I never caught a fish on a texas rig. Then again I dont fish them, I always fish a jig, its my go to ever since I caught that 3 lber (my PB and first jig fish) at my local pond. It is responsible for my new PB and I am addicted to that nice bite when you are slowly dragging your jig, then *thump* set and load up!!!!! Have been trying the t-rig here and there though.

Ditto on the lack o' smell. Came in a zip lock bag full 'o worms. Tried them out at my local pond, no luck. Action looks really good, I want to try em at a larger reservoir. Worm fishing a good late fall bait? Seems the ticket is letting it sit and a short hop, the tail action as it glides down looks really nice, looks more like a shimmy down more than anything.

roboworms have salt. they float quiet nicely. Depends on how much salt right? floaters might have a less salty plastic then ones meant not to float. yet still salty.

I was trying an alternate technique the other day. It requires a really loose spool/good thumb control, cast out and keep your reel disengaged. As the bait falls, more and more line comes off your reel, counter any wind by feathering your thumb as the bait drops, if you notice a jump in the speed, you got a bite. Any one else try this? Maybe a good alternative to line watching, especially for lighter line where it is hard to see. Once on the bottom, let it sit for 5-10 seconds, then give a short hop-hop and let sit for 5 seconds. then at your rod pointed ~3 oclock, raise up to 12 or 1 oclock moving the bait a short distance. reel up the slack and repeat. Experiment every few casts, with more aggressive hops, faster dragging, and even swimming. Yum money craw is a good trailer, as it falls the claw action is stupendous. I reccomend getting a football jig and a brush jig for dragging, and some arkies if you happen upon some cover. 3/8 oz is a good all around weight, for heavier in windy/deeper water.

Living in cali, I think we are all accustomed to seeing those labels. Even the hotel I used to work at had a nice plaque built into the wall with fancy lettering displaying the prop 65 cancer warning. Stepping foot into the building let alone staying there exposes you to cancer causing things. I wouldn't worry about it. Keep on fishin. If cancer is gonna get you, it will get you no matter how many carcinogens you avoid. My gramps had never been a regular smoker, even never an occasional smoker. Yet he has lung cancer. SO many variables. Might as well stop eating meat as well, since cali is looking at applying those cancer labels to hot dogs, bologna etc. -Joshua

Now that I have a crap load of a bait I have never used before, anyone have any experience with this company? The worm color/flavor is blueberry (which is blue), is that a good all around color? Worm fishing is something I have not done a great deal of, would these work as a jig trailer? I have some sieberts brush heads that stand up quite nicely, I would work it like a shaky head? Studying the worm articles here are very helpful, also looking for any insight from experienced worm fisherman. Thanks!!! -Joshua

My ol faithful Rhino rod (20 bucks from walmart) feels alive when I hold it. So sensitive! Still like my Rage rod, the rhino makes for a killer cranking rod/light rigs

This site has helped me a lot: sorry not allowed here apparently!! Google jig fishing and you will see plenty of sites to help out the mind set and what to look for in your jig fishing. BASS RESOURCE has some good articles too. The key for me has been casting parallel to the bank, and searching for "jiggy" bottoms. As long as your jig bumps into something every now and then, you in a good spot. If all you feel is mush, not so good spot. I fish mainly football/brush/swim jigs. Not too much in the way of fishable cover around my lakes, so slow drags have always worked for me. Yum money craw as trailers. and stay positive! be the jig! as soon as you see/feel the bite reel down and set er good. Always a blast when you set the hook and see your rod south bend!!!!!

Thanks for info on here, never caughta bass on a worm (barring dropshot) then again i hardly fish em. I love my jigs. Anyone use a wacky worm as a trailer for a jig? Im talking 1/2 oz jig dragged along the bottom (football/brush head) -Joshua

LOL yeah always disheartening when you stick a pig, happened to me too at a local res not known for bass fishin anymore, coulda easily been my PB. Mine was rookie mistake by letting line go slack when he was at the bank

I don't read of too many people using the yum money craw. The action on the fall and when swam is nice. Pretty good durability. -Joshua

Yeah I love the cast after cast mentality, almost droning on. Then you get bit. I call it the o-face.

I wonder if they should just come out with a formula MEANT to float properly? as in no need to soak stretch etc. rite outta the bad instant float. -Joshua

Maybe he was talking in terms of handmade lures from things lating around the house. I saw a youtube vid of a kid making bottle cap lipless cranks with *surprise* bottle caps and metal BBs. Pretty sure if you tie a hook onto anything shiny, you'll do well if you are broke enough to avoid the bargain bins at walmart. heck, a piece of floating material with hooks on it fished right is enough to have anything swipe at it. Be creative, you can probably make a lot of lures through trial and error with minimum cost and materials, other than weights/hooks etc. My homemade sabiki's utilize a certain type of confetti and a really cool blood-looking sparkly nail polish (my g/f's i swear) -Joshua

yES THIS IS TRUTH. iT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIGURE THIS, i WOULD NORMALLY JUST CAST WILLY NILLY AND HOPE i GET A FISH. nOW i INTUITIVELY TRY MY BEST TO GAIN INFO FROM EVERY CAST, AND FIGURE WHAT SPOTS ARE THE MOST HIGH PERCENTAGE. This is all caps because I forgot to take it off. Now it is off, I do not want to rewrite so there. Theres is a nice underwater cove I know is there from when my lakes water levels were below 5%, they are starting to drop down, so now I know for sure a nice area to pick through.

Those jigs definitely look hand tied and professional. I bet they fish just as good as they look.

Just received my new siebert swim Jig in bloody shad colour, gonna try pairing it with a 4 inch GYCB swim senko. Really subtle swim action. Had a nice bite on a dirty jigs cali swim jig in white coulour as well, using a zoom super swimmin fluke. Both jigs are 3/8 oz. Just cast and reel at first, then try experimenting with retrieves. Sometimes I get bit within the first second of reeling, other times after I get sick of swimming it slow, I start to reel fast, and thats when I get bit. -Joshua
