  1. Never seen a smallie out of there; plenty of largies though. I'm breaking in my fishfinder over there this Sunday.
  2. Dayumn right he does brosif.
  3. Permits are free, yet I know many that don't attain one. I think that the Columbia Association would only slap the hand the wrist if you play dumb.
  4. Eh, I call bull5h!#. Taco Bell girl is still waiting on your order. Bwahaha.
  5. I know the dropshot is the bees knees.
  6. I was in the same boat last season. It definitely is the go to technique for the mid-day. I pretty much keep the rod tip elevated between 12 and 2 o clock and add more height to the presentation with my elbows at least chest height when the line's out 15+ yards. I was once a firm believer in that it was only a boater's technique. Man was I wrong. Second to that, for a mid-day bait, would have to go to the shakyhead with a zman finesse worm or an aertail.
  7. Dropshot and a slow crawled craw jig. The association has been mowing the hydrilla so punching is pretty much at a minimal. Later on, I'd run a spinnerbait or Chatterbait along with a topwater like a torpedoe.
  8. It's roughly 2.25 for the shorter route and close to 3 the safer route; low gear is your best friend. I only caught dinks (2lb'er at most) but I wasn't running slow techniques. I'm sure you can pull 5'ers out of there, but I'd make at least knee high wading boots to get some prime casts in.
  9. I bought a bike for that pond alone. It's like fishing a private farm pond. Have fun.
  10. I've goose-egg'ed a handful of times. I have seen some eerily elongated silhuoettes by the rock bank next to the pier. It could be a bowfin but with milky muddy waters the last few outings, I think the darker snakehead would stand out much more.
  11. Need advise on baits to pack for Wayson's Corner in Upper Marlboro. My job is taking me there tomorrow. Just looking to fish about 30 min to an hour.
  12. Couple folks I know that reported it was told about the process. One lucky wretched got to go fishing on weekday morning and saw it. I wish I could fish a weekday morning.
  13. DNR sure was quick to electroshock and clean out Elkhorn's snakeheads. And here I thought I'd get the chance to fulfill my duty and go Rambo on one.
  14. d**n word floated quick as ****. Your Chris' roommate right? Did he get that from David?
  15. They sure do within two hours (unless you don't mind yakking or rowing a boat). Usually they trickle back at about 11ish.
  16. Sweet. That's one for the Alphas. Btw, how long have you had it and how's the thumb clutch treating you nowadays. I know with my Revo 3's (cranker and jerkbait setups) the thumb clutch gives in sometimes which requires a harder press. But that's just around the end of the season. I usually replace all three springs (slide cam and bunny ear springs) in the winter.
  17. I've found all three in the 2-350 range on ebay (new/used). I need a nudge to pull the trigger on the Revo LTZ racing, Alphas SV, or 16' Aldebaran BFS. Please give me some first hand feedback on these reels. Thanks.
  18. Is that beaver dam still looking prime time bass condo complex compared to last year?
  19. Haha. That d**n snack shop will kill you. Btw, that cove is a great spot. Generally though the north banks, especially by the bridge, is where I tend to fish. With the d**n, I just bang the snot out of the rocks with the cheapy squarebills; that entire stretch is usually good for about 3-5 bass. Now that point by the bench (far end of the dam) has grass all over. You can run topwater all day there but I seem to get the most action with the ridiculous booyah clacker buzzbaits.
  20. Centennial is going to be pedal boat city this weekend. However, pm and I can share a handful of my columbia/elkridge ponds with anyone here.
  21. In a way I have started over by giving noobies their start. It's probably happened at least half a dozen times. The best experience was donating all my catfish gear to my buddy's church group. I'm a full time basshole.
  22. That's mighty fine purdy colors. Thanks for inspiring my next trip to Bass Pro.
  23. Alright. Now it's time to go Rambo on a bish.
  24. Not myself, but I have seen photos of some caught in Savage. Also the Anacostia stretch (Bladensburg Waterfront Park in particular) on an outgoing tide will give you a good chance at catching some. I've been trying to go Rambo on some this year, but still goose-egged. It's not entirely a waste of time though as I've seen pics and including some from Bladensburg where DNR themselves are doing the chopping.
  25. Awesome sauce, broham. I'll see you out there again. Tight lines!
