  1. Yeah! Actually, I was staring at them in a tackle show at the Oklahoma fairgrounds, and a "state pro" who happened to own a bait shop which sold the things started on a sales pitch with me. Actually got convinced that this thing was worth it and was about to buy some when he gave me a complementary pack of 'em. He also told me to use a hook that has a screw-lock in the front (Diachii makes them) so that the bait would last longer. If you reel them in nice and steady near cover, they sure look real!
  2. Happy Birthday Muddy! I don't know what you guys are talking about "its all downhill from here," from his avatar I'd of guessed Muddy was 41, not 56! Oh well,
  3. Thanks and hats off to your son. I know some guys who recently made it back from Iraq, and from what they tell me of the normal day of a U.S. soldier, your son is a hero. Not to mention his bravery in actually going there. I'm just a kid still, but I've always wanted to serve in the army. Your son adds oil to that flame. Tell him that I said thank you, and welcome back to the U.S.A.!
  4. What I meant was has anyone used any of the above mentioned lines, and how did they perform?
  5. Hey all. I'm a little crazy about line right now. Which of the above will do the best concerning knot strength, abrasion resistance, and castability?
  6. I wondered that too. Did some research- ended up with this. (excerpt from report 4 school) Although squid fight well, most fishermen have the tackle to squidfish stashed away in their closet! The lures, however, are 2-4 inch thin, straight jigs which sport umbrella style hooks. Hooking a sardine works well. For prime fishing, most fishermen wait for a cloudy, drizzly night to nab a squid, as squid hate light. Fortunately for shore fishermen, boats are not necessary, piers are better locations. But squid are not undefeatable, because most squid assassins return with enough for dinner.
  7. Then how do they still post?
  8. Thinking about getting it to use for deep ponds. Here it is- www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=58970&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Thanks!
  9. Hey, good to know I'm not the only one! I run about once a week, usually on a treadmill for 6 or so miles, but I run with my dad (an extremely avid runner, finished at least 10 marathons) a lot. We have some good stories. We were running during a thunderstorm, and we decided to take a shortcut as the lightning was pretty bad. Then we heard a huge BOOOOOMMMM, accompanied by a bigger flash. We ran in the direction we thought the sound came from, 'cause it was on the shortcut anyway. Turned out that lightning had hit a house we would have passed at the same moment if we had gone the long way. Then, of course, we had some times where we would be running early in the morning, and all of a sudden-SQUELCH!! Poor roadkill, as if the car wasn't enough! ;D ;D
  10. A Johnson Beetle Spin or a Berkley Powerworm.
  11. A Chrome w/ blue back RatlTrap should serve you well! By the way, WELCOME TO THE GREATEST SITE ON THE WEB!!!

  13. Yeah, right now I have a Rubbermaid Container, but am looking at the Frabill Worm Habitat (www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=37100&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults) because it is better for keeping the temperature regulated. The place where the worms will be stored is not heated at night or on the weekends. P.S. I can't wait to freak out my science teacher with your Worm-Glo! ;D P.P.S. I got some of those Panfish & Trout worms, and they are reproducing. I know because when I dumped them out to put them in the bedding, there were 60 big and dark worms. Now there are all these small and pale worms.
  14. Okay, thanks everybody! I didn't think I'd get so much help. One of my fishing buds gets all his live bait from Wal-Mart. He said they carry nightcrawlers and then "Panfish and Trout Worms." They are thin, very red, stretch out far, and are slimy. Are these redworms?
  15. Wow! I can't believe you invented Worm Glo! That stuff rocks! I've called Bass Pro and asked if they carry live worms, and the person said no. But the last time I went they definitely did. Same case with Sportsman's Warehouse. Then I called all the local bait shops, and they're all closed for the winter. I don't have time to go and check each store, but I can't wait for shipping either. So, does BPS carry Redwoms or not? - Plus, will I need to remove some worms every once in a while to keep the population from overloading? :-/
  16. Probably should have said this up front. I'm using a huge Spincast reel. Its the RSC5 model made by rhino (www.rhinofishing.com)

  18. Nope, no mid or deep cranks for me. I wish they had some supershallows though!
  19. So, is it really invisible for a certain depth? Is it still strong and thin? Any thoughts?
  20. I've seen these X-Calibur Lures advertised and sold in Bass Pro Shops catalogs- they look pretty sweet. 8-) What do you guys think?
