  1. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't Rick Clunn the "zen master?"
  2. I've tried that in other boxes before. Not a fan. Takes way too long to just grab a hook and I dropped them off the safety pin one too many times.
  3. I use the Plano Waterproof 3500 size for my dropshot weights and hooks. It's the perfect size and a quality box, but my issue is the gap in between the dividers and the top of the box. My #2 and #1 Gammy dropshot hooks are now totally mixed together, which is no fun to sort out. Is there any modification to make that fixes this issue?
  4. Three things: 1. Don't throw swimbaits on braid 2. The 101 probably doesn't have enough line capacity 3. The 301 may be even better suited for what you want, but the 201 should be okay too.
  5. There is almost no physically noticeable difference between 6.3:1 and 6.8:1...
  6. I highly doubt anyone on here has already had use out of the Caenan. It's not a very hyped up reel, but that doesn't mean it's a bad reel. I wouldn't pay attention to the bearing count very much. Shimano is famous for making better use out of less bearings. Personally I would pick the Caenan over the LFS because I trust Shimano quite a bit, and I've had some bad experiences with Lew's reels.
  7. Honestly braid is the only way to go when it comes to my spinning reels. EDIT: If I HAD to pick a line, I'd use 6lb YZ Hybrid or 7/8lb FC Sniper. Definitely use some line conditioner when putting any non-braid on.
  8. Sunline Shooter if I could pick anything.
  9. Stormr, Simms, or Huk are probably some of the best. I have a Cabela's Guidewear suit that I really like.
  10. Gotcha. I thought he was talking about the rod lines in general. I see the logic there.
  11. Why would the Tatula cast longer than the Endurance? That doesn't even make sense.
  12. You sacrifice a lot of torque and rigidity with a smaller reel/ spool, which inevitably means smaller gears. You may see me throwing swimbaits on a Curado 200PG, but definitely not on a Chronarch Ci4. At least not for the type of swimbaits I'm thinking of. Additionally, 7.5oz is a very light 300 size reel, which is standard for swimbaits. I've never heard anyone complain about the weight on a 7.5oz swimbait reel before...
  13. Tackle Warehouse by leaps and bounds. Gander acts a bit more corporate-esque. TW is a lot more friendly and helpful.
  14. You just saved my life. This is exactly what I was looking for.
  15. That's why I like Sunline, their ratings are accurate. A lot of American companies label their lines as 15lb when it should be 20lb to make it seem stronger. I'm trying to figure out how much 20-25lb Defier Armilo will fit on a Curado 200PG.
  16. We're talking about glide baits, a usually single-jointed hard swimbait. These are big baits that can be anywhere between 2.5 and 10oz. Looking more on the side of 20lb Sunline fluoro or Defier.
  17. I want a 300E, but it's a little expensive. Plus, it'd be nice if Shimano would release a Curado 300I. Hopefully that's next. Not a fan of Okuma, kinda brand loyal to Shimano and Daiwa.
  18. Since I've lived on the west coast for almost a year now, it's about time for me to get into the glidebait game. I plan on picking up the Megabass I-Slide, Duo Realis Onimasu, and Jackall Gantarel. I was wondering what reels you guys use for these big baits (2.5-3oz). I really can't drop $300 on a swimbait reel, but I was looking at the Shimano Cardiff or even the Curado I 200PG. I've seen some guys use the 200PG for bigger swimbaits, is the reel suitable for those applications? I already have one and love it. If you have other recommendations let me now. Thanks
  19. Anything lower than the Citica, I'd go with something Daiwa. I might try the Casitas sometime, but probably not.
