  1. From what i can find with those names, i come up with BERKLEY brand. Jason
  2. Man, totally wish i could join everybody, but that time frame is too close to my wife being due with our first child. Oh well, i'll catch you guys on the next time around Jason
  3. i believe what he's saying is, he caught a bunch of bass, tagged them, then released them in their home waters. Then, recaught some of the tagged fish, and took them back to "his" pond, removed the tags, and released them.
  4. all day, any day, any weather... if i had to choose...i'd say, slightly overcast, mid 60's in the fall, slight breeze out of the south. Starting shallow in the morning with top water, moveing out in the mid day for cranks or working plastics along the weedline, then back shallow in the evening. Jason
  5. Welcome to the greatest bass fishing site on the net!! I'm sure if you hang out a while you'll learn tons of new stuff about bass fishing. Many many extremely versatile anglers hang out here and can give you lots of tips and tricks. Enjoy! Jason
  6. I believe LBH used Herculiner on his boat, although he used it on the outside. He said it peeled and chipped all over the place. Of course, using it on the inside may be a totally different story, as it will not get drug around like the outside does. JMO.
  7. nice looking boat. Like i said, i have decided not to put decks in this boat. It is just too small and unstable to be standing up that high. I will feel much safer standing in the bottom of the boat. If i get the urge i can stand on the bench if need be. Jason
  8. I use the Eagle Fishmark 320. Very very happy with it. Marks everything clearly. Never had a problem with it, and it's made by Lowrance, so the quality is very nice. Jason
  9. what kind of worms are you using? you may try upsizing your worms a little. it will probably knock down the number of fish you are catching, but should help in getting some bigger bass to strike.
  10. Ok LBH...I didn't see your post before i started, but i took the boat out to the pond yesterday for the first time, before i started doing any decking or anything like that. I just had to see how it sat in the water and such, so that i would have a better idea on exactly what i want to do. Dang, you were right, i pushed her out, and immediately i was rocking back and forth, fighting to stay IN the boat. Very very unstable. After about an hour i had the courage to try and stand up to fish. It took me a while but i finally got my "sea legs" and was able to stand to fish. Now, later on in the morning, my buddy showed up to fish a little with me. I went to shore and let him get in. As soon as he sat down, BANG, that little boat was stable as all get out. Just the added weight helped soooo much. In fact, it was stable enough that i was able to stand ON the bench to fish. So, now the plan is to put in a plywood floor right on the floor of the boat. Cover everything in carpet, floor, benches, etc. Then get some nice seats and bolt those to the Top of the benches, making sure they are perfectly centered. Then put a small platform on the very front to mount a bow mount foot control trolling motor to. I had thought about placing a couple sand bags in the rear of the boat, only when i go fishing by myself. The added weight should help to keep it stable, like a second person would. About the bed liner. I cheaped out and used the Duplicolor Spray on bedliner on the bottom. Added very little weight, and held up good through the first outing. I have started to paint the outside, but wanted to get the boat out so i still need to finish it and then do the inside. Was originally going to put a white stripe down the side, but i think i'll just paint it all yellow instead, and get some vinyl stripes to add a little pizaz to it. Here is a couple pics of it so far...the crud on the bottom is just mud, the liner has not chipped or peeled anywhere after 5 hours in the water and dragging it across the ground.
  11. when you say wader, do you mean belly boat? or like a pair of neoprene waders that allow you to walk out into the water a ways? Jason
  12. ha ha, nope, not husker red, although i'm a huge husker fan! It's going to be yellow.
  13. i've seen his around quite a bit ;D...already got the boat half sanded, ready for new paint. Going to do the truck bed liner on the bottom, and the rest yellow. possibly a white stripe. carpet on the inside will be gray.
  14. Well, here she is boys. Picked up this gem from a guy about a mile down the road. I drive by his house, and saw it everyday in his backyard. Finally just stopped yesterday and asked him if he was interested in selling it. He said he hadn't really thought about it, but sure, he'd sell it. Picked it up for $200. It's a 1985 Gamefisher 11'. Will be perfect for me and the ponds/small lakes i fish. Going to put decks and new seats on it, with a foot control trolling motor and my eagle fishfinder up front.
  15. that thing will get you going just fine. plenty of power
  16. how big is it? do you have anything to tow it with at all? (truck, atv, riding lawnmower)
  17. beautiful boat. Congrats!
  18. Good Luck!!! and most of all...HAVE FUN!!
  19. I bought a Eagle Fishmark 320 at the begining this year. Best thing i've purchased all year. Really works well. You should have no problems with it. Shows a great picture. Jason
  20. ha ha, just got to do it man. If you're worried about the hooks, you can wet your hand, then grag them from the back right behind the gills. This will stop them from flopping and allow you to get the hook out. Use a pair of pliers to grab the hook if you don't want to grab it with your hand. Once the hook is out, just grab a good hold of the lower lip and hold it up and smile for the camera! Jason
  21. watermelon/red flake is no doubt my number 1 color of plastic
  22. i guess i've never heard of this...what's the purpose of dumping fertilizer into a lake?
  23. Firs of all... you should be able to catch both large and small mouth on those craws. Good luck! Jason
