New Fishing Area Tomm! What To Rig Initially?
Hmmm ok never thought of the hollow body frog for an initial bait. I've had some hits with it but no success. Do yall work them in open water or the edge of the pads also? Some of the pad fields are so thick it never touches water lol

New Fishing Area Tomm! What To Rig Initially?
So I'm exploring a local trail tomm that starts and stops at two good sized lakes with ponds all along the way. They are known good spots but not overly pressured . I'll be bringing a M/H spinning and baitcast combo. Almost all our ponds here in FL have hydrilla and lily pads and cover. These are also known very Clearwater lakes and ponds. My go to is always a weightless trick worm or yum dinger on one rig. What would yall initialy rig for a second combo since it's my first time there.

My Bank Fishing Tackle Set Up!
Haha actually I get them for a steal at a local tackle shop. I love the gambler stuff. Yeah I'm the weird super patient guy who will throw plastics al day. Today I actually mixed colors and condensed bags lol. And I actually have some of the silver and gold and black rapala minnow lures I like them a lot. I do not have any tilapia colored baits. Only some smoke, and light light purple nd smoke stick baits. A couple of the large lakes near me have huge tilapia I. See spawning a lot!

My Bank Fishing Tackle Set Up!
Lol yeah I keep a mixed bag of light and dark stick baits, and kinda the same with ribbon tails, there's some mixed creature bags also. I could cut down on my color selection of swim baits some. There's also a assorted plastics bag in there. Using a Plano box for plastics is something I've thought long and hard about. It would actually make life easier!

My Bank Fishing Tackle Set Up!
Thank you! This is also my main bag when I go to any new pond or out on my canoe or friends boat. I'm working hard to perfect a few techniques I like this year. Trying keep it light and effective. My biggest battle right now is color lol

My Bank Fishing Tackle Set Up!
So as most of you know I've been trying to trim down my bank fishing equipment to fighting weight! But I'm just one of those people who likes to be prepared and have options. Especially since I fish nasty ponds, canals, large lakes some clean and deep some heavy cover. And since I fish a lot after work I like to always have a pack ready to go and not have to load up different stuff. So got a new bag a lil bit smaller. Tactical back packs work well and can be had cheap. Plenty of pockets and good stitching. I dropped 2 pounds in changing bags alone. I'm condensed down to 2 Plano boxes. And then soft plastics bags. I combined colors of similar looks and bait type. By cutting them in half and mixing them. This lets me carry variety and ample supply. I'm carrying creatures and ribbon tail worms, stick baits, and some soft plastic swim baits. For terminal tackle I have plenty of hooks and sinkers light to punching weight, jigs, chatter baits, frogs in a couple sizes, several minnow type crank baits of size and color, and several colors of red eye shad rattle trap. And a few colors and size spinner baits and inline spinners, and a couple size top water poppers. I'm carrying pliers, a scale, and scissors. It's not for everyone as I have several rattle traps, spinners, and minnow cranks in each compartment. But condensed like this im basically prepared for anything anytime of day my local florida waters can throw at me. And I've condensed it down to 7-8 pounds and easily carry able. May be a pointless post but I hope it helps some of the newer guys who want to pack efficiently for bank fishing. Let me know if anyone wants anymore pics.

Fishing Big Lakes In A Canoe?
I fish some decent size florida lakes. Nothing huge, but I love my canoe. When by myself I sit backwards in the front seat and put a 5 gallon bucket with lid full of water in the front of the boat to add ballast and keep me from being blown around to bad. Always have a life vest and good organization in the boat makes the day easier. I've also fashioned some Rod holder to cut down on the clutter
