  1. Try Rick's Rods in Denver. He specializes in New Old Stock for guides and reel seats. 303-778-7911
  2. I bought a Gander Mountain 6'6" Vortex for $16.00 on sale and really like it for trout.
  3. Try Cabela's or Goose Island on line.
  4. I don't think the price will ever get back to"the good old days. It is starting to get a little better if you know where to look. I bought some CCI Stds for $10.00 per hundred couple weeks ago. Saw some more this week at Cabelas. Two box limit.
  5. 193 Champion Elite/200 Mercury/ Lowrance chartplotter/Motor Guide Gator 75 Sponsor support from Dave Munganast Motor Sports Champion Boats Mercury Marine Pennzoil
  6. My worst miss was in a BASS Federation tournament at Truman Lake , Mo. where when I weighed in I came in second place and was.006 lbs. behind the winner. When I got home and flushed out my live wells I found two large craw fish that would more than cover the.006 #'s. made me a loser and cost me about $400.
  7. Charter head boats bridle off the bow all the time.
  8. I don't consider any jerk bait a good night bait. Much prefer a dark spinnerbait with a #9 Colorado blade to cover water and Berkley 10"Powerworms and jigs in deep brush and structure.
  9. Very well presented. +2 on the preference for Mega Bass Vision 110
  10. Getting a jerk bait to perfectly suspend the same all the time does not happen as water density and temperature will affect it. I usually tune mine to rise very slowly as I believe a lot more bass will come up to it rather than go down after it.
  11. I've used Hoodaddys; very similar to the Zoom Brush Hogs. Fish it the same way T-Rigged or Carolina rigged.
  12. I believe buying new brand name reels from a seller with steller customer ratings is a good venture. Buying used reels from any one is a risky venture due to worn bearings, clutch transfer bars and weak springs etc. that are not visible.
  13. Does that mean I can put a "Snoopy" reel on my IMX? 8-)
  14. Put a 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz casting plug or worm weight on your line. Now adjust the spool tension knob so that there is just a slight (half turn or so ) spool over run when your line weight (Lure) hits the ground. Your reel should now cast 60-70' . Re adjust when ever you change lure weight. If the reel still only casts 10 yards Take off the left side plate and re check the three high speed bearings that bear on the spool shaft. If they do not turn very freely they need to be removed and washed with acetone, dried and reoiled.
  15. Your Revo MGX is a casting reel and you would be well served to back off the drag system when ever you store any casting reel. This is because most casting reels also have, as a part of the drag system, Two Drag Spring Washers on the main drive shaft. They look like this ( ). When you tighten the drag they compress and exert pressure on the drag discs just below. Keeping them compressed all the time weakens their ability to do this . This can be restored by putting them in a vise and tapping the bend back in. This is not necessary on most spinning reels that have a different drag system.
  16. I think it is a solid 2.5 lbs. Your 3 lb. estimate indicates you are learning" Bass Fishing" very quickly. 8-). Well Done.
  17. Welcome aboard. I am also a Potomac alumni having spent a lot of time in Indian Head Naval Powder facility.
  18. Here is most of them.
  19. Beautiful piece and well known acccuracy. Maybe its time to change log on name.
  20. Makes me rethink leaving my garage door unlocked most of the time.
  21. Lots of good advice here. I would however offer a new perspective on backing your new boat up. Do learn to use your mirrors because as the years go by your boats and the back of your truck may change where you will not be able to see by turning your head. The best way to learn this is to always put your left hand on the bottom of your steering as you back up slowly turn your left hand in the direction you want your trailer to go. e.g. if you are looking in the mirror and want to angle your trailer more to the right turn your left hand to the right; and visa versa. Learning the mirror system will serve you well no matter what your backing up, boat, house trailer or semi, the system doesn't change.
  22. I would have the sensor replaced. I would also use regular fuel ( without ethanol) if you can find it. Premium fuel only enhances performance if the engine is tuned( speced)for it. Also keep in mind a boat usually slow down as the water warms. my 193 Champion was always 3 MPH faster in winter.
  23. You may need a 4 pin receptacle on the truck side.
  24. As described I would ask $1900. Sell if for $1700. if I had no offers.
