Ever got staples instead of stitches?
My son got 4 staples in the back of his head. For some reason he thought it would be a good idea to sit in a cloths basket with a beach ball, as he tried to get in with it he tipped over and hit his head on the corner of the wall. I didn't know head wounds bled so much so I kind of freaked out but he was totally cool and tried to get back in the basket. so much for learning he just turned 4 btw.

Unorthodox techniques?
Ive done it in the boundary waters from a canoe and it does work as long as your shadow is behind you. I have caught fish in pressured waters like this also but mostly 1-2 lb dinks.

Using Fish Finders?
i use mine almost strictly for locating structure. once I do that it's knowledge that tells you weather it is a good spot or not. there is so much info in the articles section about structure and what makes it good or bad. any cheap depth finder will work but the better quality finders offer more power to help you get through weeds and pick some of the more subtle things like bottom composition. so no I don't rely on mine for actual fish finding mostly locating deep weed edges or other types of structure. btw I use a cheap unit I have an eagle fishmark 320. works great unless in heavy weeds.

Lures i can't get to work for me
I use them when ever the water is calm and have luck but i have the best luck in low light conditions. I use walk the dog style the most with a close second being poppers. i use them any where i catch fish with other baits. buzz baits are another good bait and very easy to work.

Might be getting A Job
awesome place to work I worked the fishing counter for 5 years. when I started I thought "i know some things I am a pretty good fisherman" after my first couple days I remember thinking "I suck"!I learned sooo much working there and being able to talk to so many different people about techniques, locations, electronics, gear etc you really figure out how much you don't know. as long as you don't act like you know everything and are willing to listen to the customers perspective you will really like it. discount doesn't hurt either.

Funniest Fishing Mistake
I was fishing with a buddy in his ranger, I had never been in a boat with a bigger motor than 30 hp so I went to push off with one foot just as he threw it in reverse so I lost my footing and was hanging off the front of the boat by the trolling motor with 1 foot on the deck and 1 in the water, keep in mind that I am 6'1 300lbs lucky i didnt fall in. another time launching my boat I pushed it off the trailer and when I went to pull the boat back to shore the hook popped of and the boat went floating away so I jumped in after it had to swim a bit try to get into the boat all the while there is two guys waiting to launch their boat. once I got it back i realize my phone is still in my pocket my wallet... I should have just asked the guys to get the boat for me but the heat of the moment got to me I guess.

Let's Hear it Boys
If you get suffix DO NOT get 20# I made the mistake of getting a bulk spool of it and am constantly getting wind knots and snapping the line on the hook set. I would say go with 30# or even 50#. ps I have checked my line guides, its not that and the line is snapping anywhere between the knot and 10 feet up, thankfully since i was able to get my lure back a couple times.

First fishing mistakes.
I used to troll for pike with my grandpa and we used bait casters well i caught a nice probably 6-7 lber i got it next to the boat saw how big it was and when it ran i put my thumb on the spool so it wouldn't get away well of course the line snapped. first lesson in trusting your drag.

Trying to get back into it
while i usually want to go there are times when I wake up and wonder if i should just sleep in. usually for me I will start thinking about a specific dock or tree that has produced in the past or how boring it would be to be stuck in the house.

Random GIVEAWAY
I'm in, awesome idea btw.

When your flat out struggling. What do you throw?
Exactly. The knee-jerk reaction to a question like that is a finesse presentation for negative fish. I can't tell you how many times it took a fast aggressive retrieve to turn the trick. Roger I have had those days where nothing worked till I pulled out the x rap xr10 and worked it as fast and as aggressive as I possibly could, really get the forearms to burning but its worth it.

craw tubes on ebay
i will check out *** i didn't realize the prices were similar. I have ordered from ab before and they were top notch. as for the hollow bodies I am a big big fan of the lake fork craw tubes but they are way to expensive for how many I go through in a weekend.

What's Your Most Productive Time Of day?
5 am till 7. I would go earlier but the launch doesn't open till 5. usually start with a rapala x-walk13 or a buzz bait then switch over to a spinnerbait or shallow crank.

trouble with a shimano curado 200b
when I switched knobs with a working curado that should have fixed it or did I miss something maybe I didn't switch springs I will have to try again.

trouble with a shimano curado 200b
I bought two from a guy for $50 both have the same problem, no matter how tight you turn the spool tension knob it wont add pressure. I took the knob off another curado and it didn't do any thing to fix the problem. since they both have the same problem i am guessing that he tried to clean them and reassembled wrong. any one have any thoughts.

Kids fish anymore?
my son is just turning 4 and loves fishing every time I go without him he looks hurt, breaks my heart. I still get him out 1 or 2 times a week though. I think the trick was bringing all kinds of snacks and toys. he will sit and play with what ever and if i catch one i will hand him the rod and let him reel it in.

How to Set the hook on a Spinnerbait?
you mentioned "when you got them to jump" while really fun to watch this can be a bad thing when the fish jumps that is usually when they get off. when a fish looks like it may jump put the tip of the rod as low as you can into the water even. this will help you keep more fish on it did wonders for me.

Some nasty weather and hooks..
I snag a lot of fish with jerkbaits too. I suppose the fish move in to investigate and bam you give them the jerk.
