  1. Both have pros and cons, I like alone because I can try new things (lures, locations) and I won't care if I get skunked. When with someone I feel obligated to get on some fish but its a lot more fun when you're catching nice fish and someone is there to enjoy it with you
  2. Downsize , I usually will put on a small grub on a jighead .. Can catch bass, crappie, perch etc.
  3. I always seem to catch one as soon as I turn my camera off
  4. All the lakes I fish are small, so I let em all go, plus I'm generally too lazy to clean em after a long day on the water
  5. Just ordered a spro bbz swimbait from ***, the slow sink version. Anyone have one? Just wondering how u like to fish these, and what times and places are ideal to fish these? Thanks
  6. Whatever catches my eye... most I'll spend for a package of soft plastics is 5-6 bucks tho.
  7. Direct tie. Even in semi clear water, line visibility doesn't seem to be an issue with a green braid.
  8. Uni works good for me with #30 power pro. I just retie after I feel like the knot or line could have been damaged. (Snagged lure, pike, etc)
  9. Losing those big fish sucks but it does act as extra motivation to get out on the water every chance possible.
  10. Here's one of the bigger ones I've caught this year about 18" and 3 lbs
  11. Either a Kvd 1.5 square bill in orange craw or a black/blue jig with chigger craw trailer. Both have be producing since then as well! Let's hit em hard until da snow flies! Tight lines.
  12. If you can see the bass while fishing they most likely aren't going to bite anything. Maybe wear darker clothes or try morning/evening if the pond is shallow.
  13. Unfortunate he didn't realize you were doing him a huge favor by telling him and only him about that spot for a reason. On to da next spot I guess. Tight lines
  14. Learn to fish those deep summer fish better
  15. I'm a simple man. For just local fishing during the week I have a baitcaster and spinning reel with a tacklebox and plano box for soft plastics. Also I try to have my boat ready to go the day before. Granted my 10 foot aluminum boat doesn't take as much to get ready as a bigger boat.
  16. I use #30 braid on my black max with no problems!
  17. Bouncing square bills off timber, throwing frogs in pads is a good combo for me. Occasionally fishing weed edges, or dropoffs. Horizontal submerged wood also gets some nice bass occosional .
  18. What are good lures casting for muskie? And where would be good locations to target? I'm thinking large crankbaits, spinner baits and maybe trying along weed line and points? Any advice would be coo
  19. The cast ability alone with braid is enough for me to use it on any lure or presentation on baitcasters... That being said I usually have a spinning reel for mono for when I feel like I need more stealth for finesse.
  20. +1 for mustard kvd short shank
  21. I have caught pike with huge bloody sores on them, almost look like a tumor of some sort... Its really nasty stuff. Anywhere I catch fish like that I generally shy away from.
  22. Steady retrieve usually, maybe some quick pauses if noting is biting. Grubs with twister tails or swimbaits are my most used trailers.
