  1. Until today winter has sucked but man I don't know what changed they were biting pretty good this very cold (33*) morning (1st pic is my new personal best to boot)
  2. I hold mine by the belly and put the tail between my arm and torso. This keeps the fish from suddenly kicking out and hooking me. The belly hold seems to make LMB extremely still allowing me to remove the hooks with very little movement from them.
  3. Trail and error for me, if it's producing more bites then the other colors and the color is the only difference then that's the color I'm going to throw more and "know" I'm going to catch them with. I don't choose a color right away as it needs to be consistent before it's my go to. Do bass care what color it is vs action? no clue but I feel better with it so I focus more and that's what counts.
  4. I'd like to see a document invented that says "If you want to patent a product it must use the highest quality components available at all times in order for the patent to be active". That would be Z best thing ever .
  5. 6.92lb on a DT Fat bleeding olive shiner
  6. Rapala DT series Helsinki Shad (Best producer for me) Silver DT Fat Bleeding Olive Shiner (Best producer for me sadly no longer made in the Fat series) Parrot These colors have worked year round for me in the ponds I fish. The Storm Arashi rattle in Crappie color (all though more blue then the pictures on TW show) is becoming a good producer for me.
  7. Here in SC it's $10 a year for fresh, same for salt. In Fl non res I pay like $60 for fresh & salt.
  8. I love using Gamblers flappy daddy on my chatterbaits, the way those claws flap behind a chatterbait gets plenty of bites.
  9. Dirty Jigs no jack jigs in Crappie, Bluegill, & Green Sunfish color
  10. I own a white mustang and use that handle on every mustang forum I join. I use it on all forums I'm a member of.
  11. If you do plan on driving to the Lower Keys and are a bit of a coffee junkie you have to stop by Baby's Coffee on mile marker 15 (www.babyscoffee.com). They make Star Bucks taste like poo water imo, I order a few bags every few months.
  12. Barracuda--They hit Rapala's X-Rap Sub Walk (Blk/Slvr) at full speed (30+mph), love that. Black Drum--They taste amazing and pull like a train.
  13. In the ponds I fish chatterbait are mostly effective when a crawdad is used as a trailer and cast and retreive at a slow speed. The vibration causes the claws to flutter constintly which causes strikes, I've caught both bass and crappie this way (I don't fish for crappie either they just hit it). Gamblers flappy daddy has a nice narrow body with wide claws that flutter really well when behind a chatter bait. Netbait's paca chunk have an even wider appendage set up that "wave" to the bass and they hit it pretty hard.
  14. I've been buying D&M chatterbaits before the originals are all gone. Some will probably never hits the water in fear of losing them. Next check I'll buy more cause I can. So in my case yeah too much tackle in chatterbaits, don't care.
  15. Gammy, Owner, and VMC are my go to's.
  16. Rage Tail Netbait Gambler MegaStrike (just started to use there baits and I like there action and durability)
  17. Improve my spinner bait & chatter bait game. I'm also still chasing the double digit bass as well.
  18. All of the above, if it's salt water shrimp has always worked well (cut mullet does well also) . What ever bait shop you go to just ask them where the fish are biting. They will tell you were people have been successful lately and what species is biting.
  19. In the Keys all you need is shrimp, all though the Cuda's really seems to go after Rapala's X-rap sub walk lure (black/silver). I've had more success with live bait then fake lures in the Keys. However if you decide to drive towards the Everglades (Everglades National Park) those canals hold peacock bass.
  20. I went hours with out a bite and then hit a spot I haven't hit in a while and boom 4 bass in 5 minutes. Then it went dead again. DT fat 03 in Parrot is what caused the bites so it seems fatter crank baits in the right color. Storm Arashi Rattling Square Bill 5 in Crappie (more blue then the greyish color they show) recieved zero bites. Going to try a swimjig with a 4'' swimbait (maybe 5'') attached and try the grass lines.
  21. Palomar knot 99% of the time Uni for open eye type lures (spinners, buzzbaits)
  22. MegaStrike Cavitron is the first buzzbait I've thrown (this morning actually) that tracks straight. Booyah, Warrior baits, and Strike King all had a mean left curve I could never fix. Very impressed with Cavitron right now.
  23. I believe you are right, I just looked on google maps and I see the Dam he took me to.
  24. Here are some pics of my Black Hawk bag. Back cushion Plenty of back cushion Thick shoulder padding 3-3500, 1-3600, 1 Deep 3700, 1 BPS about the same size as a 3600 Plenty of room Also a 3rd pocket that holds bags of plastics baits.
