  1. Well all reasoning said i went and ordered a imx yesterday, will package the broke rod sent to me since ebay is no help and send it to fenwick for a new one then its sold to recoupe money on the loomis... As i said no more rods from ebay... > :)
  2. This isn't meant to bring back whether loomis rods are better than others but let me tell you what happened.I told everyone in the locked post that i had won the ebay bid on a fenwick techna av rod for 100.00,well i received the rod last friday,a one piece that arrived in two pieces... ,yes the rod arrived broken and usps had a label on the box stating it arrived to them this way... :-/I kinda wonder why they even left it at the house and not refuse shipment but now i am in the process of hashing it out with the ebay store boondocks trying to get it resolved,at first they claimed i hadn't bought a rod from them until i gave the ebay number of me winning the thing.A note the rod was shipped in a flemsy cardboard triangle tube that a match could have came out of and on top of that i took the rod out to look at the tag which read made in china... :-?Will probably have to bite the bullet on this one and go on and order a imx loomis like i should have now that loomis will actually end up costing 315.00 :oinstead of 215.00. NO MORE RODS BOUGHT ON EBAY BY ME,PERIOD!
  3. Glad this is brought up,try not to flame it!We have a pond around 3 acres a old mill pond, the other day i went down to pull some more trees from the low water and there was a older man fishing... :-?I asked him did he have permission to be there he pops up and shouts across the pond do you have permission to be here :-?(no i thought i just drive this tractor here for the fun of it)i said i'll be right over there,to make a long story short some guy that owns land next to the pond said he could fish there,i said otherwise and looked down in the water to see a basket full of crappie and a catfish.Sure the crappie could need culling but i always throw them back. Now for the flame part, can we buy chemicals from a ag agent to put in OUR pond that will not kill fish but make them uneatable to humans thus stopping the poaching problem. Can you say add some mercury to the pond!!! :o
  4. And as all of this is transpiring i go off and place a 100.00 ebay bid on a 6'6" fenwick techna av in medium action new and win it... :-? ;D ;D ;D SO MUCH FOR ME BEING ALL LOOMIS!!! Hope the wife will like it with her twin power 2000!
  5. Here Here roadwarrior! I'll buy em along with my japan shimanos and daiwas no matter what the cost, hell i have been busting ebay wide open on three specific crankbaits lately placing 100.00 maximums where no one will beat me on them!!!AAAHHH the all mighty dollar.... ;D
  6. Wagn on the painted boats i just use a clearcoat car polish(duragloss for me)matter of fact when i bought my new xpress and brought it home the first thing i did was wash it off and polished it to a ultraslick finish! 8-)
  7. Rechargable yausa np712 battery,12 volt also cabelas makes a battery and charger setup fairly cheap, i use this setup on my creekboat to power a cuda 242 depthfinder and small area light, last a long time between charges.
  8. First thing i see is a saltwater rod used for bass fishing?Weight alone to put me away from that greenwater line, the originals are much lighter in weight. But here we go again in less than two days bashing high dollar equipment,i have said before you get what you pay for, thats why i drive 4 runners, landcruisers, yes they cost more but i am driving them down the road not sitting in a repair shop with recalls where they won't built worth a crap to begin with... ::)Slight rant... ;D
  9. I normally see the bashing on my flyfishing sites about high priced rods so this is nothing new to me in the fishing world, some can afford the nicer equipment some can't or won't spend it because of other issues as i have said on the other boards you can't take money with you when you croak so you might as well enjoy it while your alive!
  10. Bass1,i would not count out the fenwick, ebay has four on there now,i know two 6 1/2' mediums then two other heavier actions for a buy it now price of 119.95
  11. We have a three acre pond that was once a mill pond and the water has come down quite a bit,i took this opportunity to pour a bit of concrete where i put my one man boat and then poured sand over that so that i can get out and step on sand instead of sinking in silt and mud.I also took a shovel and rake and made between 10-12 holes and ditches so when the water rises back up i'll have some deeper holes near shore for bass and others to get into.Let me tell you this though, this is tough work,a shovel full of muck and water is not light and in 90+ degree heat will wear you out fast esp when you have heart problems! :oThis was a good time also to pull some of the limbs and sticks out to keep from breaking lures off so much.Them little muskrats don't help much either dragging them in, 22 practice time! ;D
  12. Anyone own a american rodsmiths rod?
  13. Raul i had the casting 6' light action can't remember model but it was much different than its supposed spin-jig counterpart.I forgot to ad the gl3 was fine for smaller baits and panfishing, matter of fact this is the rod the wife uses but if i have her using small spinnerbaits and bagleys honey-b's that is why i am moving away from the light gl3.,i could put the reel she uses on my glx 721 but one i would cringe everytime she'd pick that $300+ rod up to use it and second i could do the above and buy me a sjr722 medium spinner but i have two 6' casting glx's now even though the ratings are different,8-14 lb line,to 5/8 oz lures on the casters and 6-12 lb line 1/8-3/8 oz ratings on the spinjig rod?
  14. Looking to upgrade a sjr721 gl3 loomis i have used a couple of times,i have a glx in the same rod that is quite a bit stiffer in the same light action and am looking at the imx in the same model if not maybe stepping to the 6'6" model,In that 200+ range would you consider the fenwick techna-v ? :-?
  15. T-1 Terminator spinnerbait in any shad colored pattern Yo-zuri crystal minnow shad or dark crawfish crankbait(bagleys,wee-r,bomber model a)
  16. Have this question, have a boat with a indash x50 ds depthfinder with a transom mounted transducer which is a 80/200 transducer. Can i place a lets say x96 up front and share the transducer with some sort of a-b switch? :-? :
  17. Lets see one thats so close to a bagleys honey-b that you can't tell the difference!
  18. I am looking at the db2's for freshwater stripers when i find them shallow to cast to,what weight are the db2's,depth range,i see there is also a db3 but i feel that size cast very long would wear you out quick! The killer bs have too much side to side action where as i feel the db's are for depth? :-?
  19. Don't know how many of you search ebay for certain lures but have you noticed lures being described as one thing but are actually another?I have recently bought several honey b's by bagleys and when they arrived they were actually killer b 1's! >:(I don't know if it matters but some were sold by women and that may be the reason for the wrong descriptions. How do some people get these large amounts of lures, estate actions where fisherman die? :-[ :'(
  20. If you are talking about the vent plug in the top of your portable gas tank, fill with gas, turn vent clockwise to close, pump up primer bulb.Like others do after use open vent cap so tank won't swell like a 200 degree watermelon! ;D
  21. Delee your statement on a lower to midrange bumble bee is mistaken, the company started with a stinger trihull line in 15' that started at 8000,9000 with a 50,i'd rather have that than most aluminums in the same price range, they then made a 255 model with a better hull in the same basic length but more geared to performance bass boat for 10,000,the models went to a 270 pro at 16'4"rated to a 130 in the 12,000-16,000 range a 278 at 17'8" rated to a 150 from 15,000-20,000 depending on outboard, then on to the larger models,180,190,200 super bees in the mid 25,000-40,000 range. The boats were well built and missed by many. The main areas to see them were tennesse of course, louisana, kentucky,va,nc,sc had a few dealers.I know of several dealers that have leftovers still and GOOD deals now. 8-)I'd liked one in north carolina,at least you wouldn't see your type boat everytime you went somewhere sort of like seeing camrys and accords all over the highways, nice to have something different.
  22. Buy another boat that you have found a good deal on and hope that you would be able to sell the one you have.I have found a procraft in the size i like but will need to sell my aluminum rig,has anyone else chanced doing this?
  23. When comparing the lowrance x96 to the eagle 480 yes the eagle has more pixs but if you read reviews the eagle also has alot of knocks, some saying it worked three hours and quit and other similiar responses,i've yet to see bad marks for a x96. :-/
