  1. Ned rig wins again. Nice catch.
  2. Agree with RyneB. Go aluminum for your usage.
  3. Look at the: lake st clair network. It works the same as here. Lots of great info.
  4. 55-60 here in SE Michigan.
  5. I have the x3 and its great for me. Doesnt have features like x5. I havent seen many complaints on Motorguide vs Minn Kota.
  6. Put sugar on a 10 foot stick and dip it down in the water. Stand on one leg and sing "I'm a catchin me a smallie today"! LOL.Couldn't resist. Sorry. Extensive great info on this website and videos. Good luck.
  7. you can go to scales like moving van lines or feed silo locations for small fee n weigh your boat in trailer n get certified weight. in Michigan we have to have weight at SOS (secy of state) for trailer permanent registration (one time only) tag and boat registration.
  8. This may be interesting JT. Though, I believe it is a learning curve like sonar on DI for most of us. Still, I would like to see a large cross section of answers. Now, that I think of it, this probably belongs in Electronics. Thanks
  9. Aluminum. Used Lund 40hp. 1991 year for boat and Merc motor. Both going strong. Garage kept during Michigan winters with antifreeze in motor.
  10. 16 foot Lund with 40hp is 800 dry weight. Plus steel trailer at 1000 pounds. Tow with Hyundai sante fe rated at 1600 pounds. Has rating of towing 3500 pounds if trailer has brakes which mine doesnt. Add in200 pounds of gear for around 2000 lbs. No issues.
  11. Ringonu: curious- did you mail lures back home or bring thru security at customs etc.? I've wondeted how that works for domestic USA flights and international. Thanks.
  12. X2 on ziploc baggies gallon size. But i like the closet idea!
  13. 16 foot too small for big waves. I have 16 foot aluminum Lund with same issues on Great Lakes.
  14. Sounds like trailer brakes engaged to me and or tire/wheel issue of trailer assuming tow vehicle is fine.
  15. Juhealy: whats your fav lakes of ones you posted? Always looking for new adventures. Especially inland lakes that aren't crazy yet productive. Thanks.
  16. You are correct. What u are passing over goes from right to left on screen. Depending how fast u are going will dictate how far behind u is now headed towards left side of screen. I have transducer mounted on my stern and Lowrance Elite5 HDI is mounted at console. I fish mostly from the bow knowing what i just passed over is behind me. So if i see fish or structure/cover i often turn boat around to go back and recheck the area. Lots of good info on this website. Search for further good info. You tube has some really good videos on unuts showing how to read, settings, etc. Search Wayne P on this site for his screen shots. Excellent info. Hope that helps. Forgot>>>Wayne P and others have screenshots at the top of this Electronics category. Enjoy.
  17. Lake Okeechobee. Hire a guide.
  18. Take to scale. Like movingcompany for a small fee. Trailers single axle can easily weigh1000 pounds
  19. I'd keep saving money and get a good used aluminum 16-19 foot if that suits your fishing style.
  20. Palomar for everything regarding ditect tie.
  21. Basically ice out in lower SE Michigan. But ice floes n ice coming ashore. Some docks are in. Plenty boats out and shore fishing. Lake St Clair.
  22. Grabbed the Johnny Morris baitcaster combo for $99. Then Sebile had buy one get one. Next was use some rewards at BPS to try two of Berkleys new crankbaits- Wild Thang and Pitbull. Surprisingly BPS had these at TW prices.
  23. Just placed my order. $5.99 for shipping and $1.58 taxation. Still across all baits i bought came out to $3.48 per bait. Not too shabby for Sebile. I'm happy.
  24. Detroit area for me. Mostly Lake St Clair (LSC). Though I fish Kent Lake, Orion, Cass, Stoney Creek, Lakeville I like LSC except weekends. Too many boats. Have fun n be safe.
