  1. How you storing your soft plastics?
  2. What do You use as bags when on the bank? I’ve mixed same colors with some. Say 5 inch flukes and 4 inch flukes for trailers in the same bag 3-4 of each and leave the rest at home
  3. See I’m going for the opposite this year. My confidence baits will come out but I wana work harder on stuff I’m not proficient at
  4. That’s my plan. I am pretty much the exact same way.im glad to hear that others have done this as well
  5. Yea exactly what I have then lol. I honestly don’t like that bag at all for a lot of the reasons you guys mentioned
  6. Hmmm. I’m not sure. It’s about 3 years old
  7. So I’ve always been a soft plastics guy. Moved from Florida to Iowa. New water new seasons and temps. So I’m gonna throw spinner baits, mini max chatter baits, and jerk baits and top water frog. Most of the season. I’m gonna try to stay away from Texas rigged stick baits and creatures and weightless flukes as long as I can till the ponds become trashed with scum and moss. Anyone else done this before or doing anything similar?
  8. Very nice! What I’m considering doing is a Plano 3600 and putting baits by color. Pairing different baits of the same color in a spot. So I can maximize what I carry in a small sling pack
  9. Love it! Years ago when I was starting out fishing I used boxes. But I’m busier in life now and making my set up fast and easy for quick trips. And have a box so I was considering trying it again. Love your set up
  10. So I did a search and found a lot of older articles and posts. But as I build out my bank fishing bag. I’m debating trying a 3600 Plano with just the baits I need for a trip. Thoughts and advice?
  11. That’s the exact bag I have now and have had for years lol. I think mines the carry all tho. But still. It’s great bag just now what I want anymore
  12. One of my current 3600 I modified with a dremel too. Mostly because I needed a way to carry a couple spinner baits
  13. Wow thank you! Excellent response. I’m trying to keep things as simple as I can. And definitely looking for a small back pack or sling bag to kind of limit me on what I can carry. But I wana have a nice setup where I only bank fish now. No boat or kayak anymore
  14. I’m basically carrying a couple lipless cranks, a jerkbait, hollow frog,a couple spinner baits, a chatter bait, a couple jigs. Some terminal tackle then soft plastics. Some creatures, some flukes some swim baits and stick baits
  15. So I’m gonna get a new sling bag this weekend as I hate carrying my current tackle bag on my shoulder. I generally carry a 3600 box and a small 3500 box for terminal tackle. And my soft plastics. Stick baits, flukes, paddle tails, and some creatures. How much stuff do you carry when one hopping for a morning or the day?? Any bag recommendations?
  16. Thank you! I appreciate that honesty. After a ton of reading on here last night. I may try a quality mono on the casting set up or just replace the braid as you said and run a leader.
  17. So far all the ponds I fish here are rock a few feet in from the edges but yeah mud bottom. I really think I’m gonna try some flouro. What could it hurt
  18. I’ll probably give that a try. Braid has always been my my go to. But just wanting to expand and try something new.
  19. I’ll shoot ya a message man!
  20. That’s actually one thing I’m hoping is that casting distance is better
  21. Thanks man! I’m definitely gonna look into some flouro or a hybrid line this weekend. Most likely I’ll take the 50 pound braid off my MH and put the 30 pound braid on it. In Florida we pretty much always fished straight braid never had any issues catching fish at all. But the vegetation was thick water was dirty. So it was all in braids favor. I love the sensitivity of straight braid
  22. I’m in the Des Moines area.
  23. Aweosme thank you! Never used flouro for anything burglars for inshore or bass. I’ll give it a shot. My spinning set up is generally weightless stick baits or flukes or wacky rigs. Sometimes a jerk bait or spinner bait depends if I don’t wana mess with the bait caster lol
