Your chance to top Fish Chris!
My PB in Jersey is 5.875lbs and the state record is 10.875, so acording to my calculator my percentage is 54.02%. According to this theory, I guess that means it was a trophy!

U.S. Open
Er, dontcha mean 296? No one hits 400 yd drives. Nope. It really was 396. A real missle.

Jitterbug Colors
In murky water, a black lure stands out best on the top. During the night the same is true. All my homemade topwater plugs are painted mostly black, IMHO you cant go wrong with it.

U.S. Open
It was pretty darn close intill Tiger blew it with his bunker shot on the 17th. I was rooting for bolth of them. I mean you got to love Cabrera picking his nose infront of national TV, lol.

What do bass taste like?
In these waters, the bass taste just like the catfish. Catfish = Very good.

Freshwater Clams.......
I swim around lakes and gather clams up from the bottom. They make exelent catfish bait. The bigger ones I've seen where around 6" long.

What's the best way to make the mouth on a popper?
I drill about 1/4" into the center of the mouth, then spin the drill around on an angle to make it more round. Sand it down and paint it and you have a nice, smooth mouth.

Yeah I was starting the AIM chat during the winter but it kinda faded out. Now that it is bass season we will be able to talk about that and not about "everything else" lol. I usualy sent out the invite in the later evening to every that is online and on the list. If you want to be added PM me (or post in that thread) with your screen name. We can start this up again. (i still have everyone on the list who was on the list before)

Got a nice one and lost a hog. (w/ megastrike)
I used the Crawfish sent. It smells just like preserved crawfish. It stays on your lure for a long time and doesnt smell that bad when its on your hands and can be washed of easily.

Hooks and Rust.........
Replacing the hooks is your best bet. I use a penknife to open the split rings but split ring pliers are probaly the easiest.

Berkley Fishing Products
Powerworms are the best I've ever used and have cought me alot of big fish. When it comes to curly tails, I only use these. Their powerlizards are amazing also, I cought my PB along with severel other bass in a hour on these in black/blue. As far as mono goes, XL is the only stuff I use. By far the best line I've tried.

Got a nice one and lost a hog. (w/ megastrike)
I'm sure it didnt hurt anything. I'm going to use it more often. I'm guessing it makes them hold onto it longer, wich is great when fishing a jig. LOL your just jealus. When was the last time you cought a 4lber? ;D

Does
Yo thats a crazy video! ROFL that guy was getting beamed by bream!

Got a nice one and lost a hog. (w/ megastrike)
After a big hail storm went through I hit the lake. Tried out megastrike on a jig for the first time and cought a 12"er as soon as my lure hit the water the first cast. Couple casts later, I got a 4lb 20"even bass. Quite nice for these parts. I was using a Black/red BPS 1/4 jig with the tail half of a Black/blue 10" powerworm as a trailer. I cast back in the same spot and see a very slight twitch in my line as my jig falls. I set the hook and all I felt was slack line, the bass had picked it up and ran at me. I cought up to her and she surfaced about 15ft out and I got a good look at her. I'm not good at weight guessing but I'm darn sure she was a new PB. A real sow. As soon as he went under he spit the hook and the jig came flinging back at me. Towards the evening I tied on a homemade popper and got 4 hits but no hook ups. All in all it was a great day but I wish I got a good hookset on the big one. Problems with BassPro.Com?
I'll seccond that. BPS is as slow as anything.
-
checking your scales...
I used a 5lb bag of sugar last time. (about 2 months ago) I guess I should check it again. Spring scales's spring can wear out, and all the faster when you catch alot of huge fish like I do. LOL JK I'm in a slump right now.

Jig Trailors
Half of a 7" Powerworm gives the jig a great action even at super slow speeds. (like the fall)

Ok, I know I'm sick in the head...

Fantastic Summer Job
This summer I'm working for my dad's co. (Child Evangelism Fellowship) and I basicly go around teaching bible clubs (called 5-day clubs) to children all summer. Its pretty fun and it pays good. (Here on earth and up yonder too )

Ok, I know I'm sick in the head...
...But am I the only one who is addicted to fishing tackle? Recently I've noticed how much time I spend fiddling with my fishing stuff. Its almost like shopping for, buying, unpackaging, fondling, colecting, sorting, modifing, cleaning, and just looking at lures is almost as fun as catching fish on them. When I get my long awaited orders in the mail its like christmas, (or more like Golom from Lord Of The Rings with the ring in his hand) and I stay up late looking at the BPS catalog and doing the other things I just described. "So many lures, So little time" Avid, I know exactly what your going through. When I'm fishing I never get the chance to use all the lures I want to. I try on a light craw jig for a while, then a dark craw jig, then a really light craw jig, then a really light craw jig with a trailer, then that same lure with a different trailer, and so on. And by the time I'm done fishing I havn't even worked my way to the Black/blue jigs, let alone the crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, poppers, 7" powerworms, 10" powerworms, and everything else! I get home and think "Oh I should have of used this" and "I should have used that" and then I cant wait for tomorrow so I can get the chance to use them. Lifes hard sometimes. And you dont even what to know about the dreams I have. (one night I drempt about this 1/4oz chrome w/ blue top and orange scaled RatLtrap and the next day I slammed them with that exact lure!) Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Tubes
I used to use Watermellon PowerTubes (powerbait) T-rigged weightless. Me and my friends would slam the bass with them, infact that lure has held our "most bass cought within a hour" record for almost a year! I havn't used them in a long time though becuase my local tackle shop stopped selling them. :-[
