Hard Baits In The Summer?
I've been hammering em on crankbaits. Lures probably vary greatly from lake to lake! I wish bass liked the same lures everywhere, that'd make it cheaper and easier for me

How Do You Deal With Nuisance Fish?
If you kill a fish and leave it out, some scavenger is going to have an easy meal. That's the way I look at it.

Your Opinion On The Next World Record Largemouth
My goal is to go bassin in Florida for a weekend or something. A 10 pounder is just pretty nice one down there. Where I fish a 10 pounder would be a d**n monster!

Decline In Fishing?
Honestly I think a lot of people new to fishing expect to catch a ton of fish every time with little effort . some days the fish can be biting like that, other days there won't even be a bite. I just like to get outdoors, catching fish is just a bonus to me!

Bass Pond Start Up
I have been thinking of starting a bass pond recently. Here's some details about the pond. Its a Michigan pond with cattails around it with plenty of frogs and other wildlife in it. Maximum depth is probably 8-10 feet deep. Most of the pond is porbabley 5-6 feet. The size is about .1 acre. Summer water temps are good (70s). The pond has groundwater seeping in I take it. In the winter I plan on having a pump to keep some water open to allow gases to escape, oxygen transfer etc. Stocking ideas: 2lbs fathead minnows 30-40 3-4 inch bluegills 5 14" LM Does this project sound possible? Anybody have experience with this type of thing? Any comments welcome

Lure Diversity!
I have mainly crankbaits, spinnerbaits, frogs, and some soft plastics... What else would be good for the tackle box? I like to fish heavy cover and mainly shallow because I don't have a fish finder BTW...lakes I fish are usually clear to stained water.

Do You Consider Pike A Nuisance?
Also I have fished a lake where to oil have really bad bloody tumors of some sort. Every since then I've not enjoyed pike as much.

Do You Consider Pike A Nuisance?
Hell yes! Unless they are over about 24 inches. Those boys can run through soft plastics which makes me switch to hardbaits. Some days when bass aren't biting its fun to get some pike though.

How Long Did It Take You To Master The Baitcaster?
Just started on baitcasters this year from spinning. It took me a solid week of practice to get a feel of how to adjust them for different lures. After a couple months I hardly ever have backlashes. Just remember don't ever reel over backlashes, always pull em out. Good luck!
