  1. I don't think there is one.
  2. Dick's is at it again. They have buy 2 Lucky Craft baits for $12 in store AND online. I grabbed two 1.5 BE Gills, two Gunfish 117s, and two pointer 98XR jerkbaits for like 38 bucks at my local store today. I think that's a pretty good deal for LC.
  3. Nailed it. I would also add in some line suggestions though because the advantage of having those 4 configurations is you can run vastly different types of line to cover all your bases.
  4. I was super into this review until he said he was testing them both tossing a little 1/8th inline spinner. That's the kinda lure I toss on spinning gear personally. I wouldn't benchmark some reels with such a light bait.. it's not really what they are designed for.

I'll admit it.. I grabbed a few packages when they were 25% off at Cabela's. I literally bought them for one reason, to tie onto my kids rods for a "turn key" swimbait solution. At least that's what I tell myself to justify it when I have like 20 packages of Keitech's stashed away.
  6. Anyone hit up Thorn Brothers spring sale this weekend? I hit it up this morning to see what was left. They always mark down stuff to 50% off the final day. I'm glad I did.. altho my bank account isn't. They had a Steez XT spinning rod and a bunch of Zillion rods left. I couldn't help myself. I love me some daiwa.
  7. Wow you did really spring for a nice setup! I grabbed a Tatula Elite 7 ML Cody Meyer spinning rod at a sportsmans show for 20% off that I'm going to use this year for dropshot/neko/ned rigs. They seem like really nice rods. The tatula SV is very appealing.. might have to try and snag one this year.
  8. What lakes you fish in the North Metro? That's my stomping grounds.
  9. YES! The 110 is perfect for smallies. In fact it's one of the best multi-species baits i've ever thrown. Bass, walleye, pike.. everyone will eat it. Didn't Scott Martain basically win his recent FLW event tossing around a 110 for smallies?
  10. https://www.powerteamlures.com/custom-panic-box/ Power Team is doing a special on their "panic box", $20 + shipping for an assortment of their baits. Best part is you get to pick the colors on everything. Great deal. Apply code PANIC20 at checkout
  11. So I'm at my in-laws place in small town Minnesota.. I swing by the local walmart to see if there's anything good in the fishing clearance section. Oh they just had a few racks of KVD cranks for $1.50 a piece.
  12. I should show off my "old but paid off" ride... haha. My boat isn't anything fancy but I love it. Instead of getting a fancy bass boat we bought a new camper/travel trailer this year.
  13. The Spro Little John has been a good producer for me.
  14. Ok seriously,WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!? I must have one.
  15. Congrats on the new boat! I use a HDS7 so if you got any questions let me know. Cool finder.. I really like using the community maps on the Insight Genesis platform. There's some great maps for lakes around the metro. What transducer are you running? I upgraded my boat to a Total Scan this year and so far I dig it (just been out twice). What are the new combos? My Dobyn's cranking setup got stolen last year and I've replaced it this year with a duckett 7'4 white ice cranking rod and a 6.3 duckett 360R reel. Haven't used it yet but i'm excited to. Going to run 12lb floro.
  16. I really love this hook. Only one I want to use anymore.
  17. Will you have access to a car? There's a MN fishing thread too you may want to post in.
  18. I use the drop shot in a few different scenarios, the nice thing is it's very versatile. I use it fishing "deep" like 15 feet or more, to target structure or deep vegetation/rocks. I use it around docks.. it's a great dock presentation believe it or not. Just put it on the edge of a dock and wiggle wiggle wiggle.. bass will pull out and grab it. It's also a great followup bait when you do get bit on a search bait. I find that when i'm not getting bit on cranks/swim jigs/chatter/spinners I start tossing the dropshot around and usually get bit in places where fish SHOULD usually be. I'm no expert by any means, but i'm very confident in it these days. As far as baits.. man there's a TON. There's a bazillion "finesse" worms. Roboworms and zoom finesse worms seem to be the most popular. You basically want a smaller worm that will suspend and move a LOT with very little twitching. Plasma tails are great also. I've found a lot of big bites with 4" senkos on a dropshot. The funny thing is you can fish any 'minnow' profile plastic baits too.. like I do really well with Gulp minnows or little 3" swimbaits. A LOT of people don't seem to do this, almost everyone just tosses worms. Berkley makes some cool finesse twitch minnows that I like. Live leeches can be pretty deadly in the summer too. I've actually caught a bunch of crappies dropshoting little plastic minnows. Walleye will bite too.
  19. I'm going by what's caught me the most fish over the years.. Berkley Powerworm Roboworm Keitech Easy Shiner Senko (duh!) Chigger Craw/Rage Craw tossup
  20. I used to just tinker around with drop shotting. Just use it in the dog days of summer when the bite can get a little slow. Now I basically use it ALL year. I have a dedicated rig for it now and basically keep it available all season. It just flat out produces. Shallow, deep, clear, muddy.. seems to never NOT get bit. I've even done well catching crappies with it (with gulp minnows). What don't you like about it exactly? Just curious.
  21. The spinnner bait is a favorite around where I live. EVERYONE throws it, all year. I've switched mostly to chatterbaits and swim jigs as my non-crank searchbait BUT I do whip out the spinnerbait when the weather is bad. Windy, overcast, or some rain... out comes the spinner bait. Really seems to crush in the summer when the weather is junk. I don't see many chatterbaits/swim jigs being tossed so I feel more confident knowing that the fish have seen a spinnerbait a couple million times.
  22. That new travel rod Scott Martin has been using in his videos looks pretty sweet.
