Looking for some similar feedback here, heading out of Fountainhead in a kayak for the first time in a couple days. Any suggestions on heading north or south from the ramp? Generally the question is which way first, but when you're under your own power, you have to pick one or the other Thanks! innova edit: both of us skunked! We threw every presentation at every portion of the water column, the rez continues to be a fickle b#@$%.

Hey all, About to pick up a used 17' Bass Tracker that's currently equipped w/ a 50HP. This boat has a steering console, unsure of the details on which type, but most of the waters I'm going to be fishing are 10HP limit so I'll need to put a 9.9 on. I'd like to replace the 50 w/ a 9.9 and not just mount it side saddle so that I can use the steering with it. Is there anything I need to look for in shopping for the 9.9 motor? Can any motor be mounted to use the steering? Thanks in advance and tight lines. -innova

Managed to get out Saturday a.m. but wasn't able to put us on any bite. Mostly hid from the winds in the coves throwing jigs, slow rolling spinnerbaits/senko/ you name it. Pulled out and hit some local farm ponds w/ a little more success on wacky rigged watermelon senkos. Unrelated to Occoquan but took the kids to Crockett Park today for some bank fishing with no success there either. Saw a LOT of boats but not much happening. -innova
