Problems with blakemore roadrunners
List to this folks, got out my 3700 box full of crappie gear to repleanish supply and noticed alot of the horseheads on my roadrunners had the paint "melting",peeling off.I called blakemore and spoke to a man,he said it is likely that the plastic is having a chemical reaction to the lead heads over time and that they recommend not to install plastic bodies to the lead heads til you fish them?I wondered about the ones on store shelves that are already assembled, none the less he is sending me some replacement heads and i will remove all rubber bodies from the jig heads, what do ya'll think? :-?

G-Loomis having production problems?
I can tell you what is wrong.I had a rod break and called and spoke to a lady i always talk with, told her the rod model and she said they were out of stock on this rod and production would be in 3-4 weeks. She said they produce rods in series, for instance today they may make magbass rods then in a few days make smallmouth series rods to restock, that is probably what is taking the time. And for the comments that keep getting thrown around about split grips, loomis is probably the largest us rod maker in the US making every conceivable rod made and they stick with what they know is good, they are not copycats they are the originators of quality rods since 1983 i believe.

Me vs. Baitmonkey on ebay
As a seller more than a buyer on ebay lately they are trying to stop all forms of payments and only try and trick you into paypal. In descriptions you can list alternative payment types and receive them just don't put it in the additional comment box or it will not list the item.It is bad enough with the economy now that you get hit with first a list fee, then final value fee,and now it seems ebay and paypal are in cohoots so that paypal can get there share also.I understand the safety concerns but lets face it if you get stiffed 10-20 dollars and can't take that you don't need to be buying on ebay in the first place...

Why do we spend $25 on a crankbait when...
I for one have a fair share of megabass griffons now, most being bought overseas and also a bit of money on older bagleys and rebels that are no longer made or made the way the use to be and run.One thing most don't think about even with the upwards amount on lures fish do get "use"to seeing certain baits and something different may make a difference in your catch rate, bass can be as picky as a mountain trout in inches of water at times, also agree with Raul some of these baits just have a different action than others and i have to agree the finishes on say megabass might not be seen as much by the bass but if i have more confidence in the looks and actions of the bait i might just fish it longer than changing out every 30 minutes to a hour if i have no bites.

Finesse vs. Ultralight??
Davo, this is just one of the new "catch"phrases that rod manus are throwing around these days,it is suppose if i am not mistaken a "technique" of fishing smaller baits for bass in a low bite mood.I will say lately i have seen more rod manufactures jumping on the band wagon at every little hint of something new to sell, even now loomis has come out with a trout series of rods,oh so the sr series is not good enough now and we have to have another specific rod for that now.In my opinion if you don't know what rod you should use for ultralight, worms, cranks, etc quit fishing and go back to watching football...

The month of Dec. on eBay
I've been fairly ticked with ebay this year,i canceled my paypal account,it was bad enough with the seller fees and list fees with ebay i couldn't take paypal burning me also,so on all my ads i said postal money orders only,d**n if several bid and won then tried weaseling out of paying and i hit them with a unpaid item strike and blocked them from bidding from me again!Ebay just doesn't do enough to people winning bids and then not following through on payments, they need banning from the site altogether. :-X

Pics of old lures not made you still use!
I have been on a search this year to find lures i bought when i was a kid growing up i am now 43 and believe i have bought every rebel teeny r and bagley honey b ebay has had!I also have given in to the bait monkey on the plastic worm side.I will get my specials out and take some pics to bring back those memories of shopping in hole in the wall tackle shops and roses dimestores, kings, and when k-mart and best products had GOOD stuff!

Discontinued Lures
I was just thinking a similar topic starter but mine was going to be lets see some of your old baits not made anymore that you fish! One thing i have done this year was sell off some things i never used and look ebay and other fishing sites for items i use and can't find. Luckally i have ran across some old strike king diamond worms, fleck worms and even some old yum yum worms,i have plenty of older creme.Thebaits i would like to see come back are strike king buzz kings with the two counter rotating blades(have 3)terminator t-1's in 1/8 oz(have 12).

We just got sponsored by G. Loomis and I have to pick out a couple rods.
Ditto on the magbass, they have sic's and are the original loomis rods before shimano put there two cents in and the (specialty)rods began being made.I still use there cr series in 6' either imx or glx,the medium action is a good allaround stick for worms up to 6-7",spinnerbaits to 1/2 oz and cranks to 3/8 oz,thats the size i normally use anyway.
-
Light Jig Rod?
Look at loomis' spin jig line of spinning rods, got good backbone in the butt sections and softer tips to really throw jigs, minnow style hard baits and the like.i owned the sjr 721 and 722 each a light and medium action and would not look at any other rod for a spinner.
