Worn out buzzbait rivets?
Thank you everyone!! I crimp the rivets as well to get that good squeak out of them. And that’s been my biggest producing bait this year. So I’ll retire that one. I bought another to replace it. I honestly probably should buy all they have next time I’m there lol

Worn out buzzbait rivets?
When you guys wear through a buzzbait river do you bend the wire and replace it? Or just retire that buzzbait?

Landing Big Bass on a Kayak
Back when I fished in a kayak ( fish from an aluminum boat now) I crossed there eyes. I lived in Florida then and was always aroudn pads and vegetation. And I straight winched them in. No reason to finesse them around. I’d haul em in so fast they were mad they didn’t get to fight. I get it tho everything moves my lil Aluminum boat around. Wind and fish. As ya know tho everything is way harder in a kayak. I used to kinda high stick them to net them it kinda minimized them throwing slack. But it’s also horrible on rods lol This hands down. Winch them suckers in. Don’t give them the chance in their home environment to do what they do best.

Are Bass Prima Donnas?
This! This was so well said. I have a pond and a lake I can go to and catch 1 pounders all day easily. Sure it’s fun. And scratches an itch. But there is nothing like a ride through the middle of no where to the lake and having to think And hunt for fish.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Had the day off work. Went to a new lake. I didn’t care for it at all. It’s a nature park in the downtown area. Really nice place. But choked out in weeds and very steep drop off banks. Just made it hard to fish the way I like to fish. Got a few bites and one that wanted to be 3 pounds but just wasn’t on a buzzbait. Killed time and rode around running the motor since I don’t run it often. Fished the pond by the house caught a ton of 1 pounders on caffeine shads.

Advice on choosing 3-5 5" Wacky worm colors
Green pumpkin/watermellon red Black and. Blue or June bug And a spike it marker. That’s literally all you will need. Don’t get caught up in colors. Simplicity

Packing fora day on the water
I have a small aluminum boat. And used to kayak/canoe fish. So I keep it really simple and don’t leave anything in my boat either. So I’ve used a Plano sportsman tub and a flambeau soft plastics tub. And some hard boxes. Flambeau tub for plastics and trailers 1 3600 for Jigs and blades jigs 1 3700 for hard baits and buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. 1 small gamakatsu folding box for my terminal tackle And a small tub for my scale and tools and a spare reel and such. I can pick it up set it in the boat and off I go. Usually bring 4 rods that are versatile in use and I’m goood to go.

Thinking about reels that do not have centrifugal brakes.
Something to remember here is bass pro reels and many many other manufacturers are all made by doyo. Sooooooo don’t get to hung up on who’s name is on the reel. And pick something affordable with the features you like. That said my best casting reel for like lures is a Shimano slx mgl71 it slings light lures amazing and was built for it. probably my only non lews ( doyo) reel I like

The Silly Names Thread
Idk anything abut names or anything. And I’m not that smart. But man I’ve caught a absolute ton of fish on that exact color bullet pop lol

I like that! I kinda have the same issue my trailer ya have to be kinda on the money to load the boat so I have to walk out and hook the winch on and winch it up as well. I need to look into making something like that! Looks great man.

Joedodge boat build/set up
This update was a total pain. So the previous owner used an unknown adhesive and glued rubber gym flooring to the bow cap. It was falling apart. And crumbling and bubbling. So I stripped it off scraped and sanded the adhesive off. The bow cap is in rough shape. But the boats 60 years old. In the future I’ll get a sheet of aluminum and replace it. For now it got a couple coats of etching primer and flat black tractor and implement paint. And remounted everything. The corner caps in the back I chemically stripped and sanded satin finish. As far as I can tell this boat has been gray, red, white, and teal lol. I also gave the inside a scrub and vacuumed the carpet really well the one lake being on a gravel road has made it a mess. I think I’m don’t with cosmetics at this point. I’m getting tired of trying to make it something it’s not haha. Great lil boat though.

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
Until this thread I never thought or knew to bend the hooks I must have 4 different frogs at home that I’ve never bent the hooks on

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
Grew up the first 33 years of my life in west central Florida. I still struggled with a frog there too. Just not my thing I suppose

Which pound fluoro?
I’ve fished 12 and 15 pound invizx. I liked the 15 the best personally.

This is spot on well said with everything in it.

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
Oh I fully agree. And that’s an excellent point. I worked pretty hard this past weekend fishing jigs and Texas rigs. All Small fish and slowing down. Found that groove again. I’ve always been great at slow methodical baits. But god I just can’t get a frog down lol. I can’t stand there and fish a frog slow for more than say 10-15 minutes after that I just gotta move on to another bait lol. Yet I’ll stand there and fish a jig all day lol

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
I agree with all Of that for sure. But when I can switch to a horny toad and get in the same cover and start catching them I’m happy. It’s definitely me. But I think it’s the fish too personally. Very seldom do I ever have a bass actually explode and inhale a frog they knock it out of the way, nip what’s left of the legs all That jazz. Mehh I just fish other baits that get explosions lol

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
I don’t think we are alone. I think there’s a lot of fisherman out there who fish on hope and anticipation with a frog. It’s more an entertaining time killer for me lol. Not to say there isn’t people out there who do really well on frogs.

Anyone else not bother hollow body frogging?
Every year I tie a hollow body frog on. I’ll downsize to a smaller one. I’ll get strikes through the slop, I’ll get follows, I’ll trim legs down. And it’s more of a comedy hour lol. Getting fun blow ups and almost hooking fish. I’ll end up hooking 2-3. Then I come back to reality and tie on a buzzbait or a plopper or popper and actually catch fish again. Anyone else just not find frogging that productive?
