lakes?
Too true.....I had a guy tell me he caught a 34 inch bass out of my pond. I could believe a 24, but not 34.

Let's Talk Fantasy Lineup For Bassfest At Kentucky Lake
Well I had the day off school today and I watched the FLW Kentucky Lake event from last year. Brett Hite did really well there and it seems like the FLW went to that lake a lot, so I switched him out for Kurt Dove. A lot of people have picked him but you can't pick all dark horses, as much as I like to.

Let's Talk Fantasy Lineup For Bassfest At Kentucky Lake
Plenty of time to pick your rosters for this one. I think it's gonna prove to be a really cool tournament. From what I've seen about Kentucky Lake, cranking is king on it, so I'm looking for solid crankers who don't have everybody and their brother picking them. Here's mine: Bucket A: Keith Combs I wasn't the only one who wanted KVD, so I decided to go with Keith Combs, who is a fabulous cranker as well. Unfortunately, 7.2% have picked him already, but compared to the 42.1& that picked Kevin, I'm content. I really like Ike as well, and I think Ike's gonna get back at it after not making the 50 cut at Havasu. If I change my mind, it'll definintely be for Ike. Bucket B: Mark Davis Mark is a solid angler, and more importantly, an experienced cranker. Only 2.3% have picked him, so I consider him a steal in this bucket. Bucket C: Brian Snowden Lot of variety in this bucket. I seriously considered Brian Snowden and Hank Cherry and finally decided on Brian. A dark horse but I think he'll do well. Bucket D: Kurt Dove I'll take all the dark horses I can get, and Dove has 0 ownership right now. I think this lake will set up well for the texas people, and I'm confident he can catch them. Bucket E: Kevin Hawk Nobody really stood out to me in this bucket, so I went with Kevin Hawk for no real reason. Good luck guys! Hopefully that 2000 dollar giftcard will be mailed out to one of us after this!!

Is the Ned rig just a small fish bait?
Did you catch that on Havasu?

Let's Talk Fantasy Lineup For Lake Havasu!
I went with dark horses: Ike, David Walker, Alton Jones, Stephen Browning, and JVD. They really helped pointwise because not a lot of people picked them. Because of that, I actually increase in rating but I'm 345th on the leaderboard. I got up to 99.0 percentile yesterday but dropped a little to end up sitting in 98.9th percent, which is better than where I was before Havasu. This is my first year fantasy fishing, and I'm loving it. I have had so much fun deciding who to pick.
