  1. As soon as my river out near me thaws I'm going to try a couple of the local and popular wading areas for walleye. Primarily rocky areas below the dam's and bridge piling's. My favorite lure is simple a 3" white grub on a jig head, what's your favorite and most productive walleye lure?
  2. Salmon. 20-30 pound run Salmon while they're still healthy. I fight them right in the marina, have to fight a tough fish and work it around docks/buoys and everything else. Plus I only catch them on a small 7'1" pole with 15 pound braid test. Makes it a ton of fun.
  3. As part of documenting lakes, and reservoirs I weigh every fish so I can have accurate nates as far as date time lure conditions and fish weight for the day.
  4. You've gotta' keep in mind the weight of braid, and the weight of the hook as well as the weight of whatever is on the hook. I use 8" worms on a weightless setup with 30# power pro braid, and a 4/0 Gama hook. It's not weightless, it's pushing 1/2 of an OZ and casts easily. The only area where it does get a bit more difficult and I have to feather the line for fear of backlash is when I'm throwing tubes with no sinkers since they're hollow. I like to throw the super salt tubes for a slow fall into the top of weeds and that can be a bit more difficult and have a smaller casting range. Nearly impossible into 15-20mph winds as well.
  5. Honestly the only stuff I pickup at BPS or Cabelas is stuff I need for that specific outing I haven't had time to order. Occasionally it'll be a pack of worms or something simple but usually it's sinkers/hooks/line/leaders. They rarely ever have what I want in the color I want and then they look at me with a dumb founded look on their face when I explain to them that I want this specific color because of X during this time of year, and tell me they can order it online. Oh well no duh, I can too. I almost always have a poor experience at sporting good stores.
  6. My source isn't exactly what I'd consider top class reliable so it could be released sooner than May. I'm just going off what I've heard. If anyone has any information as far as the release date please let us know.
  7. Hello folks, I'm buying the Z man chatterbait in the 3/8ths size. I was wondering what trailers and sizes you would recommend brand/color wise? Color will be white(Multiple suggestions much appreciated). I'm also buying a double bladed white buzzbait in 3/8ths and would like trailer idea brand/color and size information. Lastly if anyone knows the size of the slide off weed guard that I'll need for the chatterbait since I plan on swimming it through some break and weedy areas that TW sells, that would be great. Thanks for any help
  8. . I'll be trying it out in May. I'm also buying the new gloomis. I'll be writing a review on them. I'll let you know how they are
  9. Do you know if this applies to website orders as well?
  10. I'll definitely be buying one of those for myself. I'll probably get a spinning rod setup since I do need one to start dock skipping around that time of year. The bright side is that's my birthday so my wife can't even argue with me. Thank you Dobyn!
  11. The theme song to elmos world. Have kids they said, it'll be the greatest thing that ever happened to you they said...
  12. I prefer a sweeping hook set followed by a solid pop as I start to reel to ensure its past the barb. In my opinion far fewer knot or line breaks plus you don't rip it out of the fishes mouth.
  13. Bullshad 5" floater. And a bb rat. 80 dollars right there. After that I'd do a couple salted/unsalted worm packs. A few chatterbaits and buzzbaits. Two spinners with a couple different skirts and trailers and before you know it you're at 200.
  14. I use about ten yards. Just enough to help keep the braid from digging. I use 15lb test so the thickness helps displace the weight.
  15. I was trying to create a post that covers all classes of rods and reels. Not just 100 dollar area in one place. Without jumping through fifteen topics.
  16. Rods for under 150$(+/-)? Duckett Magic rod. I like all the weight this rod puts into a small price tag. Solid company, quality product. http://duckettfishing.com/home.php?cat=3 Reels for under 150$(+/-)? Pflueger presidential spinning rod. Quality product and highly durable. Extremely easy to cast and it throws a lot of light and heavy lures with ease. http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/fishing-reels/baitcast/chronarch-ci4.html Rods for 350$+? I have a feeling this rod will be on repeat if this topic is continued and goes as well I hope. The g looms nrx. Lightest weight, high durability most sensitive rod I've ever felt. I love it a ton but I would better at 550$ http://www.gloomis.com/publish/content/gloomis_2010/us/en/conventional/rods/nrx_bass_rods/NRX_Jig_Worm.html Reels for 350$+? Abu Garcia revo beast smooth, high quality with a seamless use. Extremely dependable and reliable. 17. Just trying to get information together in one place so everyone can read a whole lot of mixed opinions all at once.
  18. I'm surprised this isn't a pinned topic already so here we go let's get it started! Note these rods and reels do not have to be a combo just your favorite. Three rod choices three reel choices. What are your favorite by weight class? Rods for under 150$(+/-)? Reels for under 150$(+/-)? Rods for 200-330$(+/-)? Reels for 200-330$(+/-)? Rods for 350$+? Reels for 350$+? This topic does include baitcasters/spinners and both sides of the rod. To be helpful please try to explain a little about your choices and post a link to the item. I'll tag it so hopefully please can search for this for a long time to come. Just an idea and let's see how it goes. I'll post mine once I get to a computer to copy links. Good fishin' boys.
  19. Tie it to the back of a car and drive away.

  21. I couldn't agree more. Honestly I feel cheated if I'm not getting triple grade cork grips. The only time I'd let it slide is for carbon fiber.
  22. My only thought would be that they're fully intending on keeping the branding different, and letting people pick which brand they're partial to. Competing with themselves isn't all that bad, they get money either way people go.
  23. http://www.bassmaster.com/slideshow/new-products-debuting-2015-classic Here is a functioning link, the rod is called the Zodia's
