  1. Lately I've been catching bass out of 50+ feet of water. After I try to put the fish in the livewell, they go belly up due to their air blatter. I've been wondering, is it better to fizz a fish or weigh the fish down to the bottom of the livewell to deflate the air blatter?
  2. I see them busting in front of my house all the time.
  3. Does anyone know if there are any healthy Gizzard Shad populations anywhere in New England? I wonder if they would survive in a lake in southern NH
  4. That would probably benefit you the most. Because the baby pickerel will grow into large pickeral which will eat the baby bass. And the medium sized bass will eat the trout and perch. I don't think you need to introduce bullhead or a new breed of bluegill though.
  5. I'm sure I've caught the same bass numerous times, but I've never really noticed
  6. Thats awesome. I would have hated to be him if he didn't net the fish in time
  7. I use the Simms Exstream gloves. Their gloves are full but they have an option to slide the top of the glove off of your thumb and/or index finger
  8. I love to fish spook type lures. Have you ever tried any size or series of a Lucky Craft Sammy? I LOVE those
  9. It looks like a small largemouth to me
  10. Awesome. Thats great
  11. Congrats on your new PB!!!
  12. Its hard to kill something that you sport fish for
  13. My lake does have a community lake association. I think I will mention this the next meeting. I'm also thinking of mentioning that the community should hire somebody to come and electrofish the lake.
  14. I think if I increase the food source AND get rid of fish, that would be ideal
  15. (I know I posted about this before over 6 months ago) I live on a private lake in NH called Cobbetts Pond. The lake has great fishing but over the past few years I've seen the bass start to overpopulate and the average size is starting to shrink. I want to get the average bass size back to about 2.5 lbs over the next few years and possibly grow a trophy I know I have to start harvesting fish from here but I don't know where to put them. I can't and don't want to kill them if possible. Thanks
  16. I fish mine on a weighted texas rig. I usually use a 1/8-1/4 bullet weight. I fish it how you would stroke a jig. And when I get to the top of my stroke, I give it a pop. If you feel a pop or any extra weight set the hook!
  17. I'm looking for good livewell treatment for tournaments. What do you like?
  18. (I'm on the right holding the fish) I was 5'7" in this picture and I weighed 105 lbs. While taking the picture, I was not sticking the fish out. This was taken in mid August during the JR Bassmaster National Championship in Tennessee. I live in NH and we usually never get to see a fish around 7 or over. It was 95 degrees out and it felt like over 100. We never got to weigh the fish because it was during practice and we didn't want to draw any attention to our boat and spot. There was many other boats around us. The bass had a huge girth. It really stunk that we couldnt get a weight. Because it was definitely bigger than my old PB of 5.5 lbs.
  19. I know most is about technique... but I've heard that some reels do skip better than others.
  20. I'm going to be buying a reel for skipping jigs soon because my Revo SX decided to die on me. What reels do you like to use for skipping (life length, speed ratio, smoothness, etc). Thank you!
  21. These are the tourney details: is a five fish limit, I am fishing out of a bass boat, we are launching out of Moultonborough's Center Harbor, it is an 8 hour touney, it is a singles tournament, and I have full control of my boat.
  22. I have a tournament on lake winnipesaukee this upcoming sunday. Has anybody fished it lately? Do you have any tips?
