So I'm gonna be hitting a lake Saturday that is lined heavily with cat tails and lily pads. What do y'all prefer to flip in there in the heat of summer?

Hot Weather Bass Fishing Help!?
This is true lol. I'll be busy as all get out. Luckily the wife enjoys canoeing and fishing and we can do it together. I should be able to get out early Saturday. Before the sun comes up. Does flipping and punching work well if it's still dark out?

Hot Weather Bass Fishing Help!?
So I'm in Florida. I know it's blazing hot and humid here now. I started bass fishing heavy last December so I fished through the fall bite and springs bite which was amazing. But now that summer is here man I'm having a hell of a time catching fish even flipping jogs and creatures in cover. Is this common for the bite to die down do to the heat and they get slugish? Do any of you even bother going out this time of year?

Poppers?
Thank you! I poked around in the search some but couldn't find a depth. That's what I was concerned of. I wasn't sure if they where for relatively shallow of not

Poppers?

Pitching Cat Tails? Beaver Bait Or Jig?
Thanks a lot guys! I'll have to rig a beaver bait and a jig rod up and work both. I actually have some rattling jigs I bought by mistake. I'll try starting light there no real Matt or weeds. It's just a cat tail.

Pitching Cat Tails? Beaver Bait Or Jig?
So I got a lake I really like now. I did some pitching from my canoe and got some nice fish on a black blue 3/4 jig and a craw trailer. I'm wondering why hat would be more productive tho jigs or just pitching a beaver bait with a 1/2-1 ounce weight? What do yall prefer?

Local Pond Changing?
Thanks so much for all the great info everyone

Local Pond Changing?
Me and my son made a good run at that today. But man it's so nasty the second ya flip through it ya got 8 pounds of it rapped up in your hook and baits. Have to clean it all off every cast. Interesting about us being the last to adapt very true

Local Pond Changing?
That's the thing it's a local community center pond that no one fishes it can't be seen from the rd and looks so scummy why would ya fish it. It's on our local state stocking list, but no signs are posted. It was a really fun lil gem to go fish. No huge fish but a easy fish tank type pond. Idk why all of a sudden it just turned off

Local Pond Changing?
So I have a small pond I fish has a lot of 8 inch to 1.5 pound bass. Me and my son fish it. When they stocked it a couple years ago they adds lie gill but they are now of good size. This pond the bass used to hit anything that ya threw in. Now thy may follow or grab and spit out a senko or craw bait. They just don't hit like they used to at all. It's also gotten really mossy and scummy and they lay under the scum. Only small open water areas can be fished. Could the bite have changed because of the thick moss/scum cover and the fact that the blue gill forage is of good size?

My Free Canoe Project!
Took her out today. Went great didn't catch anything but the motor is plenty of power. The lake I fish by the house has a lot of weeds so I did have to unclog it ocasionaly

My Free Canoe Project!
No apologies necessary! Canoe discussion is welcome! I should have stated I went with the standard motor guide 30# thrust with a composite shaft from Walmart. It should push my canoe along fine as I'm just looking to be able to spend more time fishing than paddling. And by going with that one there's several Walmart near me that sell spare props and parts so it's easy to fix locally. My canoe is 39" at the center. So it's a big boat with a wide beam. I can stand and fish and even stand and paddle no problem if the waters calm. But I plan to make some diy flotation pontoons eventually for added stability when my boy is with me
