How Far Down South
Central AL is the place to be. I have a lake and a river within ten minutes, and another lake within 30. I am 2.5 hours from Guntersville, 2 hours from wheeler, and 1.5 hours from the coosa and the Alabama river. Cant beat it

Hello From Alabama
What part of Bama are you from? I live in Tuscaloosa

Copolymer vs florocarbon
I don't think the fish are going to tell a difference in the clarity so much as the line diameter. If the water is clear enough to matter I think lighter line would matter more. I fish a lake with 10ft visibility and do perfectly fine with 12lb copolymer with slow moving baits.

Megabass Vision 110 issues
do you have to send them back? One of mine is that bait that I really don't want to get rid of because it caught so many fish. I just want it to work again lol

Strike king rage bug
Alabama craw on a texas rig for flipping. It doesn't hold up enough to work as a jig trailer for me.

Megabass Vision 110 issues
suspending perfectly! I wil try and get the weights unstuck thanks for that advice! I get them stock slow floating but typically play with the hooks and split rings to make them suspend so these were already modified.

Megabass Vision 110 issues
So I pulled out the jerk baits this weekend for the first time since last year, and my vision 110's are doing something really weird. They are floating nose up super fast. As soon as I finish twitching it the bait goes nose up and floats fast. Both of mine do it. I tried adding split rings and it did not help. I stored them indoors in good conditions this winter so the bait was not affected. Im fishing them on twelve pound fluro, the same rod and line from last year. Anybody got any ideas?

My life lesson learned this year... don’t take fishing for granted
Hey guys, I haven’t been on here in a few months but have been back lurking around this week, so many of you don’t know me. Anyways, over the last few months I’ve realized a valueable lesson about life and fishing that I felt the need to share. I learned that time is an extremely valuable thing... especially when it comes to time that we have to go fishing. I know this is a cliché saying but many people do not realize the truth in this statement until life hits and they can’t do the thing they love as much as they used to anymore. Back in high school I used to fish tournaments every weekend, fish every break, and every other time I had a chance. Normally about three to four days a week. I gruaduated in last may and decided to join the army and start college around the same time. (Not a great idea there’s no extra minutes in life). Long story short last weekend was the first time I’ve been fishing since I graduated. I remember being mad if I didn’t have more than four hours to fish and wouldn’t go. Now I’m just thankful to be back on the water at least for a few hours a week. You can bet that even if I only have one hour I’m going to take it now. I guess the moral of my story is no matter how old you are, don’t take the time you have to chase these little green fish for granted. I’m just glad I learned at 19 instead of 49 and had regrets looking back.

Can/Do Bass Spawn on Ledges?
We were using 3.5 in yum dingers on shakey heads to catch most of our fish. I caught some on a dropshot and finesse jig also. Looking at the lake there are a lot of good flats. If you're not having success on the main lake try going back in the creeks some. There is a good flat in the north west creek that has a massive ditch running through it and deep water nearby. I'll add a pic of the obvious one I saw. Remember if you know where they are in the summer, you know they will be going in few months. Look for a definite spawning area and find the travel routes, such as the ditch or a steep wall. The fish will be somewhere in between.

Can/Do Bass Spawn on Ledges?
Two weekends ago I won a local tournament catching fish doing this. The lake is just like yours with 20 feet of water not ten yards from shore. I was fishing rock walls on the main lake or first part of creeks that had shelves. The fish were off the walls on these shelves and were all full of eggs or had red tails. It was my first time seeing this but yes Fish will spawn deep. Side note all but one were spotted bass.

War Eagles are around the same price and are much better in my opinion.

Favorite Clear Water Baits?
@Scott F @Pilot. I tried jerk baits for the first time in the summer last year on Lake Martin, in Alabama. To my surprise i got bit on it more than any other search bait I tried. You just have to have short pauses, almost like a fluke. I went night fishing on the same trip and used it around dock lights and it also caught more fish than any other lure we tried.

Carolina rigging?
I use two rods. First is a Diawa tatula 7'2" Mh and the second is a Abu Garcia Varitas 7'6" Mh both with braid and a 12# leader. I like the tatula better for it but when I use a really long leader the longer rod helps. All the fish in the picture were caught this weekend on a CRig on the tatula. RIP the one on the right

Big splashes
I live in Alabama and we have grass carp, big ones at that in almost every lake river and pond. And last weekend I was fishing on the local river and couldn't figure out what the hundreds of surface busts were. Finally saw one and it was a 3ft gar.

Culling System Mounter
I have been using the ardent culling system. The ones that you can spin the balls and put the weights on them, but im tired of them rolling around in the floor or the tackle compartment. What do yall recommend to mount/hang those?

What are you catching em on?(post pic
I actually stocked up on these in all colors before they went out of business. Still my favorites. For some reason to me they work better than the booyah ones.

Trailer
I only use two trailer colors, no matter that my jig color is. Black and Blue and Green pumpkin. Another good all around combo for all water colors is a green pumpkin jug with a black and blue trailer, it works all the time for me. My favorite trailer is the rage bug. I can bite it at different sizes to make it how I want it and the action just seems to work really well. It also skips amazingly.

Color difference
Never used a junebug jig, always a worm. So black and blue always. I just mix the trailer between sapphire, GP, and Black Blue

Prespawn river fishing
All the spro little John series baits work great for me in cold water. They have a tight wiggle and cast far in the spring winds.
