Thanks for the tip. I'm going to purchase some next time I'm in Walmart. Mostly my fingers crack open at the joint seams in winter and that stings. I think the dry weather and having wet hands in the wind add to the problem.

I use a GoPro video camera mounted on a PVC pipe. I use Tipard video editing software. You can find several free video editing programs by searching on Google. The problem with a GoPro is it doesn't have a viewing screen so you have to hope you have the camera pointed to capture all. I downloaded an app to my iPhone that syncs with the GoPro and where you point your GoPro shows up on the iPhone's screen. I have a pair of Kobalt 8" needle nose with cutter. I once had a buddy put two hooks from a treble in my right thumb. I used my left hand (I'm right-handed) to both cut off the hooks and the needle nose to extract the hooks (they were buried past the barb). I guess each person has to purchase cutters depending on the size hooks they use.

My very best job of all time is the one I have held for the past 20 years. I arise each morning when I want, I retire each night when I want, I do what pleases me in between those times, I also have checks being deposited in my banking account -- four checks per month. I started planning for this job when I was 18-years-old. What a country.

Our mechanical device was positioned over the alley and had slots to place the pins. Then we would push down on a bar to move the holder to the floor of the alley, the device would set the pins and would spring back up out of the way. I never got hit by a pin but I remember this one huge guy would throw a hard ball and one night a pin flew out the back door of the building. I did get a mashed finger several times when picking up the ball and trying to set it in the return grove.

At age 16 setting pins in a bowling alley for 10 cents a game. I would man 2 alleys on league night and could make a total of $3. That was back when pins were set by hand with a mechanical device. The next morning all my muscles would be sore. Also no air conditioning and no breaks. If you wanted a cold drink you had to shout for the boss to bring you one. And he charged you 10 cents for it. Man I loved that job

Before each trip I cut about 2 feet of line off and retie my hook. I use braid. You are definitely using too much line. Tell us where you're losing it -- back lashes, cut offs, breakage???

I would also want a 4-stroke motor.

My age is 75, labs are good and I'm not overweight. I have arthritis in both hands, they feel swollen and I can't make a tight fist. Several fingers are starting to curl like a banana. Holding a fishing rod is OK but the next day I pay for it. Holding a steering wheel for a 2-hour drive is hurtful. Left knee has arthritis and feels like there's broken glass in it. Already had orthoscopic meniscus surgery in that knee and doc said he saw arthritis. My treatment -- For my hands I run hot water over them each morning for about half a minute while flexing them. That really helps. No OTC meds have worked for me. Even tried the horse DMSO but that didn't help. Doc says it's osteoarthritis and be glad it's not rheumatoid arthritis. Thanks doc, I needed that. OK, hot water over hands each morning and I do 5 knee bends (not deep bends) each morning for my knee, putting most of my weight on the left knee. Since doing that about two months ago I can tell a big difference in my knee. Now it doesn't hurt and I can go up steps like a normal person. Good luck with all your pain solutions. If you hurt all over you may have fibromyalgia -- there are doc prescribed Rx for that.

I like to buy my bait casters from Walmart. Walmart is local, got lots of price ranges, you can spin them before purchasing, and no question refunds. Why order from a photo and have the hassle of returning if you don't like. Today I'm using three Abu Garcia ProMax, 8 bearing, 7.1:1, which cost me between $60 and $80, depending on the sale when purchased. Being relatively cheap, if one gives me a problem I'll just buy a new one, but that hasn't happened yet. I did purchase a Shakespeare bait caster for $25 at a flea market and it lasted about two years. Like you I like the DBS with one being the "dial" magnetic brake.

Grooving or Groovy is used to express a good feeling.

I sometimes catch a mudfish here in Florida. I get 'em up to the boat and kill 'em. Then I remove the hook and check my line for nicks. I understand they have sharp teeth and sometimes they cut my line. I hear they will eat small bass and bass eggs which is not allowed around here.

To each his own technique. When fishing for bass with a Texas rigged plastic worm the second I feel the bump of the bass sucking in my worm I lower my rod to give the bass a little slack. Then I watch as my line starts moving and then I set the hook straight up over my head with all my strength. If you set the hook at the first bump you could be setting the hook on a small pan fish who just bit the tail. If the line is moving, you are grooving.

Are you saying you will be willing to run a 12v trolling motor on 6v? I would not advise that. Two batteries of the same voltage, connected in series, will give you twice the volts but at the duration of just one battery and the same amps as one battery. If you are after duration, and have a 12v trolling motor, you need to connect two 12v batteries in parallel. That gives you 12v at the single battery amp, but twice the duration of one battery. The parallel connection is the same as you use when you jump start a car. Because you are doing electric motors only I would also install a meter on the battery so I could tell how much juice I had left at any given time.

1--Both my camera and GPS use two AA batteries. I keep a spare set of AA batteries in the boat. 2--I have an inboard gas tank and gas gauge, but I always carry an extra gallon of gas. 3--I make a list of items I need to do the night before I go fishing. 4--I leave a note on the fridge where I'll be launching the boat. 5--I have a list of items to check after I connect my boat trailer to my truck. 6--Never speed.
