  1. Pushing 1 pound... lol. I always take a picture of the first fish on a new combo, regardless the size.
  2. I think the way you fish a bait (action) and size of the bait is more inportant than the shape and color. Besides, I have seen a bass just released hit the exact same bait that almost killed him 5 minutes ago. I dont think bass are that smart, if something looks alive, they will give it a good eyeballing. If it apeals to them, they will try to eat it. I think that is bass fishing in a nutshell. It doesnt matter if they have been caught on it before, they are very slow learners. JMHO
  3. Nice one guys. Now that the whole forum is onto our plan we are going to have to use morse code over instant messager....
  4. I was using a Spro frog in the slop and a shaky head rig in the clear spots.
  5. In 30 years when all the mods are old and grey I'm going to take over BassResource.com! *evil laughter*
  6. Well today I got my newest and bestest rod and reel ever! A Powel Max 6'8" Med/Hvy and a Revo SC. I fell in love with it at first sight. It fished even better than I dreamed and is light as air. I'm really pleased with it. Anyway here is the first of many bass that will be caught on this swell setup, not much for size but the first one just the same: And just to show you the conditions it was 95 degrees and this is what the cove I was fishing looked like: Thats 6" thick of weedy slop that just about covers the whole pond. I beleive the latin name for this plant form is "Stupidcraplitus". Got the weekend off, so its early to bed, early to rise. Hopefuly I'll catch the topwater bite tomorrow morning. Tight lines Matt
  7. WOOT Eds back!!!!!!!!
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. The reason why I didnt invest 10% of this paycheck was because my dad is on a bike trip and I dont know how to open a acount. But I'll be investing %20 from now on, %10 for earthly things, and the other 10 for heavenly things. And about girls costing guys alot of money, I have no plans to get myself tangled with the other species any time soon.
  9. Guys, go easy on muddy. He cant help it if he sucks at the most effective and versitile lure in existance. ;D Just fooling with you muddy, one mook to another. I always catch more fish on the jig when I'm fishing from shore. IDK why, maybe becuase crawfish prefer shallow water, but it might be worth a try. Keep at it and eventualy you will catch a bass. EDIT oh yeah, and what avid said is 100% right. Its all about the vibes man. If you got the right vibes, you'll be catching far out bass.
  10. Ed left?!?! :'( :-? :-/ How could he? He didnt even say good bye..... Whoever could have the bird-brained notion that a mook like Ed wouldn't be wanted on BassResource.com?! Thats rotten raddish horse malarky!
  11. lol, I wont let it out of my reach.
  12. It dosnt say anything on the webpage, but the Abu Garcia SC's on Cabela's are $50 off retail price. Got one for $91 bucks including shipping. You have to add it to your cart in order to see the discounted price. Just getting the word out. Tight lines
  13. Got home. Opened envolope. Started drooling. Cashed paycheck for a grand total of $507.87. Got on tackleware house. Ordered one 6'8" med-hvy Powel baitcasting rod, $178.98. Got on cabelas. Ordered Abu Garcia SC baitcasting reel, $91 (on sale $50 bucks off) Got on bike. Went to L&R Sporting Goods. Spent $20 on lures. Payed back my debts to siblings. Took out $50 for tithe. Stashed $100 for a flight for deer hunting in texas. Saved $40 for line replacing that I'll be needing in the next 3 months. Spent $3 on a Co2 tank refill. Spent 25 cents on a cow tail. Spent $2 on Apple Juice to wash it all down. 1 hour later: Total money left over: 62 cents. Results: A rod and reel combo words can"t describe, well fed baitmonkey, hunt for a buck of a lifetime along with all the men in the family, sister no longer threatening to get a lawsuit, Co2 for paintballing fun with friends, and satified thirst. If you ask for my MHO, thats money well spent.
  14. I pride myself in my fish-photos. I fish with dan (basshole) and sean all the time and I take the pics. I wasnt there when dan got his though. My best bass from this pond was half a tad under 6lbs. For all you swindling fishermen in NJ good luck trying to worm this ponds location from us, our lips are sealed. Nice fish dan, it looks like a 8lber in that picture.
