  1. I feel they're equally useful and dont see a bad side to using fast or slow reels. most of the time I'm just happy to be fishing.
  2. i use lipless cranks and have never lost one, but i can admit that I use regular cranks more often. maybe I have less confidence in them than ordinary crankbaits. I'll get over it haha xD takes time and effort. but i still dont look forward to losing lures to the bottom.
  3. i use rat-l-traps with caution lol and for good reason. lures arent cheap.
  4. Am i the only one that steers clear of sinking jerkbaits and crankbaits? I dislike them mainly for their snagability on the bottom, it sucks. I know they have their place and i know there are ways to prevent snagging the bottom with them but I still dislike the whole idea of them sinking. does anyone feel the same way? and if not when do you feel is the best time to use a sinking jerk/crankbait?
  5. cool cool i figured this^^^ but the other reasons make sence too.
  6. While noticing the gear ratios getting higher and higher on new reels I thought I'd ask this question. -what are slower reels best for? and do you prefer a slow or fast reel and why?
  7. each of my set-ups has a small black clip tied on (no swivel bearing). If you have many set-ups you dont have to change lures as frequently all you have to do is grab another stick. BUT in the event of you having to change a lure, the clips make life easier. just use the best knot you got when tying your clips on. they dont kill the lures action, just use the small black ones. they're strong and less bulky.
  8. spinnerbait crankbait jerkbait if I could have a 4th it'd be drop shot. but honestly i have best luck on those three.
  9. bomber "model A" crankbait.
  10. the rod racks they have are DOPE!
  11. they have VMC short shanks that are bronze. idk how good they are but there's a great deal on them.
  12. I'd get the size 6 version though, thats what my lures take.

What one of these is the best deal on some replacement hooks for my crank baits? and by best deal I mean cheapest for the strongest rust resistant hook.
  14. take good care of your equpiment and try to keep up with the new technology.
  15. makes sence. glad I'm hearing what other's do too
  16. lol here in maine you'd die trying to fish in winter. I wish fishing in winter here was worth it, but its not lol.
  17. I know many of us fishermen do things at the end of each season to prepare for the next so I thought i'd share some of the things I do with hopes of finding out what others do as well. Maybe we can pick up some habbits from eachother, so here's my list. 1. Remove line from all reels and give the reels a good cleaning and lubricating. After cleaning I spool my reels up with NEW (preferibly upgraded) line. 2. After cleaning and re-spooling reels, i clean my rods with soap and water. Get the cork and foam grips looking like new. 3. Go through my lures and replace any badly rusted or dull hooks. 4. Re-organize my tackle box. 5. Clean my tackle box (soap and water). 6. Buy new equipment for the upcoming season (lures, rods, reels, ect.) 7. print out maps of local fisheries (if available). 8. TRY NOT TO GO CRAZY!
  18. turns out it is made of wood too. "the long casting minno is the only long casting wooden lure ever made" "the weight transfer system makes it easy to cast and gives it great realistic action" thats nice to know hahah
