They are really nice. Good hooks and a soft rubber material. But they are a chunky frog. And I think they were just a tad much for this particular pond and the average size fish in it. It always got follows and swipes. But seldom a good committed hit.

Ahh ok very cool! I did get some on straight drags across the Matt or walking it right near the edge. I’m definitely gonna pick up a couple more smaller frogs. Some were hitting it so subtle I was able to line watch to tell if they still had it lol

Yes he does I’m really happy with it. And it worked well. I should have tried it before trimming the legs. But this pond had a ton of small bass I know they would have just tail bit. Man I loved boiling it better than walking. What a cool bite. Thanks Pat! I gotta look those up! I also am learning the hard way. I wish I hadn’t spent years throwing bigger frogs. Ughhhhh.

@A-Jay @casts_by_fly really could not have said that any better. I kayak and canoe fished and bank fished for years. And this year for a small 14 foot aluminum boat. I had the same feelings. Only I knew to expect it. You’re a sail in the wind. Everything affects everything. After a while you’ll start fishing further out from a spot and working to it. You’ll learn to sit on Some emergent grass as a spot lock and such. Biggest thing is be safe. Don’t sweat the fish. They will be there. Everything is different sitting down fishing you are used to standing. Like they said just reverse what ya have been doing. Cast at the bank and work out. Fish those same types of spots. But most of all make trips to get comfortable. And sure of yourself and the boat.

It changed the whole game lol. Obviously this pond has some big fish. But it’s mostly 1-2 pound fish. So it made a huge difference. And that twitch on still frog to make the water ripple like you told me. Man that was perfect

Buzzbait,Texas rigged craw or creature a a jig would be my go to for that type of situation. I’ve always done well with those in areas like that

Ok. So I had to stop at scheels. So I went to the fishing section to look around. We are in summer swing in Iowa. Sunshine and ponds are scummed up off the shore. So I stopped and looked at frogs. I’ve got a few at home. Swamp lords and berkley popping frogs. Last year I caught a couple real sloppily on accident. But I just never have luck on frogs. I was browsing and I grabbed a booyah pad crasher jr. in black. Came home bent the hooks out and chopped the legs down and casted some in the yard. Went down to one of the local close to the house pressured ponds I fish. Overcast today and a lil wind. And I absolutely wrecked them! I can walk this frog better than any others I’ve tried. I put all the tips and tricks all of you have tried to teach me to use. I caught them walking them right along the edge of the scum or walking and pausing it in an open pocket and just barely twitching it to make the water ripple. I lost count. I let some take it so I could feel what they did with it. Missed some caught a bunch. Lost a couple. Had a great time and finally got a frog that I could put all the pieces together and have success!

Zoom flukes are just to slow of a sink for me. The caffeine shad is perfect. Sinks quicker. Heavier and has a nice wiggle wobble on the fall. Don’t get me wrong flukes caught me a ton of fish over the years. But I don’t buy them anymore.

lol if you saw what the kids and catfisherman do to the ponds near me you’d cry. No one’s gonna get arrested. You can weekly carry a lawn clippings trash bag out of that place of trash and beer cans. And it’s a shame it’s a nice pond of the edge of a nice neighborhood.

So I’ve been going through tackle and have some stuff that if anyone knows any kids who need some stuff or anyone knows a charity type deal that accepts tackle I’d love to help someone out. People have been nice and gifted stuff to me over the years and I’ve always liked passing stuff along to someone else when it doesn’t work out for me. I crimp the rivet down so it doesn’t spin anymore. That’s why it wore out. But man they squeal good.

I’m gonna get some rivets. I love these bass pro head clacker. They are so compact at 3/8 and nice and short. I don’t like how long some of the baits are.

How do you bend the end of the wire straight to change the rivet and remand it back with out breaking? I mode lures all the time and have no issue buying parts and doing it? Gold blades are my favorite also
