  1. That looks like a small largemouth. Did it have a rough spot on the tongue? If you layed it down on the ground, we might have enough evidence to prove that its a spot.
  2. I have been throwing bigger baits lately and for the most time, you get bigger fish. Other times though, there might be a few overly aggressive bass. In the past 2 weeks, I have started to throw big cranks and 12 inch worms for deep schooling/suspending bass. I have caught fish under 12 inches on a 12 inch worm. Most of the time though, a bigger presentation will catch bigger bass.
  3. Thankyou. I used the 1 ounce cranks today. Nothing seemed to be different from when I started.
  4. I just got a new crankbait rod and the lure weight on it is 1/4 - 7/8. I realized today that most of my deep diving cranks are 1 ounce. How bad is it for the rod to go 1/8 ounce over the suggested lure weight?
  5. Im thinking of buying insight genesis for my lowrance elite 7 chirp. What are your thoughts on it? What have you heard?
  6. I was fishing a tournament yesterday and my abu garcia volatile rod broke on the first use. TW told me they would let me exchange the rod. I am looking for a medium heavy rod for crankbaits, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits. What rods do you recommend?
  7. What can I fish on a 7' medium action baitcasting rod paired up with the revo rocket?
  8. What sized hook should I use to fish 7 inch ribbontail worms?
  9. I need to order some braided line for a couple of my reels. I'm kind of confused with the braided line poundage/test system. Can someone explain it to me?
  10. I am relining my spinning reel with braid with a flouro leader. I want to have a 10 pound flouro leader. I was planning on buying 10 pound braid, but it said below it that it had a diameter of 4 pound flouro. The only braid that matched the diameter of 10 pound flouro would be 30 pound braid. Do I buy the 30 pound braid or 10 pound braid?
  11. I have been having trouble fishing flouro on my worm rod and reel. For that setup I usually fish senkos, ned rigs, and other light worm techniques. I might be fishing with too heavy line. What pound test line would you use for fishing senkos, ned rigs, and other light worm techniques? Thanks
  12. I live on a private 300 acre pond in NH. It has been known to have MONSTER largemouths. I have caught them too. The only problem with it, is that now the pond has a overpopulation of bass. The average sized bass are around 1.5 - 2 pounds. The pond has the perfect amount of bluegill and even has alewife. The population has just grown too large. Right now you can go out and catch over 150 bass in a day. Most under 2.5 pounds. I have read about culling/harvesting small bass but I dont know where to put them. What are your thoughts? I really want to go out and catch a lot of bass over 3 pounds. I just can't do that know. What can I do to grow larger bass and manage the population?
  13. The past few weeks, I have been catching what looks like spotted bass. I live in an area that Spots arent normally populated. I caught one fish yesterday. Is it a spot?
  14. What are everyone's pbs? When? On what? Mine is a 5.5 pounder on a Dropshot during the spawn. (A decent fish for NH)
  15. I live in southern Nh just over the border into Mass. A little over 30 years ago, there was a 15.8 pound largemouth caught in Mass. Does anyone think there is a double digit bass somewhere in NH?
  16. Thanks Could large winds make them back off though?
  17. Has anyone heard of bass backing off their beds while bedding because of weather inconsistency? They were bedding last week but not this week. I went to a summer spot yesterday and got a 5 pounder. She looked full of eggs. It has been really warm here but winds as much as 30 miles per hour. Has anyone heard of bass backing off their beds while bedding? Thanks
  18. I have been fishing the shorelines for a week now. There are beds and males everywhere. The water is in the mid 60s. I caught a 4.5 pound female a few days ago. She was the only female I have caught on the shoreline. There are a few males still on beds. I have been reading about how females go out deeper to summer spots after spawning. I went to a summer spot and found a canal with some rocks at 12 feet. I caught 4 females in 15 minutes. They were really fat. I got a 5 pounder also. She was very thick. Is it possible that the females haven't spawned yet and have eggs in their stomachs or have they just been eating really well? Thanks
  19. I live in New England. The spawn has been over for about a week to two weeks now and the water is 65 degrees and I have been fishing the shoreline for the past week. There are beds everywhere but nothing on them. I have been seeing a lot of cruising bass. I have caught a lot of bass around 2 pounds. Almost all of them are skinny and long. I'm assuming they are males. I got a female yesterday around 5 pounds. It was really short and fat. Other than that, I haven't really caught any females. Does anyone know where they might be?

  21. Wow! I would want to catch that thing!
  22. I would fish a chatterbait or jig. My partner and I fished a similar lake a few weeks ago for a tournament, and we placed 3rd. If the water is calm, fish a walking bait.
