Question Concerning Air And Water Temps..
Have you had much rain on those warm days? A good rain on a warm day will get the water temp up a lot faster then air temp. I always get happy when we have a 1/2" of rain on a mid 60s day to get the water temps up. We had a good rain last week here in PA that got the water times up to 41. We still have night temps in the 30's but that rain really helped get the water temp moving up.

Blackrock ( Phoenixville, Pa )
Oh yeah it is packed with down trees and brush everywhere. It is cut off from the Schuylkill but they did put LM in when they made the pond. Lots of trail blazing to get to spots but its a blast! Like i said i hike it all the time but never fished it. If you ever are planing on going down there let me know! Another good thing is there is a boat launch to the Schuylkill right up the road and lock 60 just down the road on the other side of the river. Lots of good fishing around that part! Need to get the kayak down there for sure this summer!

Blackrock ( Phoenixville, Pa )
I have never fished this spot but i hike around there a lot. In the summer I have seen big bass in the shallows just walking around the pond looking for fish. of course i never had a rod with me. My one buddy said he had a huge fish on but it broke off. Not to sure how deep it gets in there but i bet there are some good fish because its so hard to bank fish. Defiantly have to get over there more this year.

What Do You Want To Learn In 2015
I will second this. One of my main goals this year. Along with jigging deep water on lakes. I fish streams most of the time, so i'm not to good at big lakes, but that is what ill be working on this year!

Turns In Rivers
On the outside of the bend will be deeper and sometimes will have a undercut in it. This is a great spot for bass to be because of the current brake and a place to hide. Working baits on the edges of the current will work the best. If there is not much current finding rock or cover would be the first place i would fish. on the other hand the inner edge (slow water) will most likely hold sun fish in the warmer water. Bass will chase bait fish if held up in the lower water. Also will be crayfish in the rocks and insects like hellgrammite. A small moth favorite in rivers. Remember the bass will follow their food source. Find that, find the bass. Hope that helps!

What's Your Guys Favorite Lure, rig And Way To Fish
My favorite rig has to be a Carolina rig with yamamoto flappin hog. I will also put a finesse worm or fluke on the end and work it on ledges or throw weeks and pads. They just kill the flappin hog on the drop or twitching it along the bottom. Love that thing!

Fishing Logs
I use excel to log numbers and Diaro app to log fishing conditions and what i did that day. With that app i can organize per body of water and and date. I can search throw all of my logs to find what I'm looking for. A note book would work but this makes it easier to find things per body of water or month.

Structure?
Wayne p those are great views! That is a perfect description of structure. Structure is the changes in the lake bottom or river. This could be creek channels or bridges. Depending on the time of year and weather fish will stack up on ledges. I don't fish lakes to much so to know a great deal about it.

Carp Fishing
Ill second this! I only fish for carp on my fly rod. Stalking tailing carp is amazing. Have to have a almost perfect cast but when you get it right to them when they are feeding its great!

Tippets For Trout
Tippet rings are differently the way to go. I have many leader set up depending on how i will fish that day. From high sticking with a sighter in the leader to my 6x dry fly leader. At the tippet ring you can change out your different set ups. 3x to 4x or 5x to 6x. it makes changing leaders fast and easy if you prep before you get on the water.

Best Fish Finder $150 Or Less
I use a humminbird piranhamax on my kayak. I love it. I use it for mapping lake/river bottoms. Some times i use it for vertical fishing for crappies but most of the time i use it to find structure. For only around $100 its perfect for what i need it for.

Lake Galena (Peace Valley Park, Pennsylvania) - 7/20/14
Biggest bass of got out of the perk was a 4lb LM. If you find the spillways along the stream you will find the big bass (my photo is from the perk in Sellersville) . Normally the bass i get are around 1-2lb in the skinny water. Trust me they are in there! . I'm glad to here of someone else that fish for bass with a fly rod! 70% of the time i have my 4wt in hand.
