Which Daiwa would you recommend
Application is everything. Heavy applications a sv103 is a great real about 200. Bfs throught medium the alphas sv is very palmable and is a great reel. Both are highly receptive to mods and both are great out of the box.

How long will bass live out of water / fish handling
I am all with the reasonable time thing. If I have a hook to remove I hold them in the water until I am ready. High water temps have them stressed already so in the dog days I don't even bother with a picture unless they are over 4.

Are there any good bass lakes in or near Long Beach CA?
Fishing with my grandpaw in that area and we came home skunked a lot. I would be night fishing in that area because of all the pressure. If we were out to catch something and not kill time we got in the car and drove for at least and hour to get away from the city.

Beaver/creature Vs Worms
I like the large worms for search baits or to use on the deep weed line. If i am in or near cover i will be on a baby brush hog or a beaver.

Recommendation needed for BFS set up

Rainshadow Swimbait/Umbrella Rig Build
Sweet clean looking build. Less is sometimes more. How do you like the handle as i am having a rod built with that style????
-
Spinning real seats
Some of the megabass rods have that but i dont know if its on the spinning rods or not???
-
Spinning real seats
The fore grip seems to be a lot longer on the rear nut seats as well. Hate to spend big money to buy or have one built and hate it.

Anyone else kind of a jerk?
I will share what is working with other bass fishermen in boats that i believe are also C+r guys like me because even in a tourney i am there to have fun. I will also talk to people and if there good solid people i will share with them. The guy sitting on the bucket on the shore is getting nothing

Rod vs height
I have been trying to figure out a formula for rod handle length but the rod itself is a function of what you are trying to accomplish. I feel like taller people would appreciate a longer handle on a jig or frog rod but the length of the rod for frogging has more to do with the cover and application than the height of the user.

Spinning real seats
So as i look around the higher end rods have bottom up reel seat nuts where as ever spinning rod i have ever fished is top down. What is the difference and is it better for some strange reason????

Can't get hookset on senko!?
I am always the odd man out i use 2/0 ewg hooks when texas rigging. never had one bend out and always seem to hook up. The standard IMO is 3/0 but the wire diameter goes up a lot between 2/0 and 3/0 on a standard gauge hook.

New reel needed for jerk baits
I would see how it meets your needs before you spend any more money. The bulk of my reels are 6.3 and there are very few times it does not work perfectly. The exception would be frogging i like the 7.1 or 7.3 better for that. I own a 7.9 and i cannot seem to find a good use for it, so it stays on a flipping setup.

New reel needed for jerk baits
Never had issues with 6.3 gears for jerkbaits. Have you tried it yet???

Can't get hookset on senko!?
Why not run them wacky with a 2/0 hook. Never miss that way.

Something I got curious about...
It has nothing to do with that for me. I buy daiwa reels and St croix rods. Why try 13 if I feel the products I use are better

Crankbait Line
10 or 12 # co poly. No reason to use flouro for cranks and deal with all the drawbacks. Co-poly is strong has a little give and has exellent knot strength.

Deep cycle battery?
If your only power is battery then i would stick with lead acid. They require more maint and are not as light but carry more charge than the same size of any other style. There are always tradeoffs but if your only source of power is those batteries you bet i would be running lead acid 31's or larger. If you have the big bucks then maybe the newer tech of LI might be better but thats out of my price range

Arsenal for co angler
I also fully agree 5 as a rider is tops. I use 5 or 4 as a rider with my regular partner. Setup trays that go with each rod and it makes packing for the trip soooo much easier.

Tips for a beginner?
try a 4" keitech shad impact on an owner weighted hook. The good news is guys catch fish on those in salt and fresh so in your case it would be hard to beat. I llike the green color but others work well. Also try night fishing. During the hot summer months a lot of fish shift to feeding at night,

New reel needed for jerk baits
Three good choices 1 daiwa alphas. 2. Shimano core 3. And if money is no issue a zpride.

Drop Shot Reel ($200 or less)
I use the 2000 sized reels. They are lighter and smaller. Never had any issues of any kind and my two oldest advantage 2000 are still running strong. I fish 3-4 days a week and they get use every outing. My son uses them also after I was tired of fighting with kid gear. I run 6lb flourocarbon or braid. If you plan on using over 6 then the larger spool will make a big difference

Bass Holding in Inlet to Lake
4-5 inch swim bait with weighted hook. Match the hatch for color and speed. Second would be a crankbait again match the hatch. I would be thinking Norman deep n or 6xd.
