  1. Just looked up the beetle spin im gonna grab a few colors and give it a try and see what I get. I really do need to explore more of the pond. I've always caught fish in the one area and stuck to it lol.
  2. Well that's a possibility also. I've never really pan fished much except as a kid with worms lol
  3. Yeah I can see the bite marks on the worm tail. It's deffinatly tail biters, and since I switched to braid I can feel every lil thing now. Now whether they are bass or not idk but I know that pond produces some small bass along with a few large ones. I find myself fishing that one area of the pond due to the hits. I probably need to venture around a lil to try for some bigger guys in the deep water
  4. It's a public pond at a local community center. The fish there are hungry lol I've had them hit on watermelon seed, black and white trick worms, and red shad culprit ribbon tail worms. They won't hit rattle traps, spoons, or flukes or swim baits lol. It's a fun pond to fish I've had a few bigger ones 1-2 pounds all on trick worms yum dingerz where a no go also lol. Just casting out and a twitch and retrieve and pause for a few seconds I've fished it slow and fast. Just thought it was odd. Thanks for the help guys
  5. It's a pretty shallow pond, that's all I've caught in it it 1.5 pound or less bass. Lots of lil guys. I guess it could be pan fish just haven't caught any. I as assuming it's juvenile bass but come to think of it I've caught some real tiny bass in there and hooked them
  6. So I was fishing one of my local small ponds the last two mornings and notice that I was getting a ton of hits but there grabbing the tail and running and letting go. This pond does produce pretty small bass but has anyone else ran into this?
  7. I'm more the central gulf coast area but got quite a few hits and one lil guys yesterday on a local pond I call the fish tank. It's full of small bass but they where hitting at least
  8. Just seein who's in the area and also bass fishing. I'm in the largo/Clearwater area
  9. Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it
  10. Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it
  11. Spool came with the reel it's a shims no quick button release spool so there's no shims it appears the reel just doesn't spool it all the way to te front and back
  12. Ok excellent thanks so much for the help everyone
  13. Ok excellent thanks for the help guys. Yes I've been playing with the drag some in the garage it is a lot different Ya seem to have to be more forgiving with the drag. Hook sets will take me a lil while
  14. It's about a 1/8 away from the very edge
  15. So does mine look over spooled? This is my first real expierence with braid all together im sorry for the ignorant questions it's just so much different than mono
  16. So spooling up my reel I noticed I'm not getting a nice even spool it's done this for years but after seeing some nice uniform spools in picks it made me wonder. I use a rag to create good tension when spooling also.
  17. Ok very cool thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it
  18. I'll pull some off the spool, so when it lays back on the spool loose after casting while fishing are you guys just periodically using a rag and relighting get it while your out on the water? It's a shimano side stab 4000 10 pound 200 yard spool. It's standard moss green power pro 20 pound. Grabbed what Walmart had since I had a gift card
  19. Hmm ok I filled it to the point I normally do wih mono may be to much with braid. Thanks for the input
  20. So I got some power pro line for my who and spinning real like suggested. I backed it with my Trilene big game, and spooled it on in the direction of my reel and held tight in my fingers with a rag. I made some practice casts real quick, I noticed that throwing a texas rigged super worm with no weight if I don't manually close the bail some line wants to fall off the spool and it doesn't seem like it spools onto the reel tightly.this is pretty much my first expierence fishing weightless worms and my first braid expierence. Thanks so much for the help
  21. Just watched a youtube vid, that's probably a lot of my problem. I've also always held the line tight against the pole with a rag while applying it to put some tension on it as it spools I probably shouldnt be doing this either wow lol
  22. I gotta look that up, I've actually always thrown the spool in a bucket of water and strung it up done it that way since I was young. I love learning!
  23. Just saw the xl I'll be picking up some 8 pound xl this weekend
