Any word of Feelfree’s Overdrive???
I saw two of the Overdrives in person on Thursday. They’re pretty impressive looking and the instal looks like it would be a breeze. They come in a big plastic box similar to a circular saw. Obviously the box is significantly larger.

Should Pedal drive kayaks be allowed?
Pedal drives certainly offer an advantage in speed and distance, but I don't think they should be banned from kayak fishing tournaments. Your legs are significantly stronger which allows you to maintain higher speeds for longer distances. With that being said if I had a place to store a hobie pro angler and trailer... Now trolling motors, torqueedos etc should all be banned.

Kayak tournaments
Doubtful I'll be hitting any of the kbf series, but I'm all in on Riverbassin. I make it up to Tennessee a couple times a year. Be up on chick march 25th for a good sized kayak fishing tournament.

Stick bait recommendations
I just found the senko FAQ. My apologies for starting yet another senko alternative thread

Stick bait recommendations
I've always been a huge fan of Senkos. I've tried a few imitations and have always gone back to the original. Now that they're not selling the bulk packs anymore it's time to look for an alternative. I've tried stick baits by bps, big bite, and yum. Any recommendations?

Kayak paddle
I started with an aluminum paddle from cannon and eventually bought into the carbon fiber hype and picked up a Bending Branches paddle. In all honesty I don't notice the difference at all.

Power, Finesse, or Both?
My preference is a pool cue,50lb braid, and a jig, but lord knows I'll work a senko all day if that's what is working.

Need help with floating distance on a river
There's one this weekend in SC. We're going to float a section of the Catawba on Friday for fun and another section for the Tournament.

Need help with floating distance on a river
Since I didn't actually address the topic before. I find that 5-6 miles takes at least 8 hours for me to fish. If I'm fishing in a Riverbassin tournament I try to pick shorter floats, somewhere around 3-4 miles. This allows me to fish an area thoroughly and still make it to weigh in on time. Last year for Riverbassin Cartersville we picked a short stretch on the Coosawattee(2.5 miles) and made it to weigh in with about 30 minutes to spare. With that being said, the take out was a total pain in the backside and then we had to drive 40 miles to the weigh in.

Need help with floating distance on a river
I can't say if the Etowah is better than the Chattahoochee. The Etowah is much further away, but I find it more accessible with more ramps and shuttle service. I catch some nice spots on the Etowah with the occasional lmb and striper. Despite having lived in Atlanta for nearly 2 decades the closest river rarely crosses my mind when putting together a float. I've actually spent more time on Terrapin Creek in Alabama(Terrapin is full of big Spotted Bass). That should change this year. I met someone at the KBF NC that shared a lot of info on the Chattahoochee, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Do you ever float the Etowah?

Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship 2016
So who made it to Kentucky Lake last weekend? I made the drive and managed to pull out a limit both days, but it wasn't anything to brag about by any stretch of the imagination. The weather really destroyed my plans for this tournament. I spent countless hours reading archived fishing reports, tournament results, scouring maps, scouting and prefishing only to throw it all away and focus solely on catching limit both days. Late Friday night I decided to take the safe route find a marina and skip docks for limit. It worked, but it wasn't particularly gratifying. Don't get me wrong I had a blast meeting new people and fishing, but it would have been nice to find out if the work would have paid dividends.

Lowrance software updates?
Well I'm not sure what's going on. I've tried to download that update on 3 different computers on several different networks and even tried with my phone to no avail. I asked a friend to try and it worked for him.

Lowrance software updates?
I can't download the update. Every time I try to download it the connection times out. "This webpage is not available ERR_Connection_Timed_out. This is asinine as it's been going on for months.

Lowrance software updates?
Has anyone been able to download software updates from Lowrance? I've been trying to download an update from them since early December, but just keep getting errors.

sit-in or sit-on
Used to have a Cuda 14, now I have a Coosa HD. Why sit on over sit in? I can stand and fish in a sit on.

Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship 2016
I'm really torn on this one. I qualified and was excited at first, but that excitement is dwindling quickly. I don't like the suddenly we have to pay to join his groups to be allowed to participate in the tourney(in addition to the entry fee). I wouldn't have had a problem with it if it was announced from the beginning. However, as it stands it feels as if the whole thing is being made up as they go along. There are a few other things about him in particular that have tempered my excitement, but this isn't the place for that.

The Kayak Bass Fishing Journey Has Begun
I disagree with this. I prefer longer rods to get the line around the bow when fighting fish. There's also the matter of leverage. You lose most of your leverage in a kayak and shorter rods only exacerbate that problem.

Catawba River
I love a split shot rig with a finesse worm for river bass. I use a light split shot about 12" above the hook and let the current take it.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
I have a DX 703 for senkos, hair jigs, and shakey heads and absolutely love it.

Wacky Rig/hair Jig Rod Help
my mistake on rod length. I could of sworn it was 6'9, but close enough. As for hooks with wacky rigs it's either owner or gammy wordless wacky hooks. The hair jigs are 1/4 ounce. As for line usually flouro, either pline or seagar(sp?).

Wacky Rig/hair Jig Rod Help
I've been using a med *** black 6'9 spinning rod for wacky rigs and hair jigs and have been happy with it for the most part. My one complaint is I seem to lose an obscene amount of fish using this rod. I don't think it's a hook issue(gammy or owner hooks). I'm not sure it's a user error issue either since I don't have this problem with other rods. With that out of the way i managed to break that rod over the weekend and need to replace it. I'm leaning towards a Dobyns champion extreme 703. Suggestions?
