  1. After my father died 15 years ago and my mother and i sold his 1 year old stratos 264v i didn't fish from a boat,i did luck into a couple of very private(owner and son only fish)ponds that had no real bass pressure,5lb bass in a hour was a daily occurance until the father passed away and the son started letting(buddies)fish it and it went to hell real quick.I tried a couple of smaller boats,1436 war eagle,1544 weldcraft then bought my xpress but since the baby has come it has not been used since last october(need to crank it at least in a barrell of water)and has been used only twice last year and is a 08 model. So the point to this story i wanted it,i paid for it,now it sits and does'nt get used like it should and fear on trying to sell it knowing a bad lose will come even with a new smelling boat still! :-[
  2. With all the finesse, drop shot, whatever new thing that comes out,who still uses the plain ol plastic worm, esp older styles(creme, manns, knight, fliptail, original yum company, etc) I still comb ebay for the older worms and from time to time luck up and find a few,not often enough!
  3. I have around 50 of shallow and deep divers four on the old cardboard wood background packs, wondered if i had some that needed to find a better home for high $'s! ;D
  4. I saw last week on ebay where a rainbow trout honey b went for 42.00,does anyone own a collectors book that shows the honey b's and there different colors and values?
  5. I use a cr722 which is six feet in medium action in glx but then again i don't fish plastic worms over 6" either.
  6. Now that i got a little wonder reel and mounted it to mt loomis imx cr721 light baitcaster what are its limitations?I plan to use it for rebel teeny r's,bagleys honey b's,megabass griffons and anything in that light size to use, mine got spooled with 10 lb test stren magnathin, same diameter as regular 8lb stren.
  7. I have always used smaller lures probably because i knew i would at least catch some fish on smaller offerings, but after a cold front and winter time the little baits come into there own.The largest bass i ever caught came in mid november 40 degrees wind 15-20mph out of the east on a #2 mepps dressed aglia! In this same body of water i have probably caught 30-40 over 5 lbs on that bait!
  8. a worm that i never saw come off one of my dads rods,a creme scoundrel 6" purple glo tail,a classic. Also have some of those manns jelly worms in black grape, blackberry, blueberry Raul!Send me a prepaid envelope and there yours free!!!
  9. Holy moly! And i thought i feel bad looking at some of my equipment that just sits knowing the money in it and the money i can get out of it ! No joke here folks for those that are married,i went through all my fishing equipment and truthfully told her what it was all worth in case the bad happened to me and she had to sell it without being taken advantage of. :-X
  10. Kerr is my main lake since it is a hour from me.Stripers are on right now watch the size limits and with the high temps expect high mortality rates, you need to keep em if you catch em.Bass are off the main points more now, black blue jigs, deep diving cranks are the ticket,i have done well with plastic worms but the bite is slower. As always early am late late pm it's topwater time and don't be surprised if a striper hits on the rocky points!Good luck,i'm waiting for october and on to come! ;D
  11. I will somewhat agree with raul about the size of the griffons,he himself advised me against the baby griffon, but in some of the private ponds i have fished they kill the salmon egg pattern one and i have yet to catch a bream on it,may be the way i fish it.The srx and mrx griffons are the size of a rebel teeny r or honey bee just wider like a wee wart and these are the baits i normally use up to a size wee r rebel and thats as big as i go on crankbaits.I will say this of the finish on the megabass,if you like to stop and go a crank and it has time to sit i believe the detail will help if he she is sitting there watching it,maybe not,a bass might not pay that much attention but one thing is for sure i have confidence in the lure and that in itself will make you a better fisherman. 8-)
  12. I noticed on my cover at the back near the engine it was dirty on the underside, could be mildew, tried washing it off with water but no go,thought it might just be dust blowing under the cover in storms or high winds. Also have to break our cat from crawling under the cover could be him causing my dirt problem...
  13. Got a bunch of bill normans snatrix and love these things esp over pads, hydrilla, cattails!!!
  14. As of today i have 10 sr-x griffons,7 mr-x's and 8 baby griffons, quite a few in japan only colors dating back to 2000.They have a nice wide wobble that reminds me of older storm warts but the detail is second to none,i have slayed plenty of bass on the salmon egg baby of all colors for them to hit, ugly to me but not to the bass!
  15. I placed my xpress on craigslist a couple weeks ago and had one call that he said he was interested, you know the drill no call back.Well he stated in talking to me that aluminum bass boats were getting hard to find because of the price and availability of aluminum, said he had heard the price of them was getting ready to really climb in the near future esp.with the cost of fuel and people wanting to save all the money they could, anyone here this?
  16. Well i just won on ebay a japan scorpion metanium mg at 6.0 oz,this one has the 6.2 ratio and sold my daiwa sol i had.So i shed 1.4 oz just hope i can easily throw my baby griffons and smolts on it !
  17. I am looking to buy a metanium mg and see the weight at 6 oz,according to japantackle they consider the real for light baits but what is the size of the reel compared to say a daiwa sol sized reel? I do want the japan model with 4x4 cast control and eight arb bearings. Some say its a japan core,so whats the cores size?
  18. Well said alpster! since my greatgrandmother was 100% cherokee and my grandmother 1/2 cherokee.glad i have some of there bloodline one lived to 98 grandma to 87!
  19. The angle i see is my familys have lived here(NC) and never moved out of state, everyone else coming here is causing our problems,we are the natives of this state and built it.
  20. One thing to add but may not be so nice, when i was in school our history teacher told us one thing good about wars that doesn't effect us like it has in years past,he stated that wars were useful in controlling populations, not to say thats the reason for them but it did help the population stay in check, now there is no diseses or anything else to control this and in time we will overpopulate this planet .
  21. I know this is a gripe topic but i keep reading about the slump in home sales but i still see d**n housing developments popping up left and right, aren't we concerned about the declining land and woods that keeps being gobbled up by subdivisions? If the housing market is in that bad of shape why are they still building homes!Has the world got like they do with used cars not buying them thinking they have to buy new and do the same on homes now!Look people if we keep it up there will be no more farms, woods to hunt and it will be nothing but one BIG CROWDED mess and a eyesore, thank you for my gripe post... > ;D
  22. I also have a imx 783 mounted with a supertuned daiwa 100 and normally run 12-14 lb test on it.I use it for worms and jig,pig combos but i seldom use worms over 6" or jigs over 3/8 oz,also if i see stripers i will tie a hopkins spoon on it or a bucktail jig.I for one am likely to use lighter action rods than heavier actions with the size baits i use.
  23. That just sucks! ;DI can't ever run up on a deal like that!
  24. First thing by the looks of it i would be cautious of the guys on mowers and children wandering around you with all those @#$%&* houses around ;D ;D ;DLooks like it use to be a nice pond in the middle of some fields and as alot more of this the subdivisions sprawl out... > :
  25. I know how you feel,i had to make the choice also a couple monthes ago,"spanky" our mancon cat had the milky fluid removed from his chest cavity at least four times,he'd be good for a couple of days and then his breathing would get worse each day,it finally got bad on a sunday morning when the wife was at church and he walked toward me and fell down gasping for air,i took him in and they also put him on oxygen but said he wouldn't get better,i didn't even want to see him before they did it,i still look for him around the house from time to time. :'(
