Standard Clinch Knot
I only trust the improved clinch and p-knot. They cover everything well.

Pictures, My Mind Is Boggled
I would also suggest photobucket. You can create albums for family fish etc. the easiest process will most likely be to create an account and start with your old accounts and phones etc and scroll through only uploading what you want to keep. Then delete everything on the device or account and start on a new one. Spreading it out will make life easier, I would personally start with whatever it is that you capture pictures with primarily. That way as you add new ones you can sort them as you take them into photobucket without just making the task of that device harder when you get to it.

New Personal Best
My personal best was an odd story, I was fishing a bottom dragger worm, small split shot texas rigged. I don't remember the color, what I do remember was a small and a soft hit that I set too early. It felt something close to a 3-4 pound bass. Nothing amazing, I didn't want to miss the bite so I pulled in to the side of the boat, set the road in the holder and grabbed my tube setup. I threw it out a few feet past the spot and bumped it in on a slow reel. A minute or two passes and I figured the fish got spooked. I started to quick reel in my 3.5" bright yellow purple fleck tube and I got a huge hard hit, set the hook and pulled in the best lookin' 7 pound bass I've ever had the luxury of seeing. The look on my buddies face when I pulled that fish out of the water was priceless. He's from the area and never seen anything over 6 pounds in his 30 years of fishing this lake since it's a southern Wisconsin lake and the bass don't get into ridiculous hog sizes like down south.

"central" Location - Illinois No, Wisconsin Yes?
Yeah I live in Illinois and drive NORTH to get to Wisconsin. I fish there primarily but having to switch back and forth between sub categories to read for both areas I fish can be annoying when they are on top of one another and in the same time zone lol

Revo Stx Review And Opinions.
Just ordered one set up and I'm already looking to build another one. I don't use Abu Garcia often I'm a shimano and pflueger guy but I read so many good things and reviews about the stx and would like to hear from you guys who truly know the wear and tear these things go through. Is it worth the 150? Is it good at light medium or heavy baits? What are things you did or didn't like? How does it compare with the Shimano core or chroniarch?

Fox River Small Mouth
Thank you I appreciate the input. I'm going to be trying all over Illinois and Wisconsin this year I want to find new areas to fish since I don't have my own boat anymore and rivers seem most accessible.

Medium Or Medium Heavy
I'm big into throwing plastics weightless or with a split shot. I also like throwing spinners buzz and top waters though so I'm hoping this rod can accomplish both things. If not I'll be getting the medium for throwing my soft plastics and sticking to my other setup for the heavier stuff. So what is more important in casting light lures? The reel or the rod? And will this rod still work for my soft plastics? Link below. I would like to know quickly because I have an opportunity to buy a second hand one for relatively cheap. http://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-tbc71mhxf-legend-tournament-bass-casting-rod.html

Long Rods
Personally I feel incredibly awkward trying to handle a long rod, especially in a small little 22 footer bass boat. I'm always afraid I'm going to smack someone off the back of the boat. I prefer the 6'10-7'8" rods.

More With Buddy, Or Not?
Highly beneficial to have someone. I almost never fish alone. The obvious things of good conversation, having someone to borrow tackle from, grab the net for you etc. Now onto the safety benefits, I've had a few parking lot related incidents where having a friend with me definitely did make it safer to load up our boat. Plus there is always the falling in, hitting your a lot of different things that could happen. Stay safe, have fun.

Texas rig. Either weighted and bounce it off the bottom or weightless and float it from the top down. Curly tail motor oil is my baitnof choice.

New Power Pro Braid
Thank you for this, reading into it now. Will post with an edit once I've finished with opinion. Edit: Seems fairly straight forward, smaller and lighter. Big question, will this increase or should I say add to stretch? I hope not, that's why I use braid.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I may or may not have just spent a hundred dollars on worms. My guess is that I did, due to me sleeping on the couch and my wife saying to marry the d**n fish.

Fox River Small Mouth
Hey guys. I'm really new to river fishing. Only done it twice in my life outside of this past year. And I'm also quite naive to small mouth fishing. So when I hear the Fox river in Illinois is a phenomenal river to fish for small mouth, I am as excited as I am irritated leaving trip after trip skunked bank fishing for them and at times giving up and switching to walleye fishing around dusk. I firmly believe either I have no idea what I'm doing, or people from this area lie to those who move here and fish it just to keep appearances up that it does hold fish in order to trick people like myself into a vicious cycle of defeat. Any and all trips tricks or ideas would be absolutely great. Also if it helps I'm in the Elgin area for those of you familiar with the fox. I travel anywhere between half an hour north or south of here for fishing this river. Any further just to be skunked again would be agonizing.

I'd Love To Hear From The Peanut Gallery!
I am the unfortunate soul who is a lefty fisher and as I recall Pinnacle doesn't like us. I would love to get or at least try a pinnacle reel at some point. Though I could be mistaken they might have started endulging to dark side recent I haven't checked with them in quite awhile. Pinnacle and *** are my top two reels I'm interested in trying out. Though I'm not entirely familiar with all of the newer or smaller name reel companies that have sprung up in the last five years I've been absent from fishing. To be fair I'm getting a lot of pressure from my fishing buddies to just spend the extra money on a shimano core instead of going with a pflueger patriarch. But shopping around I can get the pflueger at 160 dollars which is a steal from what I've been told and am reading as far as product quality goes. I've also found shimano core rightys for as low as 240. Which I would gladly spend on a lefty in a heart beat. Sad times for impatient fishermen with the equipment bug as an outlet for frozen lakes rivers and ponds.

I'd Love To Hear From The Peanut Gallery!
I've been stuck with a righty before. Cast normal and switched hands for the reeling half way through the cast. It was a small pain to learn but worth a hundred dollars in savings.
