  1. I wouldn't recommend a micro. Had a few where the connection failed between the SD base and the card. Spend the money and get a high quality sd.
  2. All depends on your price range.
  3. This is really making me itch. Snow still around. Last week's weather means another 3 weeks before the water warms back up for fishable waters. I want to put this rod through the rigors.
  4. X2. This was what I started with a few years back. Still have the Pflueger in the boat. I want a new combo, old man calls me crazy. Great reels and great rods for the price.
  5. The tips on the BPS models are just fine. Don't jam your rods in your storage and they'll last. And I've currently using fleece. Mom had a roll she wasn't using so old man and I "liberated" it. Applied a waterproof outer like Columbia uses on their blood and guts pants, they're prefect.
  6. Plum is a Shimano man. I'm a Lew's man. I'm not an expert in this fishing style, but I've seen a lot of people using the Lew's heavy duty for it. Not what I'd choose, but different strokes for different folks.
  7. I used to have that frame of mind. But since I went to split grips, I love them. Same for my old man. Had to change up his cast, but it gained him distance on his casts.
  8. I've got stuck on Terminator. Had to call for a special order for pink.
  9. You can do that. Mine gives me the ability to actually save it to the SD card and I can turn said overlay on and off in the menus. I use it for tourney fishing and I'll go through and scan coves to get detailed scans. My roommate has gone as far as scanning his to his computer and then printing them off on a plotter. Basically making a homemade physical map.
  10. I haven't used your particular system, but my HDSs with structure scan will let me pace back and forth through the area and actually scan the bottom. Your hummingbird have that?
  11. X2. Just make sure you get the right chip. I've seen so many people buy the wrong chip at BPS. The current chip I have doesn't have Guntersville but has my local waters in East TN.
  12. He's right. If you're gonna get line, spring for it. Went to yo-zuri hybrid because of another member, I won't go back.
  13. Navionics on my HDS 9/12 actually brings up the depth and contours of the lake. Just make sure to get the info on which card your lake is on. Guntersville and Parksville is on a different chip than my local lakes.
  14. If a bass talks, I'm changing hobbies. And lecturing kids about hallucinogenic drugs.
  15. What's the difference between braid and superline?
  16. BPS. Their bins at the end of every couple of rows have tons in them. 5 bucks a pop. I don't use them, but the old man does. I fiddle around with sewing (don't laugh...) and made my own. Actually cheaper than the BPS ones. The BPS do hold up. Had his for a couple of years.
  17. I'll settle this. Most of your Exxon/Mobil stations will sell it. Check your local Co op fuel depot and see if they have it. Ours offers all three Octanes in ethanol free. And being a Co op, they have to advertise what they have. No gimmicks, no hidden lies. 93 ethanol free is 93 ethanol free. Granted, I'm paying close to 3.50 a gal, but the boat is loving it. Made to run low Octane and it isn't having problems. Then again, I rebuilt our engine personally, so I don't have to worry about what I run. I know what my baby likes and she'll get what she needs.
  18. I'm in a rush so I apologize if this has been asked. Is there an app for android that works like this? I'd love to start logging my fish and what does/doesn't work.
  19. Asian, Adam, you both have a point. I bought a Veritas 2.0 after seeing all the negative reviews. Yes, it hurts the decision making process, but if you trust the brand, buy. If it turns out to be a turd, send it back to the company or the original place of purchase. If they won't take it back, no need to continue business with that company.
  20. Exchange coffee for scotch and we're on the same page.
  21. Would the Team Lew's Gold Spin match well with it?
  22. If you really want to get one, get one right before you go fishing. If it breaks, return it to BPS.
  23. God they're expensive. But, I'd like to have a good rod for the rare occasion I use it.
  24. That wouldn't happen at Quantum. Sadly, Quantum has gone down in quality. I really hope mine doesn't break. I chose it over a carbonlite and it feels amazing.
