Anyone buy hand pour soft plastics?
I’ve seen some teally nice hand pour stick baits and flukes and ribbon tails and such on a Facebook group I’m in. Guy is knowledgeable of the process and makes some great colors at great prices. I was curious if anyone goes this route vs mass produced baits? Just thinking of supporting small business and saving some money

Switched to mono
Entirely possible. Always used fins windtamer on spinning rods. ( used to inshore fish a lot when I lived in Florida) baitcasters have always gotten 30-40 pound original powerpro. I agree there is some seriosuly nice braid out there now

Carbonlite 2.0 combo or something else???
I just looked that up and watched some videos. Wow! That is a nice rod for the money. I had a Procyon spinning rod from them 15 years ago and it was wonderful. Thank you for the help!!

Carbonlite 2.0 combo or something else???
So I have 2 carbonlite 2.0 combos. A Med and MH. They fish wonderful sensitive cast great and are smooth. I can’t stand the white personally. And not sold on the grips. I’ve had them a couple years now. With the sale going on I was considering picking up another medium heavy combo. Orrrrr going Shimano slx and a dobyns fury 7’ heavy. I’m an avid pond and bank fisherman. So there is some demolishing return lol. But things my only hobby. What is everyone’s thoughts?

Switched to mono
Oh for sure that’s all we frog fished with in Florida was braid. Not sure what Iowa will have to offer for summer water conditions yet lol. I’ll probably have to get another set up to frog fish

Switched to mono
So today was the first outing switching from 40 pound braid to 12 pound suffix elite mono on my bp carbonlite 2.0 medium combo. I feel I got better casting distance with the mono. Backlashes are non existent with the brakes set correctly. I was throwing a 3/4 ounce rapala xrap. Which I have always thrown on that combo. I know it’s rated to 5/8 but with braid it worked well. I definitely need to throw that on a medium heavy now. The mono did have some stretch. But the one fish I managed to land today hookset and feel was wonderful. I will be probably swapping my medium heavy over to mono as well. Only reason I’d keep braid on it is to throw a frog this summer. But honestly I’ll probably throw that on mono too lol

Anyone use only one brand of soft plastics?
See this is kinda what I was looking for. I knew there were some folks out there. When I lived in Florida since gambler was right there. Soooo many of us basically foshed gambler baits the selection was gigantic at tackle shops and honestly they made a version of every bait that just caught fish. Ya could mix baits in bags and not worry about scent or dislike plastics or salt. It was just easy

Dobyns fury advice
Thanks so much guys. I’ll check out the suggestions. Honestly it was late and didn’t think about the extra weight of the trailer on baits. Duh.

Dobyns fury advice
I’m wanting another bait caster set up to go with my carbonate 2.0 combos. And I’m looking at the 7’ dobyns fury. I mostly Throw soft plastics, T rigs up to 1/4 weight. Finesse spinner baits 5/16 ounce. And mini max chatter baits 3/8-1/2 ounce. I’m asking a lot of one rod I know but would you guys probably go with a 703 or 704?? Thanks!!

Reaction innovations sweet beaver. Split the tail, or leave it together?
I’ve never fished the reaction innovations. But anytime I fish a beaver style bait. I always split the tails. I generally want the most action the bait will offer.

Soft plastics on boxes or bags???
That’s really what I may end up doing several of similar color baits but different styles in one row and such. I basically only fish some kind of watermelon reddish and black and blue or June bug. So I basically group flukes, ribbon tails and stick baits of similar color in a bag anyway

Setting confidence lure goals this year
Love it! Glad to hear ya have a solid plan. Moving baits is certainly in my plan. As well as learning a whole new water system in another part of the country. I’ll be surprised if I catch anything since I moved to Iowa from Florida lol

Setting confidence lure goals this year
I’ll have to try that this year I planned to get away from large trailers and go more subtle like a small fluke. But I’ll try no trailer!!

Setting confidence lure goals this year
One thing I need to work on is honestly trying to present baits well and trying to pay closer attention to what I did when I caught a fish so I can repeat the exact same retrieve

Anyone use only one brand of soft plastics?
Anyone use one brand only of soft plastics? I was thinking how nice it would be to use a couple colors of one brand. And just mix their flukes, ribbon tails, stick baits and such together in a bag. Really cut down on clutter and a million bags lol
